    great video that helps everyone, thank you . everyone should try these studio standard cables that are properly terminated. they are used in studio and the mastering efforts from studio is more easily brought out, simply put its more musical . furthermore it's cheap just play around to find the right matching. in many instances pro cables can outperform much more expensive ones.

    Hi Tharbamar and thank you very much for your videos! I have no previous experience with audio cables, but after watching your videos, I decided to make my own just for fun. I replaced a QED Silver Anniversary XT with Canare 4S11 made by myself. This cable sounded better in the bass and midrange compared to the QED but had a big loss in highs and clarity, and it definitely needs a long break in period. After about 3 weeks of daily use, the sound become much clear, much crisper and articulated, it really was a surprise. Now I just finished making the Mogami W3082 and after the first 30 minutes of listening I must say that this cable is absolutely gorgeous. I don't know if this needs break in too, but straight out from the first use, the sound is out of this world, it is so amazing! I am thinking now after listening 3082 if it still worth making another Mogami w3104 as i was planning.

    I built a speaker cable based on Canare 4S11 and it is astonishing !! it replaced my much more expensive cable and it is the best speaker cable I ever tried regardless of price. I also tried building an interconnect with Belden 8402 and it is ok, but not spectacular. Too muddy and warm for my taste. The Viborg 09G-801 is much better (the cooper interconnect from Viborg). it has much more resolution, but it is not bright. Opens up the soundstage much more and injects air into the presentation. I also had Oyaide Class S USB in my system for the last few years. I agree that it is a great USB cable, hard to beat at any price. Recently I replaced it with Lucarto Audio Albero USB. This one is even better at similar price. Thank you for a great channel! I learned so much from your videos!

    Myself and two others I know had to pull the Canare 4S11 Star Quad speaker cables out of our systems. For me it actually caused my amp to overheat. Or more accurately, when the sonic issues were identified by all of us, the replacement cables allowed me to run at a higher level without the overheating problem I was having. I measured over 4db additional dynamic range. I went to some shotgunned NOS Monster Cable. Another person I know went to Belden 5T00UP.

I’ve seen recording studios with $10k monitors, hi-end preamps and consoles and pretty inexpensive but solid Mogami signal cables AND basic USB cables. Speaker cables, signal cables matters. USB, optical - they don’t as long as they are well built and cost no more than few bucks.

    I purchased the OFC version of the Canare 4S11, called 4S11G. I used tellurium copper bananas. I did not compare it with the 4S11, but I can say the the highs are open and airy, with a wide soundstage, deep bass, and accurate midrange. I play the piano and a C note sounds like a C note: clean, clear, open with little coloration. I have explored more expensive audiophile cables, but have no desire to go back. Also, these cables have low resistance, inductance and capacitance. Lower in I and C than a $3000 set of cables that have a battery pack. Allow time to settle in. At around 100 hours, the depth and 3D imaging become more apparent. The Canare website says allow 400 hours, but they sound great sooner than that.

    I have used the Mogami quad for interconnects and find it very good, especially for the phono stage to amp pair - I haven’t tried the Belden yet. The Mogami was at least as good as low/mid priced AudioQuest and WireWorld pair that I tried. I did use the Belden speaker cable and really liked it. Then I tried the WireWorld Mini Eclipse silver and to my ears it was significantly better than the Belden, so I bought an 8 ft pair for the main system.

    @@Tharbamar Yes by a HUGE margin. NONE of it makes any real world difference. What you are hearing is placebo effect based upon a HUGE biased in marketing alone. We call this in the market "stupid $h1t manufacturers say....". A standard cable BUILT for the situation will hold up. If you want to pay hundreds or even hundreds of thousands for a cable; the company already sold you on a false premise. Much like car amps saying they are rated for a thousand+ watts and only measure half or less of their "rated power". They intentionally lied to make the sale and it is a REAL problem in the pro audio field. Also labeled cables even coming from "x important company here" need testing as you get them as we have NO proper way to authenticate their validation. They make them and slap the cable together and toss them out without validating the results. Alot of the time the cable operation is MUCH less then it is labeled to output. With how they sell you on these products; you might as well be broke.

  • @benjamin1254

    I want you to sit down and do a double blind test and call out the cables as they are hooked up and compare them to say a monoprice or a amazon basics cable. I want you to openly call out what you think what is what based upon just cable swaps. IF you can prove to me there is a real auditorial change based only upon your hearing and another blinded tester whom has not heard them before as a base for backup and can come up with definitive non bias results we can talk.

  • @pgansz

    Yes. You can measure them with basic equipment. There is no measurable difference in them that is even close to audible to the human ear. The noise and distortion levels are so low it's completely inaudible. The difference between $1000 cable and a $20 cable is so close to zero it's laughable. See any number of measurements on AudioScienceReview or Audioholics. The differences you're hearing are confirmation bias and placebo effects. If you don't believe me try a blind study and have your wife swap the cables to see if you can tell.

  • @Tharbamar

    @Tharbamar

    @P Gansz, Measurements don't tell the whole story, what about guitar strings or violin string or microphone that record them? every musician knows there is the different in sound by minor changes but would you care for measurements of those, probably not if you know good sound. So basically you are saying pro studios where they record your favorite music uses snake oil cables? please try to visit George Lucas ranch(Skywalker) if you have chance, I don't think anyone from ASR or AH is respectable as sound engineers from Skysound studio.

    @@Tharbamar Thanks for the reply. You cannot discredit electrical engineers with hearsay. However, I also agree measurements are not everything. But, there is powerful snake oil here. The entire point of an amplifier's power transformer is to "condition" the power feeding the amp. Conditioning power before a power transformer is tantamount to suggesting your multiple thousand dollar purchase does not perform as intended. It's highly redundant and not necessary. I know it can be difficult to admit, but just try a blind listening test with cable swaps. You will surprise yourself. Confirmation bias with a new purchase for your hobby is very high - that's not news! 🙂 Really enjoy your reviews, thanks again!

    Hi! I like your videos but in cable misery it is just a subjective opinion. In the golden age of hi-fi (retro) just began the cable misery but if You had a good source, a good amp and loudspeakers connected with basic, ordinary cables-the system was perfect. The problem is that-in our time the quality of audio components - what is good or "premium" - in the golden age was ordenary. For example in old amps the transformer, the caps, the wiring, switches, potmeters were good or high quality from cheap to expencive. Now the cheap is plastic shit-You can try on any cables not will be better. The mid range is almost that what was basic in old times. And the better or best quality? You cannot buy on that price but if Yes-the cables will be the cheapest part of the system 😎🤔
