Hverir is a geothermal area at the foothill of Namafjall in north Iceland. It is also called Hverarönd or Namaskard. It is part of the North Iceland Diamond Circle.
Walk in the geothermal area and mud pools and hike uphill to Námafjall Viewpoint. Namafjall is the mountain that overlooks Hverarond and the Krafla volcano in the background on one side and Lake Myvatn on the other side. Namaskard Pass is the name of the trail that leads from Hverarond. The whole place has a sulfur smell. The hike might be difficult. You need to wear hiking shoes. The trail that goes to the right is easy, long, and less steep. The one on the left is extremely steep and difficult. The easy hike can take up to 2 hours roundtrip.
