I was watching this game at 3 am local time and I had tears in my eyes. There were 2 guys in the room watching and one was an AC Milan fan, and the other was me. My favourite player was/is Juan Carlos Valeron. what a gamme...I had goosebumps the entire night. The next day I wore a Depor Jersey to my class and to my surprise people didn't even know which club's jersey it was. I resigned that day that there are 2 types of people: 1 that go with the band wagon and the other that go with good football and a good system. Ah men!

that is the last time we saw a great of Depirtivo La Coruna, i hope they comeback someday

Deportivo La Coruña was a force to be reckoned with in European football. At the first half of the 2000s they were regularly competing for the La Liga. On multiple occasions they finished over Real Madrid or Barcelona in the league. They were also a big threat for the top teams in the Champions League. Super Depor defeated AC Milan a couple of times in the early 2000s & reached as far as the Semifinal in the 2003/04 season. Sadly they're playing in the Spanish third division nowadays. A huge fall from grace for such a great club.

Valeron, what a player he was back in the day... there’s a blast from the past.

Depor got 8 from monaco,4 from milan in just 30 minutes. But if they were focused this happens.They were a threat to every team that time,especially nightmare for Real. Super Depor

Nerevar Indoril yup i still remember those days. those days depor would beat any team. they played so dominant. tristan and valeron were my favorite.

The 2003/2004 was the most amusing UCL season.

Deportivo last 90's and early 2000 were so scary in la liga and Champions with Talented players and defenders: Mauro Silva, Djalminha, Valeron, Naybet, Pandiani, Roy Mackay, Andrade, Donato, Bebeto, Rivaldo, Scaloni (actual Argentina coach), Luque, Fran, Diego Tristan, Hadji, Capdevilla (2010 world cup champion ), Molina, Pauleta, Sergio, Victor Sanchez, Songo'o, Rufai, ..... Estadio el riazor was like a cemetery for any team

One of the best match that i ever seen in my life. Deportivo La Coruna was a little dream team. Not many teams could to defeat juventus and milan in europe that years.

Seedorf said this was the most disappointing year cause they had an amazing squad and really blew it

sometimes it happened. Liverpool scored all their chances. I can't say that milan was bad against Liverpool. Against deportivo here i can say that.

He was not a well-known player outside of Spain and Uruguay, his native country. But he was a hell of a striker!! Shortly after this match, he played several seasons for my town's team (Osasuna) in Spanish 1st League and I can tell you he was one of the most memorable players we have seen over here. Not only was he a powerful and effective striker, but he was also a humble man. He always helped defend when the team needed and sacrificed himself when necessary for the good of the team. He is also remembered for the quarrel he had with Cristiano Ronaldo once when Real Madrid played in our field, when he was brave enough to stand up against the disgusting egocentric spoiled kid C.R. was (and still is). We appreciate Pandiani a lot here!

I watched this game at 4 am burning the middle night oil because of timezones and I cried at the end of the match because it was one of the most beautiful matches I had ever seen of an underdog do a David over Goliath!!!

Depor would have gotten to the finals of the champions league if not for (FC Porto) Derlei’s penalty against them. They were awesome! Pandiani, Fran, Luque, Valeron, Makaay, Silva, Molina, Tristan, Naybet etc could take ANY TEAM to the cleaners on a good day. They took “one-touch” football to its zenith. No team plays like that again! ☹️ Viva BIAFRA!!!
