Hiking Lion's Head Cape Town | Best Free Activity in Cape Town
Hiking up Lion's Head Cape Town is in my opinion the best free activity in Cape Town. Join me as I show and give you all the information to cross this amazing hike of your bucket list.
The hike up Lions head is not nearly as difficult or dangerous as people make it out to be. It is at most a moderate hike with plenty of places to rest and re-energize whilst adoring the amazing views on offer.
You can effortlessly work your way around the clockwise route with only the ladders and chain posing minor obstacles. Of these the worst one can be completely avoided by taking a slightly longer detour. The final section involves a bit of old school rock climbing before reaching the top with its uninterrupted 360 degree views of Cape Town.
The Lions head hike is a definite to do activity in Cape Town and should be on everyones bucket list #travel #5410Africa #capetown #southafrica

That's a pity Bob. Took me a while to hike it as well first time, not sure why? But even now on my second time I was still surprised by those spectacular views!

amazing hike, I appreciate the details you've included here and there. Do you know which route at the fork road is more scenic?

As for your question regarding the route at the fork road on Lion's Head, both options offer stunning scenery, but the decision ultimately comes down to personal preference. If you're up for a challenge and enjoy a more adventurous hike, the route to the right at the fork road may be the way to go. This route involves some rock scrambling and can be quite steep, but the payoff is the breathtaking panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and the surrounding landscapes. Alternatively, if you prefer a more relaxed hike and want to take in the sweeping views of Cape Town and Table Mountain, the route to the left at the fork road may be more suitable for you. This route is slightly longer than the right option but is less steep and easier to navigate. Both routes offer their unique experiences and scenery, and it's worth noting that there are many viewpoints and photo opportunities along the way, so you can't go wrong with either option. If you're looking for more detailed information about the different routes up Lion's Head, I recommend checking out the following websites: [ w w w . h i k e l i o n s h e a d . c o . z a ] and ( w w w . l i o n s h e a d h i k e . c o m ) and { w w w . l i o n s h e a d c a p e t o w n . c o m } Each website provides useful information about the various routes, including their difficulty levels, lengths, and different features. These sites are an excellent resource for planning your hike and ensuring that you choose the route that best suits your needs and preferences. I hope this information helps you decide which route to take on your hike up Lion's Head, and I wish you a fantastic time on your adventure. Happy hiking!
