Contrary to how it looks in the video, Ryan and I did actually talk to each other during this hike haha. Check out his video about the hike - kzread.info/dash/bejne/h2mOtM2Ggprbk7Q.html

Once in certain parts of the trail it’s just like anywhere else in the world on a trail. Great hills trees and trails. Didn’t have the shops and toilets when I lived there though. Glad it’s still well used. This is on what’s called The New Territories side. Even on Hong Kong Island there are beaches.

Fun fact: this year is the 40th anniversary of the MacLehose trails, named after the governor, Murray MacLehose. It is a 100 kilometer-long country park hiking trail, divided into 10 sections. If you're still around. I recommend the Lantau coastal trail

That shot at the 2 minute mark where the city is slowly revealed across the horizon from the trees is just epic! Pure class.
Drone always makes everything becoming interesting. MacLehose Trail is definitely an integral part in Hong Kong.People nowadays tend to finish it with a form of trail running, which means completing all sections of Mac-Trail within around 11-15 hours. However, walking slowly and camping around after all are never wrong. This traditional hiking format even is the best way to enjoy every single details of this trail.

nearshek bruh don’t speak like 11-15 hours is what people normally do. 11 hours is the record time of Oxfam Super Trailwalker by Team Columbia. There’s literally only a handful of people capable of doing that.

That is the Hong Kong Trail for the "11-15hr trail running" hes talking about. There are three main trails in Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Trail ~50km, the Maclehose ~100km, and the Wilson ~78km. Maclehose would most certainly need at least two nights of camping.

@@chengkenneth83 and also the Lantau Trail! ~70km. There's an annual trail running event called Hong Kong Four Trails Ultra Challenge (HK4UTC).
This brought back so many memories. I went to college in Hong Kong, so many good hiking trails. Amazing cinematography as always!
I enjoyed the silence of your video, and let nature and visual take over.
I do like this editing style to these videos, no vlog, just relaxing sounds
So many people don't realise how much outdoor space (beaches, islands, hiking trails) there are in Hong Kong! I myself only fully realised when I moved here. One of my favourite hikes (possibly anywhere in the world) is around Ma On Shan, which is somewhat (there are some gorgeous/fun offtrail sections) part of this MacLehose Trail (Stage 4). And the Tai Long Wan beaches around the first stages at 1:09 makes you double check if you're really still in HK! ❤ Oh, Hong Kong 😍 Beautifully done as always.
As someone from HK, you are the only one I know that completed most of the trail, and with a cinematic vlog. Big fan from the wedding film school time, awesome work.
wow man I'm a Hong Konger and coincidentally I have just done the full MacLehose Trail last week as well in 4 days. I hope you have enjoyed our city's unique scenery of hills and highrises combined, especially the night!
These kinds of videos of yours make me calm. It relieves my anxiety and depression. And for that I thank you.

You can tell Kraig definitely drink more water this time than Kilimanjaro. We call this experience that makes you stronger. Great job Kraig, awesome hike.
The images taken with the drone are magnificent! It makes you want to spend your whole life traveling.
These videos are really something else. Perfect for this chilly Sunday
What I love about your videos is that they really capture what it feels like to hike.
I absolutely love your compositions. Your work always provides me with a great sense of inspiration. Looking forward to the next one, Kraig!
I could watch your videos all day long. Super immersive and relaxing at the same time. Once again, well done Kraig.
These videos will never get old, they are all so pleasing to watch. Thank you for sharing your travels with us all.
i love doing hiking during my off work its feel amazing to hear sound of the birds and whisper the fresh air in your ear with good weather its amazing
There used to be an annual event called Trailwalker during which a few thousand people in teams of 4 had 48 hours to cover the Maclehose Trail. Gurkha teams would run the whole way and complete it in 13-14 hours. I did it twice in consecutive years in 1992 and 1993. My team’s aim was to beat 24 hours. The only reason I did it twice was our 26 hour attempt in 1992!
Absolutely breathtaking! Thank you for showing the world how beautiful Hong Kong really is!
Nostalgia hits me. Living 2 yrs of my childhood in HK the trails seemed all so familiar. Thanks Kraig for this meditative video.

Kraig just wanted to say thanks because your videos have made me go outside a lot more often. I found out that there's a state park 10 minutes from my house (it's nothing super special) but getting outside after a long day of staring at a laptop screen editing has been so helpful to my overall well-being. Thanks again!!
I have always been a fan of your videos. Also subscribed as a thank you for showing the beautiful nature of Hong Kong.
A breathtaking film, Kraig. Loved the music, and you really showcase HK’s natural beauty here (which most visitors don’t see enough of). Loved it!
Wonderful images...... brings back many wonderful memories of the Oxfam Trailwalker...
Love your silent videos that solely focuses on the beauty of your surroundings!! If you keep making them then you've got a watcher for life!
Thank you! Last year I did not so long solo hiking and your videos inspired me on more longer trips.
This is beautiful! I've been watching you channel for a few months here and there, can't believe that you did this trail and I didn't see it until now!! I'm from HK and your video has inspired me to explore more of MacLehose.
Amazing video, love these videos! Makes me want to go hiking in different countries!
Don’t know how I’ve never seen this channel before. Will be a new favorite. Adding this trail to my list!
One thing I truly admire about your videos is that I never get bored. I find myself sitting for 20+ minutes always wanting more & always staying captivated by the storytelling - not many people get that right especially with minimal dialogue. Well done!

So pure and relaxing. Great work Kraig!
I have been putting off doing this trail for a very long time. After watching this video, I realized how much I have been missing. Thanks for the video!

Thanks for making this video! It was beautiful!
Love your still shots' arrangements. Great work!
Thanks for your awesome and inspiring videos!
Such a mood watching this video after a busy weekend its nice to sit down and relax to it for 20 mins!
Greetings from Hong Kong! I'm so glad you enjoy your hike in Hong Kong Thanks for bringing serenity in your video especially in the current situation of social unrest politically and fear of a coronavirus outbreak 2:00 is the best shot I like in the video. Love the landscape of Hong Kong rising from afar. Also happy to see you are recovering from the altitude sickness and successfully walk the MacLehose Trail. In the beginning of the video I was curious why there were no people in any of the shots. The trails are usually packed with many people, especially in the weekends! And later I see (hear) people around :D Haha finally break the silence! lol Please forgive us laughing and talking loud they are just happy hikers :D

Another great film! Keep up the good work man.
honestly, it's really being grateful to see Vietsub in your video, I'm not good at English and some Vietnamese who's watching your video also. your videos make me have more strong to discover the world, thank you and hope you get safe on every trail you go
What a great video! HK nature is awesome!
Kraig, I look forward to your videos. Sometimes I watch them thinking I would like to do that hike. Others, I watch and think, "now I've experienced it through Kraig's lens and don't need to go". I enjoy the way you keep dialogue to a minimum, but you highlight the ambient sounds so that the viewer gets a real sense of place. I also appreciate how you don't colour grade or boost saturation in such a way as to make it more visually appealing though less real to the actual experience. You are doing what I hope to do someday...filming long hikes and sharing the joy of exploring the world on foot. Keep it up, brother.
What a treat!! Two videos from you in one week. 😍😍
always so beautiful , thank's man for your videos
