@3:50 In the U.S. Marine Corps we called sleeping out in the open using only a sleeping pad, sleeping bag, and ponch a “stargazer rack” (“rack” = bed in Marine-speak). A good tent is awesome, but so is the ability to just open your eyes and immediately see the night sky and what’s around you.

I suffer from anxiety which can make me very nauseous. But when that happens, I throw on one of your videos and it's like the antidote to it all. Thank you for your work Erik. I really appreciate it.

I would of living a life like this be so very close to the nature, bird sounds, river, snow and whatever the nature brings. However I always wonder how can you sleep in snow without a tent and fire and still be safe thru the night ! It's amazing! I know you have the sleeping bag but still...

I know that the coolest, latest outdoorsy thing on KZread seems to be people camping and such without any music or words... and mostly, I find that enjoyable. But Eric, your narrative only enhanced this video! The combination of nature's soundtrack, the photography, and the well chosen, understated narrative sent this video to the moon! @@wanderingbox7971 oh I don’t think it’s too bad. I mean we have freedom to roam and wild camping protected in law. No campfires right enough, but then the land is quite fragile after centuries of misuse. Scotland’s land ownership model has been problematic but we’re slowly getting the upper hand and, in my opinion, we’ll be better off in the long run.
