    Cantilever mills can produce harmonic imbalance as the mill head bounces a little. Most notably a frequency hum. May help tightening up mill stands and check blade tension.

    Happy Birthday to Mrs. Jason many happy returns. I noticed the lateral swaying of the mill and was going to ask if that was a normal occurrence, I would think it would affect the cut in the wood. Great video Jason thumbs up.

    Thank you, Craig! We had a great day. I should do a better job of cribbing the saw but it doesn’t effect the cut. The frame is very rigid and doesn’t flex. Those boards were straight as an arrow.

A Peavey, high lift jack, some straps is what I use for now 😂 I can produce quite a bit of lumber with it believe it or not😁 I enjoy it, grew up working in the woods here in Maine, not scared of a little hard work. Father was a log driver In the Moosehead lake region, so it's in my blood! There's just something so satisfying taking a raw log, making lumber and turning it into something cool! Enjoy your day!

    Jason, I’ll a king time viewer but rarely comment. Thank you for posting so many quality videos. I love all of your creative camera angles. I’m gearing up to purchase a mill and have a couple questions: 1) are you happy with your LT35? If you were purchasing again would you upgrade to the LT40? 2) how long is your deck? It looked longer in todays video. I would like to be able to mill 20’ boards, is that an extra challenge to accommodate in any way? Thanks.. John

  • @NorthwestSawyer

    @NorthwestSawyer

    Жыл бұрын

    Thank you, John! Great questions. I am very happy with my mill but had I known how fast it would pay for itself, I definitely would have ponied up for at least a 40 and possibly 50 with a wide head. All of the mills, 28 and up have a 21’ log capacity. You can buy extensions but the saw itself can cut 21’. It is challenging when you’re working with logs that long. You have to make sure your log is set just right but there are marks on the frame to show you the limits of the saw head. I hope this helps! Jason.

    That first blade did have a really different sound to it, I really thought you hit a bunch of metal on that one cut, Harmonic distortion, who knows? If it can destroy suspension bridges I wrecken it could throw a band saw blade out of balance? Overall, some beautiful lumber.
