High School Dropout Rates Peak in NC - "Absent Minds" - A WRAL Documentary
Фильм және анимация
In 2005 nearly four out of ten North Carolina students were dropping out of school before graduating. Students who drop out tend to go down the wrong path in life, often getting involved in drugs and crime. Some say the problem is not just the students or their schools, but can also be traced to poverty and disconnected communities.
This documentary examines North Carolina's high drop out rate and what's being done to address it. Pam Saulsby hosts. The program first aired May 26, 2005. Data from 2018 showed that North Carolina public schools saw a decrease in crime, suspensions, dropouts and corporal punishment and an increase in expulsions, sexual assaults and possession of firearms.
