9:15 something interesting about this is that Hikaru was saying in his recap that during his game he saw that Anish had a strong position against Esipenko, so he felt comfortable playing for the draw rather than finding something riskier and more aggressive. Kind of meta gaming in a way. I wonder how much effect that has on the results of these high level tournaments, and whether its a good thing or not.

Is there any preventative measures for players "fixing" matches? Like for example if anish like liked esipenko as a player and wanted to see him in the candidates could he not just subtly make a few small inaccuracies that lead to a loss? Is there any incentive for him not to do that or are the best chess players just generally good enough sports that they wouldnt do that

I think Esipenko was well prepared and the opening was fine - you didn't really talk about the critical moment ( i felt it wasn't just a "big trade") and where he lost a lot of time, he blundered. I don't blame him though with all the pressure

lowest avarage rating at candidates despite of best players playing is simply because of rating deflation if anyone is wondering after levy’s words.

Levi, are you going to record something from this tournament in Montenegro. Magnus is going to be there. It's something like Europe Championship.

Love that Hikaru made it. On another note, looking at that list, are there no Tom Smith's that play high level chess? Or John Miller or Bob Johnson or something like that?
