In the end President Obama came out on top; both in the debate and election.
Obama was masterful in this debate. Romney was no match.
Even though Mitt Romney seems pretty weak in this debate, but at least I can say he's more focused on the topics of interests than Trump was in any of his debates.
'well governor, we also have fewer horses and bayonets' brilliant. XD
Love that Obama does a "the 1980-s called" joke.
"We have these things called air craft carriers, planes land on them" LOL so condescending.
When your house is burning down...would you buy a short hose? no
Thank you!!
2:35 - 2:40 lmfao!
That's how you know he isn't a robot. Robots don't blink.
Romney reminds me of Martin Sheen's president in The Dead Zone.
... ships that go under water ... nuclear submarines!! LOL great!
HAHAHAH We have these things called aircraft carriers.
Hence the word "fewer", not "no"... You catch his drift, anyway. :)
He actually says fewer horses and bayonets, not that we don't use them
He was mocking Romney's ignorance, not the Navy.
2:01 Damn, that must have hurt.
you would*
The Navy has fewer ships than it did two decades ago, but the ships it has are far more capable than those of the 1980s. Because of the collapse of its competitors, the Navy is relatively more capable of fighting and winning wars now than it was during the Reagan administration.
"you cant kill your way out of this problem" cod players after the score on hardpoint is 140 to 90: kill
Wow. I think you might be the one misunderstanding the concept of GDP. GDP is a measure of production. Perhaps you are confusing it with circulation? The Federal Government is not a producer. It does not make things, it takes money from individuals and the private sector (taxes) and then uses that money to purchase things from said individuals and the private sector. It might increase the velocity of money by doing so, but not one thing is actually produced.
I couldn't agree more. Every time he speaks, he uses large attractive words like "hope" and "freedom" but he didn't make a single point.
it's not a corncob, it's a dunkins cup because mASSACHUSETTS MASSACHUSETTS GOVERNOR GOVERNOR MASSACHUSETTS GOVERNOT MASSACHUSETTS
Our Navy? Small? It's larger than the next nine top navies combined. Our Marine Corps' active duty is the size of the entire British Army's active duty and reserve. If we need more of anything military then we're obviously fighting too many people.
The US has 11 aircraft carrier battle groups. That is 11 more than all other nations combined.
Romney - 'my strategy is pretty straight forward, which is to go after the bad guys and to do our very best to kill them' Romney at the end of the debate mentions peace 3 times. He says - 'We're going to continue to promote principles of peace that will make the world a safer place' hmmmm...
It's because that's where the batteries for these new cyborgs are located. They're not exactly small.
ill check it out when i feel like getting scammed :|
It's both hilarious and sad that you would believe either...
Did Romney just use the word Kill and then Peace in one debate??What a toss
It needs realignment of priorities and focus. We have far more hardware than we actually need. BTW it's under President Obama's term that Navy finally stabilized its force of around 330.000 personnel.Prior to 2009 for about 7 years Navy had been reducing personnel by about 8000 per year. BTW we have naval bases all over Asia and Europe. We are present near or in all of the hot spots.
the 1980s are calling for their policy back, bazzinga
"Have america remain as the hope of the world" LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOÕL
I thought Romney didn't want to chase bad guys?
Romney never explains HOW.
like its making any difference..
It didn't come across well. Especially since Romney's point was that there are fewer ships than the Navy says they need. In fact, since he was pointing out the Navy's own numbers on the matter, Obama was effectively mocking the Navy for not knowing how much better their ships are now then they used to be.
You really think his expressions are fake ? That's funny...I think the same about Obama.
0:31 Too much mw3...?
look at the context. BTW u may want to look up the meaning of "context" in a dictionary, judging by your response.
NO navy besides the United States' has more than one aircraft carrier capable of flying modern fixed wing aircraft. The United States enjoys similar dominance in surface combat vessels and submarines, operating twenty-two cruisers, fifty destroyers, fifty-five nuclear attack submarines, and ten amphibious assault ships (vessels roughly equivalent to most foreign aircraft carriers). In every category the U.S. Navy combines presumptive numerical superiority with a significant ship-to-ship advantage
I'm not even American but I just watch this to laugh at Romney. He's almost like a caricature in his ridiculousness.
u have a mind full of it. wait a sec..... u dont have a mind.
and romney does ?! lol
romeny's tie suggests that he doens't know what side he's even on. (It's red with blue stripes and it's suppose to be just red.)
2016???
@c3po402: Romney stare towards Obama was more than just a look of interest and respect. His face clearly showed that he either loved Obama or his policies.
you mean WW3? lol
Because they will use them if they get them.
they say the exact same things
No.
He's arguing that our needs are based on strategy. We no longer need a large amount of surface ships in the world. 1916 was the era of battleship. World War II proved that carriers and submarines would be the key ships in the future. Our navy is based around carrier groups currently. The American Navy is more effective in meeting modern needs using these ships, numbers do not matter, effectiveness does. So that's why Obama was not a "buffoon" in this instance.
Well, according to the Constitution and the Supreme Court, education and healthcare are within the sovereign domain of the States, whereas military matters are an enumerated power of the Federal Government. So, yeah. The military is something the federal government is specifically supposed to spend money on, whereas education and healthcare are explicitly not.
ouch!!!!horses and bayonets.Romney got his ass handed to him on a plate
you do know that before speeches take place, the president rehearses them. Oh and Romney knows his shit, thats why he is so confident in saying what he said.
Romney says we can't kill our way out, then he says "my strategy is pretty straight forward , to go after the bad guys, to take them out of the picture , to kill them" all in one breath. By the way whats "to be owned?".
The United States Navy currently operates eleven aircraft carriers. The oldest and least capable is faster, one third larger, and carries three times the aircraft of Admiral Kuznetsov, the largest carrier in the Russian Navy. Unlike China’s only aircraft carrier, the former Russian Varyag, American carriers have engines and are capable of self-propulsion. The only carrier in Indian service is fifty years old and a quarter the size of its American counterparts.
Well, actually, I'm a US History teacher. And I read books and newspapers. Strong sea power as a physical example of a country's dominance extended back to the Spanish and later the British. As a developing world power, TR sent battleships on a world-wide cruise to demonstrate America's ability to send a fighting force anywhere in the world. The US has bases in all corners of the world and can respond to events within hours, so Navy has shifted roles and no longer needs to meet the same needs.
Federal jobs do raise the GDP, if you don't think they do then clearly you don't understand what GDP is, it's the circle of money being spent, the more people spend it, the higher the GDP, so the more jobs in any sector and more even income distribution raise GDP. You thinking we currently have the highest unemployment rate of the history of the country is laughable, in the great depression the unemployment rate was around 25% and it's gone down by 2% to 8% since Obama entered office.
Well, in a sense, yes. If the American economy goes bad, the whole world is screwed.
presedents KNOW intelligence information what about other people ??? I mean candidates.... SO this is not equal
Would your hometown be peaceful without police?
since when is America the hope of the earth?
Man, i think we never got so little from a candidate in a debate before. In 3 debates, Romney gave us absolutely NOTHING! What he spent 3 debates to say, could be simply resumed in a couple of sentences. lol This is embarrassing.
Romney's military strategy would get us into more shit. Attacking for "justice" would be considered American Imperialism.
This situation is unlikely to change anytime soon. The French Navy and the Royal Navy will each expand to two aircraft carriers over the next decade. The most ambitious plans ascribed to the People’s Liberation Army Navy call for no more than three aircraft carriers by 2020, and even that strains credulity, given China’s inexperience with carrier operations and the construction of large military vessels.
Starting my own poll: 1. Obama 2. Romney 3. We're screwed
@ 2:20 how tacky. The Navy is THE most important branch of the military. Why is he trying to sound like a comedian? The state of the nation is no laughing matter.
We lost 9million jobs the last 6 months of GWB and the first 6 months of Obama. Now we've had 30 months of private sector growth, a thriving auto industry and over 2 years of positive GDPs. That' recovery. We had a DOW of (
Back to the Spanish? What about Rome? Or Greece? Regardless, if the Navy says they don't have the ships they need to carry out their overall mission, I am inclined to accede to their judgment on the matter. And don't underestimate the importance of naval power on a planet that is 71% ocean. The ocean is a terrible place to try and build a military base. That's why we have carrier groups. And if we can respond so quickly, why Benghazi?
I think Barack seems to know where to lead this country , Mitt I just can't imagine him as president
Four more years of this guy and we'll all be looking for jobs.
1:00 Obama: helping the opposition. ?
i love how Obama views a 2nd term as a second chance, a 2nd term is earned not just handed out

Tell that to trump
Obama: "For us to get more entangled in Syria is a Syrias step" he obviously thinks a serious matter is a joke but does so in a discreet way. We need the navy too it's not all about the planes. Also Iran already has nuclear weapons so he did lie outright.
George Bush did it for me. I hope we don't have the same situation like we did years back when everyone thought Al Gore was gonna win and George bush ends up winning.
If you knew the fact right you will know that it's not just an US problem, the fact that the EU is going trough a "crisis" influences your country in the same way that EU's economical problems are "child" of the 2008 crisis in US.I'm from Europe and I honestly don't find Obama that good, but Romney almost looks like a dictator to me and I can't grasp why someone would ever consider voting for him. I find almost all the positions he takes on many different subjects to be impossible to agree with.
if Romney really love the country im sure that out of the 20 billion dollars that he has he can give out to america to fix what has happened when sandy storm came through but this is if he really loves his country and wants the economy get better.
Yes you are wrong. Americans believe that they are the leaders of the world because one: they have the strongest economy in the world. Two: they have the strongest military in the world. The world revolves around the US dollar, and this is evident when the HQ of the IMF and World Bank is in the US. The US really dictates the terms for most countries because of that.
It shouldn't be. Romney has absolutely no scope of America's power and importance in the world. As much as other countries hate to admit it, we need America. And you need a president that understands that. Bush involved your nation in a lot of things he didn't need to, and now Obama is left to deal with it. So world conflict resolution is incredibly important right now. America started it, so America better finish it.
all I saw was more "blame Bush"
the thing i hated about this debate was barack obama just kept on trying to talk about mitt romneys past and if obama gets reelected this country is screwed...obamas health care plan is terrible...and hes a crappy president.
I just cannot believe in Romney. The end seemed so rehearsed and calculated. Obama seemed passionate and like he was truthful. Just the way Romney talks and the things he says. I don't believe what he says to be truthful.
Romney elected - pro for domestic issues and economy Obama elected - pro for foreign policy and world conflict resolution hard choice
Romney blinks.. a lot...
How is the USA the hope of the Earth in any way, shape or form? At least Obama admits the problems the US has created and is dealing with, Romney just spouts nationalism.
Romney is like a robot who just talks from his memory lol. From Obama responses you can tell he's very passionate about this country. Obama gots my vote!
Romney had this loving gaze towards Obama during the entire debate. I think Romney is gay and secretly loves Obama - or at least his policies.
This is the most one sided compilation of clips slanted towards Obama, I've ever seen in my life.
How do people take Romney seriously? Like really. All i have to do is look at him and i think "Bullshit"..
Romney wants to "kill all the bad guys.." So did I. When I was 6.
Obviously, the president is privy to more information on threats and situations around the world. He's the president, that's his privilege. The question is whether he's making the right decisions based on that information.
yeah Romney says that he is for peace yet does want to cut military budget. On the other hand he has his eyes set on cutting education budget, increasing class sizes and going after the struggling families and medicaid which serves many children and poor. Same old republican BS.
I take offence to this display of pure ignorance. Firstly, I'm not American so I can't vote. Secondly, we don't have massive houses because we have high taxes to support our FREE healthcare and services. Our roads aren't as big as American ones because we have a fraction of the population, but they're not small. And finally, the UK is an island with an island military. If we were a continental country we would have had a completely different military, so your point is invalid.
Hello daddy
Obama made voting cool to the younger generation! Right now, it's not soo cool to them! Most of you people for Obama aren't even going to vote, just over here acting like you know politics LOL! Obama's plan this debate was to debate back and forth with Romney, plan failed! Romney looked much more poised and professional.. I'm a Ron Paul guy, so I'll be undecided up until Nov. 6!
romney spent the whole debate reciting facts that mostly werent even true! i can do that! Obama shows he knows what he's talking about, is a leader, and deeply cares for the everyday person. OBAMA 2012
I think Romney is an actor, and a poor one at that
These are the type of people who vote democrat....
I just wish Obama acted more presidential. All these pithy comebacks and his sarcastic demeanor need to go.
