And here I thought we'd seen the last of WW1-themed Doom mods. Fortunately, that is not so. Really like this map, the atmosphere alone is top notch, and goodness me is it a hoot to finish. Will wait for any next entries in this mod with great anticipation.
Doing this one was a bit tricky, both in the technical and actual ingame department. Had to rip out the wires on the actual gameplay mod itself before I can play it with HDest. Changed up some stuff as well like the sounds and what not with stuff that fits my personal tastes better. Ingame, it's quite a big map, took me a couple of retries. Had a power outage in one of the retries midway, deep heartache on that one. Steeled myself and retried one last time, finally got it.
Ugly as Sin will be joining us for today. It's a very significant mod, adding things like hunger, scarcity, corpse looting, advanced AI, a more detailed medical kit, and so on. I rarely play with major gameplay changing mods back then 'cause I wanted to keep the NFRs mostly pure, but hey, a little variety never hurts here and there. 'Sides, I got another major gameplay mod going after UaS.
Accensus' Follower returns! Been a while since my last Follower run, isn't it? Since this map is a real pain in the neck visibility wise (especially with those enemies that go back and forth on top of the walls randomly and could easily catch you off guard), I decided then to employ his help once more. A real lifesaver, I will say for certain.
