With a move order thing, unexpected opponent move earlier, that also cost him a puzzle and a few unregistered moves that cost him time so probably last puzzle he had right to expect even more.

This is one of those KZread videos that's very short but so dense with information that it takes an hour or more to watch it because you have to constantly pause the video and process what's being shown. In this case it takes over a hundred pauses if you want to think about all the puzzles from the beginning (the really interesting ones start at 1:06 though) By the way, Hikaru only got about 40 puzzles in a row. He failed the King&2pawns vs King&2pawns one where he apparently assumed white had to draw when it could actually win. That said, it's absolutely unbelievable how he registers positions in only a fraction of a second and acts inmediately. It's like watching a stream of those Korean StarCraft 1 players. You can't keep up with what they're doing!

insane. I'm nearly 2400 rated in puzzles after a year of practice (I figure that's better than most, but beneath most serious players -- happy to be corrected if you know better) -- he solves these before I can even comprehend the board state. I'm still locating key pieces and he's onto the next puzzle. Another level Hikaru - nice.

When I started watching this video, the volume was turned up too loud so I turned the volume down a little bit. I had to look over at the little volume level bar to make sure it was at the right level. Then I looked back at the middle of the screen. In that absurdly short period of time he quite literally solved 4 puzzles, I mean… Jesus, how?

Even GM’s and other masters who have been grinding for years can’t match Hilary’s speed. Some people just have more intelligence and efficient brain wiring than others, which is a hard pill to swallow for some people
