I just loved this episode! My precious son died of cancer in 1999. For his fourth Christmas I got him a train set with S&H Green Stamps. I was a young divorced mother trying to provide for him with no financial or spiritual help from his dad who walked out on us. If it hadn't been for the stamps he would not have had a Christmas that year. Along with the train he got a cute little Teddy bear that he named Jerry. He kept that little bear almost all his life. A cleptomainiac exfriend stole it to add to other bears she had stolen from other children. Life has a way of stealing things from us, the lives of our children, treasured keep sakes, but it cannot steal the memories of a beautiful child's face at Christmas as they learn about Jesus, the reason for Christmas and a soft little bear and a battery operated train. I was blessed to have him for 28 Christmases and his spirit is still alive, just his address is changed. May you all have many more Merry Christmases with your loved ones. Make many memories. My sister and I met his best friend with his wife and mother to celebrate Chris' memory in our favorite restraunt. Beautiful memories. At 71, I am getting closer and closer to him. Do you remember Josh Groban's song " Up to Where You Are" ? Beautiful song, gives one hope. God is sooooooo good! Have a wonderful day!

What I loved about this program was the wholesome lessons it taught, and the written miracles in the script of course. For those watching this all these years later, Merry Christmas

Great episode,with thoughts of Miracle on 34th Street. I love HTH, even the comment section is great. Very seldom do i read any negative or mean comments from people ,seldom even read an argument between them. Thats something you just cant see on other channels. This program continues to bless people decades after it ended. Thank you Michael Landon for your legacy and the blessings on our society. 🙏

Highway to Heaven is that one special TV show which shows character and superb directing and acting giving viewers a sense of what is really important in life: love and caring for each other’s and the importance of keeping the faith. Yes many young boys and girls on show but the themes and lessons learned apply to us all and live on regardless of what age we are.

I love Santa stories........I miss these two amazing guyz....Angel Jonathan and Mark......today is my Dads birthday in heaven...his name was Miguel which means Michael in english,,,,,,,hope he met already my fave actor and the greatest entertainer.......all Michaels.....Michael Jackson..Michael Landon and my Dad Miguel ..RIP miss you all

Michael's are the best aren't they 😇 I of course love Landon and I adore MJ & in my life have liked many Michael's. I hope your father has met them and is happy and at peace. I am hoping my mum has gotten to meet them too, she passed away 2 years ago this month (July 26th) She too liked Landon and Jackson 😇 Hopefully she has met the other people she admired too like Telly Savalas and Raymond Burr among others.

I loved this episode!!! Loved how the guy that played Santa delivered his lines to Mr. Grinchly starting at 9:12 ending at 9:25, i kept rewinding that part and kept watching it over and over again. I love the line "You;ll have to stand in line, these kids were here before you." The acting, the delivery of the lines the fact that Jonathan couldn't get a word in when Mr, and Mrs. Burke were busy arguing This episode made it to my top ten favorites

Matty was correctly depicted as a child caught between two warring parents, something Michael L's too personally familiar with. That experience as a child can make a lifetime of overcompensating inadequate to help.

@@gleaveinjapan James, firstly, both the Pagans and the Christians are worshiping God. It's just different interpretations. Many faiths and systems celebrate that time of year. It's a magical time because of what is happening in nature, the Winter Solstice. The season is about coming in from the cold and spending time with loved ones. :)

Where was Heat Miser? So many takeoffs of other stories; A Christmas Carol done twice, The Prince and the Pauper etc. This one was a composite of a Miracle on 34th Street and Oh God. Even had Clarence and the Grinch (as Grinchley). Clever for kids though, I suppose.

"Xmas" is a very old abbreviation, dating back to the early church, where the "X" is actually the Greek letter "chi", which is the first letter in the Greek word "Christos". So, being an abbreviation, it is properly pronounced "Christmas" rather than "exmas". Nobody is trying to denigrate Christ or remove him from Christmas by using Xmas on that card.

The original 'Saint' Nicholas is far (-"a long time ago in a land far away", so to speak -) from this character. Highway to Heaven stories were modern day parables, and I often respect them. But I'm concerned with the mixed message of the angel, the messenger of God, and Santa, that jolly old man in the red suit that the Coca Cola company gave him nearly a century ago.

The Californian Santa has adapted his Bermudas and Hawaiian shirts to fit the climate, as other Santas fit other places worldwide, other times. He seems to be a very special type of angel for H2H. A real saint.

Good episode and a crib on miracle on 34st street Unfortunately the one point of the episode went out the door and missed the point Klaus objection to using his good name to promote weapons was left by the wayside in this episode It just concentrated on him proving he was Santa Claus Should have also conveyed the message that Christmas is a season of promoting peace live and giving not giving guns etc out fir Christmas

Shouldn't this episode be called how Billy Grinchly tried to misappropriate Christmas.
