It's about letting the band know you recognize the song, love it, etc. If the crowd were silent, wouldn't the band wonder why?

@@richm.3477 I understand that completely. People go to a live show for all sorts of reasons, and most don't want to hear an exact studio replica of the songs. Plus a large portion of the crowd is partaking in some adult beverages. So they get excited haha.

Nah man. As a performer myself, I love hearing the crowd. It makes me feel alive.

I am so sorry, but recorded version is so much better. I have never known such beautiful song. I want to die hearing this song but in the most amazing moment his voice couldn’t make it. But still i love it so fucking much...

Wanted to like these guys and then I realized after a day it's all the same song that everyone else who "makes it " plays. Just with drug use and depression instead of my girl left me..and add some mediocre blues guitar.
