Oddly enough one of my favorite things about this campaign is Lucius's obvious flaw with money. I like he how loudly says how much he has, but not arrogantly, he thinks money can solve all of his problems and has no qualms with tossing it to whoever ask for it because it's money and Daddy will always be there to give him more so why hold on to it forever. It creates some funny moments and clearly showcases his imperfections.

My group came across the name problem in one campaign, and couldn't come up with anything. The next session villagers kept asking if we were the ones they had heard of and we all said, "Yes, we are The Ones". And from that point on, our group was known as The Ones.

Lucius and Vala's interactions bring me so much joy. Side note it would be absolutely hilarious if in this world they did have the name the broken sky and they set up a massive global charity.

Putting a comment now to prevent all the people telling me I'm wrong. I got confused at the end and kept thinking Nova's Hexblade Warrior was Pact of the Blade. Essentially it's all the same way of making it so that rather than using a specific magic weapon, Nova can keep the visual aesthetic of Tiangong but gain benefits of a magic item.

I noticed when she asked the cleric about rituals. Kind of got thrown that she's Pact of the Tome. Natural mistake to make with the design synergy that Hexblade and Pact of the Blade have. But if that's what a player wants to play *shrugs*.

@@woutvanostaden1299 This is really a more geared to the flavour thing. The point I was making was more about how Hexblade got made to better support Pact of the Blade. Granted that also kind of locks those things in for optimization reasons which can be frustrating. I think Undead pact can actually synergize well but I've mostly heard that second hand.

i like how mark keeps telling them to write stuff down but then forgets prices and things.

I love how sweet and generous and trusting Lucious is. I mean I know he is a little spoiled and niave but he really does just want to help everyone and make everyone happy. He is kind of like the friend that always wants to go out to lunch instead of making food, but when you say that you can't afford to eat out, they will offer to buy you lunch just to have your company because they can afford it.

I love that they discourage luscious and his blatant disregard for money even though it's basically kept them alive in a few different situations

I was looking at their character sheets on D&D Beyond, out of curiosity, and noticed Lucius had barely any money. At first I was thinking he probably gets mugged or something at some point in the later episodes, but I'm thinking now that he probably just immediately gives away any money he manages to get a hold of.

Mark: "However there's a slight tweak in ritual cost" Me: Between the hours of 6-4 Rituals Cost *insert larger amount* and between 6am today and whenever you first arrived it cost $300. That was a deal that has now ended

I love Mark’s story telling and how he describes the characters. I genuinely feel anxious with the Bruxstone character in the tavern lol. Lucius is always hilarious.

I'm deep in the rabbit hole and I just love the gang so much, such great contrast of characters.

Cold and Dark... Summons bursts of swords... hmm, I've got a theory, it's somewhat out there... I think Vahla is connected to Starbane in some way... whether directly related, or she's got some vestige of Ciasca within her, there's definitely more to her than just some Latent magical ability.

The riddle is easy it's Drake. Since there has to be two spaces between C and D that means they both came first and fourth, since there is one space between B and C, and B couldn't be second that means that C came first leaving D in last

Yeah! When I first heard Kim’s weapon name I was suspicious at the obvious Chinese name. When I looked it up I was like GODDAMMIT KIM YOU CAN’T KEEP DOING THIS. FIRST YOU MADE TEIFLING CULTURE INTO CHINESE CULTURE AND NOW YOU NAME A SWORD AFTER A SPACE STATION!!! (But it is still a cool name).

I love this! My only problem is they don't come often enough. And since this was the part that I watched live for the first time ever I have to wait even longer before the next part. I just want more of it.

Last episode Mark did specifically state that the Gnome took 10 platinum out of the payment when the unseen servant brought the pearl back after cleaning it.

I love how similar Nova and Vala are! It's like Nova is the slightly older, slightly more nerdy version of Vala!!

There is still a charge limit and I doubt Mark would allow them to use the hammer's properties for the purposes of removing that. It would be cool if Aila gets those abilities infused in her hammer though (if she does, please don't spoil it).

The new music is fantastic

I dislike how the gold pricing was handled. The players were told repeatedly that the cost was 300 gold, balancing the economy is fine but the price should only change for future services; or even just giving the players a heads up instead of the teasing remark would have been better. As a DM myself it just rubbed me the wrong way.

Benjamin Rivers I agree. It really felt like “oh you guys got a butt load of cash? Let me jack up the prices.” It would’ve been better to give a better explanation and keep the cost for healing 300 but tell them prices have changed and next time it’ll be 400.

Definitely understand where you're coming from but I've also definitely had the urge to do what Mark did before when I'd told the players the wrong price. Thankfully I don't have any friends who I GM for with notes like Kim so when I eventually do change the prices to the fixed number they just think it's because it's stronger than it used to be or something.

In real life if you flash a lot of money around unscrupulous people will certainly try to jack up their prices for you. I don't see how that is a problem. I doubt they have laws against such practices in the wild Lowlands of Aerois since even in modern times price gouging happens.

Tosh Omni But it wasn’t presented as a role play thing. If it was then that would be an RP aspect to overcome or deal with. This was entirely mechanics and incorrect pricing done by the DM. Rather than just being like “oh you had notes on what you *thought* it was hmmm?” It could’ve been handled better with a simple, “I calculated the prices based on the quest you guys were doing wrong. This is the current pricing that should’ve happened” The issue isn’t RP but rather how the change was delivered to the players as if they were wrong in their notes even though they weren’t.

The logic puzzle this week was quite simple. (This is how I worked it out. Typing as soon as Kim says the puzzle.) C & D were first and last, order unknown (A & B being the two between them) B was either 2nd or 3rd Depends on C (If 2, A is between them with C as 4 If 3, A is between them with C as 1) B could not be 2nd So B is 3 Which means C is 1 (A would then be 2) And D *Is 4* Thus on cleaning duty.

*Elven aging is like that in regular D&D as well!* The PHB says that elves reach physical maturity at the same rate as humans, but they're not _considered_ adults until they're at least 100 years old. It's like how hobbits in LotR are still considered children until they reach their coming of age at 33.

I often homebrew elves reaching physical maturity at 25 and not considered adults until 100 just because it often feels better to me.... but it vairies by world.

With elves I always go with 100/110 years until you are both mature in mind and body (hard to determine those last 10 years). They are a looong lived race with long childhoods. Also, it's funny when a human finds out that a elf child is like 40 years old and still be like a 10 year old.

@@CthulhuianBunny I don't think it gives a "pedo vibe" if you make sure everyone treats they like the child they are, and they act as the child they are. I never saw any player treating a elf child like anything else than a child, with just the occasional joke on "this fucking child has double my age!" and nothing more. I guess if the elf have like the equivalent of 16 years or something (which would be around 80 real years) it would be weird if there is a human in their 30's or 40's hitting on the elf with that pretense, but that would be looked down upon by society just like it would do normally if the elf was a human of the relative age.

I love his character: Lucius is pretty smart, but he's not a bookgenius like Nova, and he's sheltered enough that he's not world-wise (cows xD). He is, however, quite intelligent in his own niche and he's imaginative enough.

I’m with Lucius on this one- they don’t need 1500 gold. They can donate a considerable amount and help a lot of people, get Arval, Valla, Yousef and Quorin rooms and baths, fix Arval’s leg, and still have enough to support them to get to Goldthrone.

When they were approached by the random farmer, I was really hoping he was going to ask them to find out who slaughtered his cows 🤣

Seeing people complain about RP heavy stuff... jeez those people sound like no fun to play with. That said if it was all banter among players... yeah then that would be potentially a bit too sidetracked and I've had sessions where I've let that go on for too long but there was plenty of NPC and PC talk mixed in throughout and learning plenty about characters and the world.
