In Japan, video games are lower than movies and fine art. Hideo Kojima wants to bridge between video games and movies. His greatest achievement is that he linked the video game experience itself with storytelling.

In Japan, absolutely. However, in America, he is but one of the big influencers and pioneers who bridged the gap between storytelling and game. Amy Hennig is another extraordinary storyteller on the same level as Hideo. The Soul Reaver series is one of the finest, complex, and literary deep stories ever told in human existence. And it really did bridge the gap between film and games! Hell, the game was inspired by Paradise Lost, one greatest epic dramas ever. However, it pisses me off that Amy's Soul Reaver series doesn't get the credit it deserves because it was too strange for most gamers when the game was released at the time.

Many Japanese think video games are just a way to kill time or play for children. Japanese people often play casual games on their smartphones, and the Nintendo Switch is more popular than the PS4. It is common to recognize that MGS4 and MGSV are very core games. For Japanese youth, Snake is just a character of Smash Brothers.
Ey die Fragen fand ich alle gut. Feines Interview
Guess Kojima is never going to retire because I'm always going to support him. I love his games and they've always taken really long, but I love being patient with them because they're more rewarding than games usually are. I'm so excited that I was even able to support him before Death Stranding came out. I dont know what he will make next, but I'll not hesitate to support it for his and my benefit.
He's a true visionary. I'm so excited for Death Stranding

Kojima: they say i give up easily Also kojima: breaks up with konami, lost all his IPs, has little to no crew or funds, manages to start up Kojima Productions, hire so many people, even old ones from konami, makes one of the most anticipated games of all time.
