Thanks for all the kind comments. I remember well the time in 1975 when we recorded this album in Mason City, Iowa. The three of us were on the road playing gigs throughout the Midwest about 28 days a month. Our manager was also a concert promoter and when he would book a national act for a large concert, he would have us open for them. We got to share dressing rooms and stages with some awesome, world class musicians, and they are memories we have carried with us throughout our lives. Steve remained one of my dearest friends for over fifty years, and I miss him dearly. One of the finest guitarists, and human beings, I have ever been honored to play with and know. It's great to see his music being enjoyed, and applauded, all these many years later. We are being inducted into the Iowa Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this fall, and will be playing a concert the night of the induction. Steve's son, Jade, will be standing in on guitar. He is a great guitarist in his own right, and I think it is a fitting tribute to Steve to have his son playing these great songs so many years later. Dan

@@simonecarniel4859 Thanks Simone. It's great to hear from someone from my mother's homeland, (she grew up in Rome). I have CD recordings of numerous live gigs we did over the years. They were made with a TEAC reel to reel recorder, so the quality leaves something to be desired, but the memories are still there. Most are cover tunes of the era....progressive rock mostly. Kansas, Yes, Flash. This was a different incarnation of the band, when we had a phenomenal keyboard player named Tim Messerli.

Great Album, Thank You for Sharing! Graduated HS in 75, this brought back memories of a time not consumed with Worry, Mortgages, Broken Mariages and the rest of the BS we get saddled with along the way🤙

THIS ALBUM IS A REVELATION, IT IS DIVINE. How is this not more known. This album is a work of art. I cant believe it. A MASTERPIECE FOR THE AGES.

Its a truly incredible album.

I discovered Highway a year prior to Murphy's death. This entire album is beautiful. Thank you to all of those members involved it creating this... You are all truly beautiful people... You are the "Bright side"

That was the single band that came to my mind too - Wishbone Ash. And likewise, that's a great compliment. Absolutely superb album.

It's sooo good. Check out the band "Head Over Heels" and their self titled album if you haven't already. Another rare hard rock classic

Superb musicianship, brilliant album.

Road trip "75. The sign post on the HIGHWAY said Thebestdream I had straight ahead. So I stopped to check out the dream and came upon this rock-n-roll scene. Great LP.

Started slow, but little by little became excelent piece of music....That guitar around minute 30 is an outstanding example of how great this is.

Highly recommended indeed, it's a essential record of humanity

This is a very good album from fine young musicians and is a creation that they can be proud of always...it is so good that new generations can listen and now appreciate and perhaps get inspiration from this cool album of music...thanks for posting this well done work

UH DP TYA Jimi Hendrix do tego prowadziłem Fan Club poświęcony muzyce rockowej czasami ktoś przyniòsł płytę jakiejś nieznanej kapeli a dziś posiadam zapisane w bibliotece You Tube ponad 2100 płyt z tamtego okresu właśnie takich prawie że nieznanych kapel kapel ktòre nagrały jedną świetną płytę lub dwie i potem słuch po nich zaginął

Thank you to this band for such fantastic music!! I love this album. Being a life long Minnesota guy and just recently discovering all the 60s-70s music that has faded into time. Its really neat and hard to believe these guys are from the same state as me. These guys are unreal. This album is sooooo good. I wish they could do a remaster/cd. I was able to get my hands on a reissue of this as an import on vinyl..probably a bootleg but its ok sounding. It would be great to hear the real thing or a remaster version but im happy with what i have and that i was able to find it. THey are available over at "forced exposure" records for less than $18 bucks!...and are in stock now. I had to wait a few months for stock to arrive and boy i was surprised when i got an email saying this was back in stock. ANyway...for those looking...there you go. If anyone knows where to get the cd from the 1990s they put out id love to have it. I need a shirt with this album art on it as well. I think it might be reissue/tshirt bundle time! Also...congrats on the Epicureans hall of fame induction in MN and Iowa. Thats another great set of tunes. DId they ever do a full album or just the few singles? Great garage rock.

david patterson: I hear u..not to mention, what ever happened to the term acid rock? It got replaced with classic rock, proto metal, etc. I've been starting to use that term again instead of wasting my breath calling a band bluesy, psychy, proggy, heavy, 70s blah blah blah

Wouldn’t acid rock imply that it’s “trippy” or “psychedelic”. Aka pink floyd etc. Obviously some of the beatles stuff. This isn’t trippy or psychedelic in my opinion. I would say it’s more good ol fashion blues rock.

CDC 67 Acid rock is music you could take acid to and have a good time I would say, times were different acid was new, I don’t trust any of the stuff going around now /but it’s like the first incarnation of stoned musicians that marketed the music in that way , cheers psych on brethren an sistren

To all those who enjoyed "Too Many Changes", the very first track here by this great band, Highway, I would urge you to have a listen to "The Wrong Time", written by the also american Gary Wright, who spent most of the 70s in the UK with the band Spooky Tooth. "The Wrong Time" belongs to Spooky Tooth's album "The Last Puff" (1970). The guitar riffs of both songs are quite similar and with the same spirit! Hope you enjoy! 😉🙃
