The 2000 rams offense was ridiculously good. The first team to ever gain 7,000 yards in a season. It's also worth noting that their defense was the worst in the league, giving up 471 points. The talent was there. However, turnovers would kill St. Louis, just like in 2001

For Three years the Rams had the most explosive and high scoring offense the NFL had ever seen. Also had a really underrated defense and were on their way to becoming a dynasty. Then they faced a little known sixth round draft pick in 2001 and now they’re back in LA.

I’m a lifelong Broncos fan, this will my 36th year as a fan. The 2000 season, and the previous disastrous 1999 season, was kind of the beginning of long-term mediocrity for the Broncos. The glory years the mid-to-late 90s were gone, as were the incredibly solid years of the 80s. They of course made the AFC Championship during the ‘05-‘06 season, but they really weren’t “good” again until Peyton came along in 2012.

Don’t get me wrong, Plummer is in my top 5 fav Broncos QBs of all-time, but I wouldn’t personally call him a savior. They definitely improved with him, but he only won 1 playoff game during his time there which was of course the game when they handed Brady his first career playoff L. Here’s to hoping that Payton can get things turned around!! Go Broncos!! 💙🧡💙🧡

Good choice. One of the best season openers for consumers of offense. Little did we know the Rams defense would be hideous in 2000. Broncos had a nice season, and Shanahan did a good job rebounding after the 1999 injury-plagued/FA/Elway retiring season.

At a time when myself and many other Broncos fans thought Denver that Brian Griese was going to be the real deal. He had a solid season that year and ended with him the second highest TD to INT ration at the time in NFL history, trailing only Steve DeBerg from 1990. Of course both of those records have been obliterated by the modern era, but 19 to picks to only 4 picks stirred up a lot of buzz back then! Had you asked me in 2000 who would’ve had the better pro career, Brian Griese or the other Michigan QB who had just been drafted by the Patriots, I would’ve said Griese all day. I thought he’d be a natural leader and be the Broncos starting QB for the next 15 years. His next 2 seasons couldn’t have been more of a disaster. Oh, and that other QB from Michigan does hold the current record for highest TD to lowest INT ratio! I have nothing but love and respect for Brady though!

@@heyheyhey33351 yes because they had the better divisional record. They swept the jets which was huge whereas the pats did not. AFC East had all teams in it at one point. Bills led at 5-1 at one point then collapsed at 7-9. Jets got Favre for just that year and were 8-3 leading looking like the best team in the afc before collapsing to 9-7. If they won that last game against the phins and New England lost, they would’ve won the division at 10-6. 2008 was a crazy nfl season for sure!

Which they won big against them earlier that year & that was without Warner & Faulk. Theoretically the NFC championship could've been at MN against the Vikings which even though it was on the road the Rams also won big against them earlier that year & the Vikings then played in the Metrodome which I think the Rams could've handled. Points can be affected when the offense turns the ball over 30+ times. Warner had 18 INTs in 11 starts.

2000 Rams easily had the best offense (& special teams). Being a fan of them that I knew they were going score & score big (other than playing in Carolina later this season)

@@kevonsidek9737I agree that as a whole well rounded team that 99 and 01 were better & more balanced but this 2000 offense was beyond lethal. Their defense was just downright bad (thankfully they fixed it big time in the off-season)

The Rams under Mike Martz were the exact opposite of them under Dick Vermeil. Careless turnovers, wasting timeouts and poor clock management

Wrong. They are terrible. The 99 jerseys were light years better.

All the rams game that year was like this lol they had to shoot it out with other teams cuz their defense was so bad and gave up so many points they literally had to outscore their opponents and their defense to win
