It's a beautiful and flowing style, but apart from the dramatic music, there is nothing here to suggest a real battle. What I see is two highly skilled practitioners practicing Aikido techniques cooperatively.

Ok folks, I've been practicing Aikido for over 30 years. Even I have to admit that it's time to start applying real attacks to the practice. We've seen this a million times at demonstrations and "youTube". Now, don't get the idea that I'm joining the bandwagon of people who thinks "Aikido is Bullshit", but it can be practiced in a practical way. Yes real attacks like from other types of martial arts. About 10 years ago this is what I began doing. There are adjustments to be made for the different attacks, but it's great practice and yes, it will work!! It's not anything that has to be proven to non-believers on youTube. Just invite your friends who study different arts to practice with you. Believe me, it will help.

Yeah, good idea. It will also give people a better idea of how students practice in other styles. People from various styles can learn different things from each other ,making practice more enjoyable.

It's not that Aikido isn't effective is that their training methods give a false sense of security and application. There is always going to be some level of cooperation in training techniques in any martial art but Aikido takes it too a new level. Fights are messy and unpredictable and I would like to see two fighters one Aikido testing these moves when fighting naturally against someone at a higher or equal fighting level.

Manuel Rodriguez en la vida real te romperia la muñeca o el brazo o te romperia la espalda al caer en el asfalto...aqui el oponente da la voltedeta para evitar que le rompan la muñeca pero un rival de la calle no lo sabe y se iria con la muñeca o brazo roto

Não subestime.

Не знаю, кто из них больший мастер, тот кто бросает или тот кто падает. Но падает очень красиво, технично, артистично. Думаю навыки падения более высокого уровня, чем навыки бросков. Практика боя показывает, что айкидо слабейшее единоборство, на фоне карате, самбо, джиу-джитсу, муай-тай, дзюдо да и многих других. Это единоборство направлено скорее на пьяненьких, неспортивных приставал или...против друзей и знакомых, которые протягивают вам руку, чтоб поздороваться). Хотя конечно какие то его элементы можно использовать в поединках, но против бойцов вышеперечисленных видов, айкидзин будет выглядеть глупо, красиво-падая

I have studyed 3 Kingdom style of Kung Fu for over 40 years now. I do not mean any disrespect in any way, I love the idea of Aikido. And was wondering if some one could explain when they have the chance, why does it look like the attacker is just " handing " his hand or arm to the defender? I KNOW that Aikido is VERY effective, but shouldn't the attacker be trying to actually strike the defender? ( if I could find a school, and my health was better , I almost died of diabetes with a blood sugar of 662, I would sign up. ☺☺

Se vé muy bonito. Es un "arte marcial" muy costoso y poco probado. Tal vez el beneficio sea la movilidad, las rodadas y ... nada más. Al ver el título del video, creí que al fin, dos practicantes habían decidido poner a verdadera prueba su arte y sus destrezas, pero resultó otro "show".

En realidad me refería poner a prueba el Aikido en un circuito de artes marciales. Al menos contra otro practicante de Aikido en un combate a sometimiento o knockout REAL!!!

Okay. Now do this to someone who does not practice Akido. Pressure Test! More intriguing to see if this works on another person who trains in another martial art. Obviously, any martial arts works on people who do not train in a martial art. More fun to see if this is effective on a real resisting person.

Ahahaha ya ves, menuda coreografia se montan, se nota hasta como dan la.mano para prestarse al derribo, cuando alguiente te ataca no te va a coger del brazo te va o a golpear el torso, la cabeza o incluso lo entrepierna, que es donde se deveria focalizar las llaves, menudo show, a la altura de circ du solei 🤣🤣😂

Hola @@MxxMaruxa entreno Karate do goju ryu, Box y poco de krav maga y con el respeto que se merece este arte marcial es muy curioso pero no creo que en un combate real cuerpo a cuerpo sea muy util ha decir verdad en un combate real muchos ocupan el "box"(aunque no lo hacen del todo bien) los golpes son rapidos y dudo que se pueda tomar a tal velocidad una muñeca Sin duda alguna un arte marcial interesante Saludos✌

A torção te força a ir pro chão. A queda é especial, porque faz parte do aikido. Um leigo vai cair desengonçado. Mas em parte, muitos movimentos, usam a energia do oponente. Pode se dizer que é uma cooperação.
