This was filmed in my hometown in N. Central Missouri, where I still reside! The big house still is there just a few blocks from my house, which was my paternal grandparent's house they built in 1955. It stands just outside one of the entrances to Simpson park which has a dramatic role in the movie. It's a pretty park with practically a forest of enormous old oak trees. Our town has grown to about 10,000 people from the approx 1,000 then. The scenes set outside of town in the country were filmed (in beautiful late spring) north of town a few miles between here & a town called Jamesport, which has a large population of Amish & Mennonite people. If u were able to locate the exact area where those scenes were shot, you'd find it looks almost exactly now as back then. The teenage hangout was just outside the city limits & was open til the late 60's-early 70's. I was born in '65 & I don't ever remember it being where my Granny said it had been, so it went out of business when I was very young. I don't know why they didn't show more of the town. It's always been a quaint, clean little town. As for the high school, it was built somewhere around 1930 (give or take a couple years). Granny graduated there in 1938. My father was going to that high school when this filmed. He graduated in 1960. Then around 2000 they built a new high school & used the old one for the junior high (or middle school, as its mostly called now). My oldest daughter attended 7th & 8th grade there but the 3rd floor at that time was unusable. Then, it was finally completely torn about 2009-10. I hated to see it go because it still looked much like it did in this movie & not terribly different when Granny attended (so she said) just a little shabbier. I am fond of old, vintage things & buildings in relatively original condition or so, between that & the fact that there was so much family "history" associated with it, I was terribly sad to see it go. Such emptiness there now. Imo, sometimes progress sucks. I've been an avid fan of old movies from the time I was about 10. I get a kick out of these old B flicks. I hope y'all found it to your liking, as well. 😀🎥

I had a friend back in High School who graduated at 22, and he looked about the same age as Ashley in this movie. Olivia Newton-John was 30 when she made a teen in Grease. It's a common thing in Hollywood, i guess.

Hated this flick....too much of a reminder of how painful the bullying was back in the day for me. Great film though...can't take that element away. So many memories of the 60s....

@Sharon Qaranivalu: I'm very sorry u were bullied when u were younger. I was born in '65 so obviously most of my school years were in the 70's. I seriously doubt bullying had waned much from what it was in the 60's. I endured my share of crap from different sources (as most do to some degree or another) throughout elementary & junior high years, but it had completely abated by my sophomore year. I can't begin to imagine what u must've gone thru that was so horrible it still haunts u even now. Whatever happened, be it verbal/emotional, physical, or both, I'm just so sorry that those people were so mean to u. I truly hope that someday you are somehow able to come to terms with what happened back then & you can finally have peace of mind. I sincerely wish I had some advice to help u achieve those things, but, unfortunately, I don't. Take care, Sharon. I wish u the best of everything!

How could a film this dated, bad and corny remind anyone of real bullying? *”So many memories of 60s”* Yes, High School Caesar is a film from 1960, but truth be told, 1960 was still very much part of the fifties era. Culturally, the Sixties as we knew it didn’t begin til after 11/22/63.

if you think about it, it feels like a modern criticism of capitalism, showing the main villian, Matt, as a spoiled boy who would rig everything to his pleasing like most corperations and the other guys trying to fight back. Like the lower class’ uproar against the upper class
