Obvs not. 2:20 He's in a good position. He can pick up his runner from outside if he needs to but also stops Dzyuba being able to peel off the back of Mulgrew. Chance missed. 2:53 Gets across to try and block and almost stops the first goal. As the ball comes across there's 3 Russians around O'Donnell. So 2 aren't his man. So who's at fault? 3:50 He was criticised for being so far up. But so was Robertson. Can't legislate for McGregor's awful pass and McLean's bizarre choices. He gets back and challanges. 5:10 Chaos after McLean again does something dumb. Notice that O'Donnell's literally the only guy marking someone. 6:10 Cooper and McLean lose possession again. O'Donnell quickly gets back, forces his man wide so the shot is more difficult and saveable. 7:22 Good run and cross. McBurnie might have done better with it if he'd attacked it more. He doesn't actually do anything wrong. UNlike Cooper, Mulgrew, Robertson, McLean, McGregor, Forrest.. you get the point.

Good game Scotland, were fairly unlucky going forward. Ryan Fraser is class, carries the ball with real purpose. Defending however was schoolboy, really let the team down, even with brilliant stops from the keeper.

Stephen o'Donnell and Cooper. 2 players that should not have been playing for Scotland that night against a quality team. Shame the manager made this decision. Maybe he couldn't find anyone else?

Just imagine where Scotland could have been with Stein, Shankly or Ferguson in charge for 5-10 years at the height of their careers. Also I never quite understood why Souness nor Hansen played for Scotland very often when they were two of the top players in europe. The highest profile player in the current team is a left back, for pities sake. There is just something fundamentally wrong with the set up as a whole.

Hansen was a waste of space with Scotland no matter how successful he was with his club - too relaxed, never committed. hardest tackle he ever put in was on Willie Miller (remember that game in 82, against Russia oddly enough). The final game he played for his country Jock Stein took him off at half time saying his jumping "wasn't convincing". The crowd were on the manager's side with that one for sure. Souness... well, that same game he scored a great goal but he'd been poor until then. Just showed what he could do when he put his mind to it, which wasn't too often.

Got to get goals at Hampden, this Sunday, big chance for a traditional Scottish win there. Come on. Got a confidence boost for the play offs. Было бы неплохо увидеть Шотландию на евро, хм, может 3е место позволит попасть в стыковые матчи?.. Scotland are a poor, poor team. They have never been a good side....and this one is no different. It should have been 6 - 1 for sure...but the Scots got lucky. This 'cobbled together' side of average players and 'C class Englishmen'...were completely dismantled by a very good Russian team....and despair set in a long time before with previous results and shambolic football. The much vaunted 'Tartan Army' has deserted in droves...and only a remnant pay the extortionately high ticket prices charged to see comedy football from Scotland. I very much doubt that they will get any points from their remaining games against Belgium and Russia...and will not qualify. Steve Clarke is a good manager...but he can do nothing with Scotland.

Mediocre Russian team? Lol .. we played in 1/4 finals in WC 2018 and were Eleminated only in shootout penalties. Indeed, Scotland looked so awful during this match - the highlights don’t show the total dominance that Russia 🇷🇺 had over poor Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 for almost 80 minutes of the game.
