Awesome build - thanks for sharing this. You're moving along quickly, but have obviously put a lot of thought into the build. Thanks for sharing how you mounted the autopilot servos. Very interesting.

Keep up the great work Gary. You are my inspiration! Question on your roll servo. Is that location your idea? Looks great! Why did you run a 'slave' cable' for the servo? Could you just run the main flight control servo around the capstan?

Thanks for watching. Its hard to find a good spot to put the roll servo, nothing lines up with the roll cable so I need to put a second pulley and then slave it to the Capstan to make it work correctly and safely. The location was not my idea, however the way I mounted it was.

@@HookedOnUtah Gary.. I have a huge favor. Is there anyway I can get my hands on a high res picture of your roll servo installation? I will be coping your idea, but would like a better view of the top down, side and bottom view for the control cable routing, and general mounting attachment points. Understand if this is too much.. but I thought I'd ask. My email is echopuppy@yahoo.com

You bet. What's your email address or Cell and I'll send them over! The location is not my idea, however the way that I'm doing it is my idea. No, you can't run the main flight control over the capstan, you need the second pull to line it up.

Can you remove the one piece back cargo panel without removing the header tank? Steve has his in two pieces, actually top half is a piece of acrylic. Just wonder how you might gain access for maintenance.

Yes, that’s how I access what’s behind! Super easy and you don’t need to touch the header tsnks

Do you have any concern that the lowest point in the fuel system is your line to the fuel pump, not the fuel drain from the header tank?

  • @HookedOnUtah

Wade, the way the header tank mounts and sits during level flight and on the ground the sump is the lowest point on the headed tank by quiet it bit.

I was wondering which engine you were going with. I thought you might going with the ePex, great choice! Which avionics are you going to use? Also, about how many hours per day are you putting in on your plane? It's coming along really quickly!! Great work and attention to detail!

Skinny Jake, a couple of factors, first I love Steve Henrys YeeHaw, it's wicked cool, second I could get a highlander with a 4 month wait, and the KF was 24 months out. Third, i want the Yamaha Epex 300TI.
