Can you connect an HDMI input to the anker (or such device with an additional HDMI port)? Exempel having an HDMI from a PS or PC connected to the google Chromecast via anker, without having to have it connected the extra HDMI input to the tv directly and having to change the source on the TV to access it. With this also being able to use chromecast connection to nest audio and such for sound, from the ps or PC.

Great Help. I just got my new Google Chromecast TV. Your videos helped me get the most out of Chromecast. I'm not very familiar with controllers. Which other controllers besides the ps4 are suitable for playing games? Do you have a tip?

Hey Peter - Honestly, you're going to find most Bluetooth controllers to be great! I would suggest one of the new XBox controllers or a Ps4 generally, but there are many Bluetooth controllers that you can try through Amazon and then send back if you don't like the feel in your hands!

Great video, crazy how customizeable! One related and unrelated question. I currently have my Chromecast connected through Wi-Fi. At a point that is pretty distant from the router but can still stream 4K video most the time. After several days and I seem to run into a point where it seems to always be loading or going to lower resolution. I unplug it and plug it back in and it goes right back to working perfectly. It seems I have to repeat this every few days. Is this something you have experienced with your Chromecast?

The instructions for Duo work great ! Question: ● While In Duo app, is there any way to enable a popup to open/close the large contact list showing on the left side of the screen? It cuts screen in half. ● Viewing Duo on a large 4k LED Smart TV using a connected 720p video camera. Picture resolution is pixelated. Will a better quality camera allow Duo to improve resolution to 4k? Thank You

The contact list goes away for me when I start a call! Is that not going away for you? So I haven't tried a 4k but I'll say that a 1080p camera has performed at full resolution and it looked great. I don't think Duo can use the 4K just yet because of data rates. This is essentially the mobile version of Google Duo and so it's doing the same thing as your phone camera does. With lots of phone cameras being 4k...you'd think we'd see that kind of resolution, but we don't. So I think your TV is just going to be better than this for a while!

New Questions: Is there any way to connect into the new Skype Meet Now product on the Chromecast TV ? (possible sideload ?) What would be the best, clearest webcam video camera to buy when displaying on a large screen LED TV -- such as a 65" UHD - Samsung model ? Thanks again ! excellent site !

I'm not an expert on the webcams, but you should be able to try the sideloading of Skype. It's not something native, so you will have to just try all this out.

i wish i could use the power button to not only turn on my chromecast and tv but my chromecast, bose soundbar, and tv. Unfortunately its either one or the other tv or soundbar but not all three

That enough for me 😆. No way be proud of yourself you deserve it. And the joke's on me now it was 78 degrees Fahrenheit a day ago. It is now 32 degrees Fahrenheit. But my condo is nice and perfect the Emerson smart stats switch from Air Conditioning to Heating and it's perfect temperature. Keep up the great work it was a good video and I know you invest a lot of time in this. And thank your wife for all of us for putting up with it. Mike

Mandatory as far as I know. Hard to buy now too, so we might need to find a new hub to try out.

1. vlc on my mobile can I cast video from it to chromecast/google tv with audio in tv ? 2. can u try and play hevc files blue ray rips on vlc directly with google tv? as on fire tv it does not play hevc file, but vlc on my mobile plays fine !

1. VLC I got the app for on Chromecast and that works. You should be able to cast though...I was casting my Wyze Cam through VLC well before it was available.

Can I use the computer chrome as the previous generation to project to the TV?

Can Nordvpn be installed and work on this? I know I have the option to install it on the router but I don't want to do this because "reasons". I live in Panama but I would like to access Prime and Netflix UK. Hope you can help. Great video by the way.

Kevin O. What you can also do is jail break it, they also call it ( side loading that's with adding another app and you could watch most shows on TV that's including Netflix Amazon ,Stars etc.. this guy has a video showing how to... get it

great videos , excellent guidance about the whole chrome cast ,,.i have a windows 7 -10.1 screen lap top ,,does the chrome cast rely on the computer, i,ve seen how the mouse etc can connect,, or does it stream through the modem, directly to chrome cast ,, which i think it does,, could you give me an answer please ,, also a Merry Christmas to all and wishing every one a great ,, better ,, 2021

The Chromecast doesn't rely on a PC at all, and there's even an option to set it up entirely on a TV! However, you will need a Google Home app and account on some device to register it :) Merry Christmas!

I think you will have to do that in the settings for your TV on the HDMI port you're using

I think that's a little too far sadly. I don't think I've seen a way to do that, but you could open it up and maybe get it to the search page.

Android really only lets you do 1 with most apps, so it doesn't matter

I have the same usb c hub and power adapter but my usb logitech keyboard isnt working. Also my logitech usb gamepad isnt working. Do i need to change anything to the default settings?

I didn't have to change a thing. That sounds like maybe you need to test that the port or the power adapter is providing what it needs to... Could be power, or just a faulty port?

I have a Mi Box S I think it runs android TV not google TV (I bought it in the USA and brought it back with me to Canada). I think I can do a lot of the same things with that but I need to try some more.

The google chromecast and playstore have been revamped to prohibit some application installs for example brave browser and even some gamses. So I guess you can try sideloading but from what I've seen sideloading is even hit or miss with the Chromecast.

I think that's where direct calls to APKs is better with what I showed in this and the previous video. The browsers make it easier but that tool is unique in that it can bring you a direct apk install. Same with dropping it onto a USB key!

@@AutomateYourLife I know this was an older thread so thanks for replying still. Yeah I ordered both anyways the other day after watching your video. It's always been annoying to me Smart TV manufacturers dont include any real basic drivers. Then I got the Chromecast and it supported Duo and I was like okay? And then the storage issue...smh...It's like we're going to introduce all these new options but not make it easy to accomplish...lol...for a non technical average user it has to be a nightmare. Some people still dont know for 4k and HDR all your equipment has to line up perfectly while the moon aligns just right as the wolf howls....lol

Can't say I tried, but you should try! I would think so, but you'll need that good controller.

....And at no point did you show whether playing games on Stadia with Mouse and Keyboard was possible. Yes I mean the exact experience as on a PC with left, middle scroll + click, and right mouse button functioning normally. Android usually sucks with a mouse hooked up because the right mouse button just works as a "back" button. Did you get it to work correctly? I'd love to skip my pc for stadia when doing mouse+keyboard games.

Yeah so I don't even remember trying that. It worked with Steam with a mouse/keyboard but I think I only ever played Stadia with the controller.

I get your concern. But to me and for many others, the playback speed is pretty important. For me, it is actually a deal-breaker. I bought one just few days back and I'm thinking of returning it coz it didn't serve my purpose. I generally watch videos between 1.25 and 1.75X speed depending on the content.

I thought Stedia already Launched and Failed.
