    You know what impresses me? How quiet Twickenham is for kickers. Even the AB kicker was respected here. Don't know anywhere else where that happens.

    Aviva Stadiun in Dublin, Ireland's home turf, silence almost every time for any kicker. Whichever opposing team goes to that stadium they know their kickers are going to have silence. You can even hear the crowd 'shushing' anyone who tries to make an outburst.

    England played well in patches but could just not quite cut it with NZ as the game wore on. Could have been worse for England as it seemed the ref was particularly harsh on NZ with some inconsistent calls. Once again they showed the NH teams that rugby is an 80 minute game. The All Blacks showed once again that they are one of the great sporting teams in the world if not the best.

    Staunch AB fan here. I still think England are a major threat. There's too much being read into these games before the world cup. If there's one thing Northern Hemispheres do so well is World Cup time. Before we won the world cup in 2011 we took a lot of lessons from the Northern Hemisphere for example, England know how to slow the game down and that's what won them the world cup, France light up during world cup and are completely different team. Next year, Ireland will be maxing their potential on the field. It's not going to be easy for our boys, it's one thing to win the world cup, but to defend it is a whole new matter in itself. Still....go the ABs

    yes it should have been a try to Whitelock. You are correct. I can not believe after replays, several looks from the ref and the TMO, that they could ignore the rule book and give it a 'no try'. Yet, they give a penalty try to the English pack when both front rows went up at the same time and there being no certainty at all England were going to score a push over try. The ref did have a poor game for both sides, yet it is evident England got the rub of the green on the big plays.

    The one thing England shouldn't be taking from this game is overconfidence due to the narrow scoreline. There were a lot of excuses early in the year when they lost 3-0 as that was their end of season. This is the AB's end of season and we still managed a win. It goes to show exactly where England are and where they need to be. This game though was a tough win, and it was good to see where the AB's need to be come WRC 2015. It'll be tough to win back to win in your backyard.

    ***** Tight lines mate couldn't agree more. The ABs by and large are not a dirty team. McCaw is a bit suss but he's smart at knowing when to push the boundaries. But history doesn't paint the sportsmanship of the Boks - Matfield, Botha, Eben "Funkyzeit" Etzebeth etc all dirty players, in a good light. Yeah the Wallabies have talent but we badly lack composure in the tight games against the ABs. Im confident that Cheika will help the tight five improve and hopefully Palu will be available, fit and healthy for the WC.

    New Zealand playing at 30% for most of that game until they needed to step it up a few gears. No team can live with them in reality. It's nice to come so close i suppose, but taking the whole game into context, It was like NZ were teasing England. In reality, If NZ had shown up at full tilt for the entire game they would have scored 40+ England are not as good as they were last year, but that can be attributed to being rusty also. We can't underestimate the fact that if a team are just coming together after a long lay off they are just not going to be at their best. Where NZ were playing top flight international rugby together just 3 weeks before this game. It makes a big difference. With that said, England fans have got to be worried. An the evidence of this game and the following SA result England will escape their world cup group and be promptly send home in the first knockout game. Ireland, France, New Zealand, South Africa and Australia are all on a higher lever to the hosts as it stands. Which puts England 6th best in reality. And 11 months is not enough time to change that particularly since Ireland and France are progressing rapidly and indeed Australia finally have the coach they need. England have Lanacaster, i nice guy. But he moves at a glacial pace.

But Jones came with an iron clad contract too. He can do as he wants. Lancaster was always hamstrung. I don't blame him at all to be fair. It was the puppet masters in the suits.

    After former All Black Andrew Hore got away with clouting Welshman Bradley Davies in the 2012 test match at the Millennium Stadium, World Rugby made a change to the laws allowing referees to act on incidents of foul play shown on the big screen in an effort to help them better. Unfortunately this led to incidents of bias where the television directors would repeatedly show only incidents committed by the visiting side which in turn created a hostile environment for the referees to operate in. This exact problem happened in this game and a normally composed referee in Nigel Owens clearly became flustered by it. Despite this the All Blacks held on to win the game. This bias problem was also shown in the 2014 Rugby Championship at Ellis Park where a foul play incident in the 76th minute by Liam Messam, originally missed by referee Wayne Barnes and his assistants, was then shown repeatedly by the local broadcaster when play stopped in the 78th minute, causing Barnes to have to act on it. The incident was a clear cut penalty but the fact that two minutes passed between when it happened and when it was acted upon gave the All Blacks less than a minute to try and come up with a winning play, which they couldn't do. NZ teams weren't always on the receiving end of this problem. I can remember one incident in the 2014 Super Rugby season where the Crusaders benefited from this home town broadcaster bias. When they played the Sharks in 2014, Sharks flanker Jean Deysel was red carded for stomping on Jordan Taufua (who was illegally holding him away from a ruck), but the incident was missed in real time and was only acted upon when referee Rohan Hoffmann saw it being repeatedly played on the big screen afterwards. To eliminate the potential for local broadcaster bias to influence games World Rugby had to alter the rules around the big screen, where I believe now that only TMOs can interfere if they spot something illegal that has happened, with them also not being allowed to go further back than one set piece play, eliminating the potential for incidents missed five minutes earlier to then be acted on.

    Food for thought, do you think the all blacks are playing to their best ??? I don't ,to me they are doing only what they need to to to win and using this tour to build for next years WC testing combinations and probing other teams defenses and what they are likely to come up with . I think the abs have another couple of gears they can go up if they need to . What you all think?

    I think England have a great team full of talented players and NO....New Zealand are not testing out anything or playing relaxed rugby, it's a Northern tour for sake, teams play to WIN games not test each other out. I think England will be a threat to watch out for in next years World Cup but I'm not ruling out other teams as new Zealand face tougher oppositions like Ireland, France and Wales.

    Yea a little the ABs are testing all the players in there arsenal giving them all solid game time and testing new game plays and strategy's but in know way are they going easy, if the ABs went into a game with that mentality they would lose hands down, but would say they have few aces up there sleeve

    Lonewolf777able @ lone wolf and Killdriver Thanks for the replies To me England have an OK team but still lack back line punch (aside from the first try which from memory came from a kiwi cockup??) I still think the abs have another couple of gears to step up to as was demonstrated in the welsh test today , And lone wolf i didn't say nz was playing relaxed rugby, I was saying that they seem to me to be doing enough to win and not give to much away.

    NZ need to start kicking their goals. Barrett for all his great play is an unproven goal kicker who misses a number of straight forward attempts. In this game, NZ were 10 points the better side if it were not for Barrett missing simple shots. Again Barrett cost the Hurricanes victory by missing his goals in the S15 final... Not good.

    +Raycharles ranger73 How can you say that when England went into the 2003 World Cup as the runaway favourites and won? That's like the opposite of choking. You want chokers? Try the French. Made the final three times, made the semi final three times, never won. Or even the Irish, who have never made it past the quarter finals.

  • @IamMcBobb

    @IamMcBobb

    +Theocook1 French don't choke. They are anti-chokers! They went to the 2011 RWC during a dispute with management, went on strike mid-tourney and STILL made the Final. Biggest chokers (pre 2011) would have gone to NZ for me. Best team on the planet for SO LONG but never managed to convert that to World Cup victory (off home soil)
