High Density 4-type Hair? In a Wash N Go?! How?!

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Fatou comes to me every 2 weeks but she had her second child in Nov and it's been super hectic. Our last appt was on Dec 2nd so this was nearly 4 weeks wear. How does she do it? With her Coil Cozy™!

I’m so happiest I found your page! I followed what you said about low density fine hair. My curls came out beautiful!!! I had a lot of shrinkage without all the water, but it was pure perfection curls. So I can’t even care lol. Thank you for taking the time to share wisdom.

Yes! Remember, the more water, the more shrinkage and the less longevity when it dries. You will stretch with a blow dryer with the concentrator attachment. It’s important to avoid air drying or using the diffuser. It’s best to dry with a dime dryer.

My fro is still short so using anytype of buff and then fluffing I get so much frizz so I prefer to band lightly or just sleep on a satin pillow case until my hair reaches the length for a buff

Try a durag. Try using the heat from the blow dryer and just your index finger and thumb to lightly pick your hair. Your product combination will determine longevity as well. I have a few short-haired clients and their WNG’s last 2 weeks. The buff has more “curl catching” and wears out quickly. The Coil Cozy Bandeau has 12% spandex, 6% more than other brands so it will retain the style much better

I am new to wash and gos only because I can now do mousse only WNGs with the Doux mousse- I hate gels. I have found that I can capture the curl straight out of the shower on wet hair and I dont have to shingle as much as if it were just damp and it saves a lot of time. I just use a lot of product and apply it root to tip in sections by raking it through. I then sit under a dryer. The WNGs stays moisturized, lasts a week and could go longer but I prefer to wet my hair with conditioner weekly (I workout a lot). I have type 4a, mostly 4b hair, section of tight wavy high porosity 3c in the front- armpit length hair. Have you tried this way before? Is there a con to this besides maybe longevity? Wouldn't it allow for less heat use because you don't need to use a concentrator to stretch after coming from under the hooded dryer? I try to minimize heat as much as possible and I personally don't mind shrinkage because my hair naturally grows in a bob style 😂. I just discovered your videos yesterday and I have certainly learned a few things; therefore, I wanted to get your take on my routine.

It looks like you have your routine down. The one thing that I’d incorporate is cleansing more often. Use a surfactant- based clarifier and cleanser in your routine. Wash your hair once a week. It also sounds like you have more of a flat and smooth surface with coarse strands so you have your flexibility with holding products. Most of my detailed videos posted so far wouldn’t be applicable to your hair characteristics. Many tighter, finer and more rippled textured characteristics struggle with growth retention, longevity and curl definition. How often are you getting your hair trimmed?
