    TQ Andy for all the efforts providing so much info and updates of so many earphons and amps. I just got this mp145. You guys are so absolutely right and this help me to quickly settled the filter. This iem is pre installed with the rose gold and I find it so boomy in the mid end bass, and making me feel a little disappointed of getting this highly regarded iem. I can't remember of this video that it should use the silver or rose gold. I quickly changed to silver and wow, the filter really change the tunning of this iem. And I watch your video to confirm that the silver is the right one for the later batches of this iem. Indeed it is way more balanced and neutral now with the silver filter. I love this iem so much! Oh! I can blast this iem louder and the low, mid and treble are just so perfectly balanced for me. This iem is simply a gem for the price.

    Dunu S & S are great for taming resonances in the upper freqs. As they are from smooth and soft-ish silicone. So they dont cut extension (quite opposite/they wide bore) but are ,,ironing,, peaks.

    Just like what HBB said, MP145 is good but Hidizs is not a good company... They should make an official announcement about this and make sure every new product has an indicator for which version it is. I'd be furious as a paying customer if I got the version I don't prefer just because I purchased it sooner/later. Luckily, I prefer warmer IEM and am slightly sensitive to treble, so the newer set is perfect for me. Both the neutral and bass nozzle sound amazing to me.

Shame that Hidisz done this without informing us and for me, this is a red flag for any future buys from this brand. Also, I still think the MP145 really needs a lot of Power to truly shine.. So I think I got one of the first of the second revision, I can confirm it was noticeably warm, even on the brighter nozzles, though there is still planar brightness in it. But on the warmest nozzle planar timbre is almost eliminated and it is VERY warm, too much for me. But still it sounds great, I actually liked it more because it was not S12-like, which I think the 1st revision ones are. That's no excuse though, stealth revisions in chi-fi have been a problem for a while, companies have to be transparent about it, call it a variant model with an amended name and be honest instead of banking on old reviews.

    the next step would be to open the IEMs and check the drivers. Of course if you two still love the MP145 then don't feel pressured to do it. This type of manufacturing change can have many causes: 1-corporate greed (save some dollars in each unit by going to different components) caused by Hidizs specifically ordering whoever is manufacturing to switch components; 2- corporate greed but it could be Hidizs just uses a third party to manufacture the IEM and this third party made changes without telling Hidizs and it didn't picked up the changes (plus Hidizs being incopetent for not noticing it somehow); regardless of the cause, having this variation for a 160 USD IEM is unacceptable. This is a premium price range in which the consumer is giving a vote of confidence to the company and deserves to be respected. At the very least Hidizs should have announced this officially

  • @przem7827

    @przem7827

    This is not acceptable and this is similar to Kingstone's case with SSDs. Hidizs should inform about changes on time and make changed version recognizable or im another way they could clarify modification and impact on sound. Choosing IEMs customers use reviews but MP145 reviews are not valid now. Hidizs current reaction is funny - they react because of customers confused, no sorry and still no detalis about modifications. The reason I am writing this is because I found differences on sound comparing to your reviews and found issue with left IEM...which was new. It was rattling with MID bass so finally returned IEMs. I am confused because of Hidizs company's policy and customers treatment and also quality Control. Be honest...this is not the same product. With earlier version we also had nozzles and be able to modify characteristic so in case of any change inside IEM you will have also differences in impression using different nozzles. Maybe this is still good product but Hidizs company made step in wrong side

    New subscriber from Paris [Fr] I really appreciate your presentation and description and also the criterias for your ranking data. Ok, got the new gen MP145 following your review. A bargain @ €110 aka blue with 4.4 bal. it doesn't seem to be a favorite sale but I don't care i'm not a fashion victim. Lucky as i'm, one mesh was missing on the neutral tunning silver filter ! 😅 I'll either to order new box of tunning filter at Hidizs or else or detroy an unused filter. Change to 2.5 balanced and silicone tips wide bore with slightly longer lip for deeper fit in the ear canal. Portable source : Hiby R3 + Cmoy amp [ _Burr Brown opamp_ ] or Tube amp on desktop ( _both amp. component are slightly warmish and smooth_ ). + lots of DSD bit perfect files. Am I right with my ear tips choice ? Any better solution to limit the warmness and get more open stage ? I'm not Opamp and Tubes swapping just for the MP 145 🙄 Many thx 🙏

    That's sad. I have the latest version. I think it sounds good, but I want to know what the OG version sounds like. Is the latest version with the rose gold nozzles not good to your ears, Andy? How was it?

    As mentioned in this video, the rose gold nozzle is warm sounding on the new verison, but perfect for the early gen. For the newer version, it sounds much better with silver nozzle (silver nozzle on early gen will sound very bright)

    Why not just measure? There's unit variation as well, maybe in the nozzles as well, so comparing just two proves nothing. I got one two days ago and it sounds really nice. Certainly no obvious issues in the treble with the default nozzle. Haven't tested the others yet. Better than Timeless unlike S12 and a few others so an easy recommendation.

    Going by personal experience, it does change the sound. If the cable is broken somewhere, no sound comes out from the drivers. There's the change. 😅

    @@LeDechaine Yup, i have similar encounter. I genuinely whole heartedly believed people that it doesnt make a difference and went with that for years. One day i use a simple cheapie KBear 3rd party cable (which i bought for purely aesthetics to match my desk tone) without paying attention or looking for differences and i was just listening to music because i never believe it anyway, and it stopped me doing whatever i was doing because i could tell the sound was different. Maybe luck would have it that coincidentally i had been listening the same IEM (single dynamic driver) for sometime and very very familiar with its sound with stock cable. When the cable was switched, i swear the difference is there. For my case, i believe the stock cable i was using was actually lower quality which had limited the full capability of the IEM giving me a thinner sound and missing fullness. I actually kept this stock cable because its my evidence that there is a difference
