HiFi in Japan Audio Club Hibiki Nagoya Japanese Sound System Quest

While I was in Japan, went on, The Quest defined sound systems and audio electronics. In the 70s through the 90s Japan was one of the greatest producers of high Fidelity audio equipment. I have a friend who studied abroad for his college exchange program in Osaka Japan. He sent me back numerous pictures of hi-fi shops that he visited him. I had put it on my bucket list to visit some of those shops for myself to see and hear the equipment in real time. I was sad to find that most of the hi-fi shops from those days Had been replaced by anime shops for people who are into collecting figurines of their favorite cartoon action characters. As much as I can appreciate the passion for that hobby, I don’t share that interest, so it made me very sad to not be able to find all of the sound shops, so after much searching, I did find a few high-quality shops, nestled in the shopping districts. This is one of them Audio Club Hibiki. I was so excited to find their shop that I wanted to celebrate after all it was a very long trip from the United States to Japan. I have plans to go back, but this time I will have a more strategic plan for which shops to visit and where they are far ahead of time. As I learned, not everywhere posted on the Internet is still in business you need to contact ahead of time before traveling. Overall visiting Audio Club Hibiki was a treat, having my brother in law there to translate Japanese to English was very helpful, and we had a great time there.

Thank you for this video. It's nice to look at great audio equipment. To listen to the sound from the computer, I use the Japanese JVC JA-S11 amplifier manufactured in 1975. I also use Polish Unitra Tonsil Zg-15c speakers from 1982. Neither the amplifier nor the speakers are "audiophile", but I love the sound that comes out of them.

You’re welcome! It’s awesome to hear that you picked a “Unique for 2024” vintage playback system for your computer audio reference system. I myself Run mid 1980’s Yamaha 15” 2 way horn loaded PA speakers on a 1986 Crest Professional Model 4000 amplifier for my video playback on my computer.

2 years searching for separeted speaker Hokutone HA 160, 6.5" 8ohms, 10 watts, all range, made in Japan 1974/75. Cheap speaker, but with 8 in one cabinet, great sound! Over the whole world...nothing 😞😞😞 Can some body help ? I was 14, now i'm 63 😢

店が出来た頃に行った事がありました。 この店の近くにあるオーディオショップには行きましたか？ (斜め左前側方向にあるハイファイ堂) 動画の店から右方向に行くと、 サウンドプラザと言う店もあり現在は交差点の所に１店ありますが、 社長さんが亡くなり現在店名は、 ロイヤル サウンドプラザです。

Bollocks. The 1970s and 80s produced the highest quality and specification Amps and Speakers. Yet to be repeated.

I have found that there are two types of audiophile. Ones that chase super clarity (forever) and ones that enjoy a more laid back comfortable sound (that they eventually realize once they are done chasing clarity).

@@alanrogs3990 Correct. Once you attain the sound you believe then it's no point in 'buying up'. I still enjoy Speakers I made 40 years ago and have not heard better in todays offerings.
