@skyepilotte11. Thanks so much for those comments. I know my videos have so much room for improvement, but I post them anyway, just to try to share the enjoyment. It’s nice to hear that someone else enjoys them to.

That almost looks like an Barbary Moorish Castle or Tumerian/Egyptian satellite camp! 😮 4:14

@Shannon Nickoloff Lol. Hey Shannon. Nice to hear from you. Yeah we have so much fun down there in the summer, flying around with our windows open exploring all the cool places. I’ve got several places circled on my map that I want to go to next time. Can’t wait!! Hoping to head out your way soon, there’s a little plane I want to look at in Seattle. I miss the Northwest.

Terrific use of the 360 camera, I always enjoy your videos. Makes me want another Husky, or perhaps a Carbon Cub, again.

@Elk Circle. Hi. Thank you. The 360 cameras sure help, I’d need a camera crew without one. I know what you mean about another plane. I’ve got a Husky, and I find myself wanting another. The guy I bought my Rocket from is building a Carbon Cub. I joke with people that he’s building it for me. I think you should just “do it”- get a Husky or CC. You can always turn around and sell it.

@RECKEM ROYS RC. Hey Reckem. Isn’t it amazing! You fly south for the desert or north for the forest, it’s perfect. In hind sight, I should have had Joe come up next to me for some pictures of his Cub. Actually, he’s just borrowing that Cub while his BirdDog is in the shop. Thanks for watching on this late Friday night. Happy Holidays.

How did you like landing/departing at hidden splendor in the Husky versus the 185? Great footage "Wheels"! I love hearing your comments and ADM.

@Jesse Splan. Hi Jesse. Husky just feels more nimble being lighter and it uses a little bit less runway! Better visibility and I like a stick vs yoke. And it uses less fuel, but goes slower, so in the end may be pretty equal. I fly the Husky much more than the 185, but when I fly the 185 regularly, like when camping for several days at Johnson Creek, I notice my landings get much shorter with practice. My 185 has the Robertson STOL and vortex generators on the wings and tail. I’m always amazed at how slow I can approach and still feel stable. Of course I haven’t flow any other 185’s and don’t consider myself an experienced 185 pilot. So far, I haven’t been anywhere in my husky that the 185 couldn’t also go. I think some 26” tires on the 185 would be a nice compromise between speed and backcountry flying - Because I’m loving my 29” on the Husky. Not that they’re necessary, they just make everything smoother. Plus, they give me more confidence that if I had to make a forced landing, I’d have more options with the bigger tires. I got the 185 thinking I could take my whole family camping backcountry. But in reality, I found I don’t like all my eggs in one basket. In fact, I took out my back seat , so now both the 185 and Husky are two seaters. Which is fine, I seem to never have more than one person with me. I was thinking it would be pretty cool this spring if we could get a bunch of backcountry planes over at Ryan’s grass strip and do a backcountry comparison. I have to say, my boys favorite thing about the 185 is watching everyone cover their ears on takeoff roll, but I really like my Husky! Have you started your list of everywhere your going once your plane is ready?

@Gene Karmann. Hi Gene. I use to wonder the same thing. Then I bought a 360 camera. As long as it’s properly mounted, the pole/boom holding the camera doesn’t show. I have mine mounted on a boom the sticks out from my left wing tip. I made a video a while back showing how. Check “Wheels in the Sky” “How to Mount Cameras on Airplanes”.
