What the hell are these notes you speak of? Only notes I’ve found for “stashes” are vultures roost and mantis. There are also data collectors in ships that will sell you locations of caves with resources.

Same for me, the provisioner is never selling anything in that category. The category works find for regular vendors. Maybe it's a mod issue.

Same here! Not only that, but In my 100 hours, I have never, not once, had a Traded Authority Kiosk every have ANYTHING to buy. It has always and only been a place to sell 5000 credits of items and that is it. I do play very slow and have just yesterday visited Hopetown for the first time and am only on my first place through (rarely save so don't think I should have that issue ever) and I am only on the Main Quest 7 of 19 main quest "All That Money Can Buy" so if you find out if it is locked behind something, please share and Ill do the same!

400hrs plus, never found one of these. NG+1 and never seen them in my first universe either.

So i was just exploring this strategy and it appears that all of the ouposts are the same one everywhere you go, you have to do the 48 hour wait to recycle the items so you can probably just stay at the same outpost instead of trying planet to planet

I just went to a provisioner at an industrial outpost and bought a note to a stash of memory substrates, floating in space. There were 6-8 crates with 40 substrates. No legendary weapon, but the notes to loot stashes do exist.

Thanks for the vid, I have managed to find a note but only at a "Provisioner" at a civilian outpost. Any "Trader" even at a civilian outpost would not spawn a note no matter how many time I reloaded. But what i have noticed that the note you get on an initial visit or re-load will always have the same legendary effects but it will randomize the weapon. EX: When I found the vendor "Saved" then read note it brought me to a Advanced Bridger with (Anti-Personnel, Handloading and Concussive), "Reloaded" then read note and I got sent to a Wakizashi (Same effects) , "Reloaded" and read note and It sent me to a Advanced Maelstrom (Same Effects). So it looks like you need to different notes for different effects buy waiting in-game time to reset the provisioner. Lv 112 1st NG+ Completed Freestar Ranger, Vanguard and Crimson Fleet Quest lines. Main Quest line is only at "Into the unknown - Go to Procyon III" I found my note at the civilian outpost POI on Washakie in the Cheyenne (Lv1) system

I think that's just always the perks you get if you don't save scum before opening the chest. Like it always defaults to those perks. Concussive is my favorite perk though so I'm stoked lol. Not 100% that ss before opening the chest changes things... Just the video says it does so it has to be true lol.

I picked up a Note for Stash location at a random Civilian Outpost vendor (level 60 planet?) about a week ago. Following your advice I thought I'd try Trade Authority (in this case on The Key). I'm level 48 so not too far progressed. I've largely ignored Faction quests (started Constellation and Crimson Fleet but never complete).

This is amazing! Whole new way to play! Thank you

I found this my last game (5th game played) and two of the 3 weren't even guarded so no combat necessary... probably. Also i didn't bother save scumming as every weapon came with the same legendary perks. Very nice ones, concussive handloading (i think?) And anti-personnel so great... Didn't realize you could save scum as these are pretty great anyway lol. I wonder if you can get armor from these though... But when you get the quest it tells you what kind of weapon it is, so if it's a melee or kraken, you can just ignore it😅

There is another cause for empty ships. There is a mod to fix it called "ship encounter script fix" . It worked for me but I have heard that the mod does not fix it 100% of the time.

So a way to get legendaries but can't show us? Plus trade authority kiosks don't sell items, they only allow you to sell or buy back.

My first 200 hours, I had similar issues with things not happening that should’ve been then I uninstalled Starfield and reinstalled it, and now everything works.

It seems to be that sertain locations and loot only apear in different playthrues.

I have gotten Epic items from these notes as well. Unfortunately, they do not seem to be always Legendary for me...

I've never seen it @240hrs. Last play i had 3 random outposts spawn within a thousand meters of a Spaceshio crash site location.

As soon as I saw this I went to Mercury in Sol and found one

3:55 saves don’t affect the empty ship bug. It’s another counter that’s not being reset. That’s why PC players can clear it with console commands. It’s discussed on Reddit.

It alla started with me stealing a Starborn ship before I was supposed to get one. From that point on I had the empty ship bug. It only reset after I started a NG+.

When I hit lvl90, that's when I stole my starborn ship. I'm still on my first playthrough.

Archimedes III (and the other planets/moons in the system) does not have the civilian outposts that your game has.

You know I'm thinking the game is a little deferent with every install, I seen people do things and it won't do it for me, but it does something else for me. I seem to get the best drops from lv 15- 30 elites, not the 90+ ones, I have found 6 of those galbank credtank or cache, I found the blue top Contraband cache will change into the galbank cache, if you die a few times, but just reloading it will not. that could be just me.

so instead of saving before killing a big baddie and reloading that save (30 seconds the most) now we save before checking vendors and reload that save (could take 5 or more minutes). check. cool video but I prefer the first one, you can get more than one baddie in one place (having more chances to get that legendary) and it is more fun, also you get XP too. the other one give you just 1 chance.

This is the second time ive heard of this. The first time was on reddit a couple days ago. Based on what I read itnhad to be civilian outposts in lvl 65+ systems Edit: i should clarify that i have not tried this myself yet

I literally played that location for the fragment 2 days ago.

FYI one of the latest patch might have removed this. Players who use this no longer able to.

Looked for a few hrs on the planet and trade authorities and still haven't seen one

I think it the vanguard mission I only found them on new game +

I just gotta say , do not sleep on lock picking every little thing. At first I pretty much ignored it as it was boring and monotonous. I've gotten some really good weapons from safes.

I have the empty ship bug. Makes it so there is even less to do.

I collected a few bugs along with the empty ship bug… i also had a save game issue where i was running out of space for my games even tho i have 1TB of space ………it would only let me save 5 save games by the time i got fed up……..I cured all bugs by completing the first pass of the game and trying NG+…………one of the main fun parts of the game is blasting a ship and then boarding it and blasting em all……….was gutted when the ships where empty……….i also found i couldnt pinch ships they were always sitting there with no landing door open………drove me mad………..but like i say NG+ is only way i know to cure problem……….annoying tho i had outposts…..great gear…….and 3 million credits and had to lose the lot to cure the bugs……….hope this helps…….

It always triggers the quest the minute I buy them, no need to read a slate or anything just exit out of the vendor menu. You can be just ignoring the quest though.

294 hrs 53 minutes in and NOW you tell me. At least I have something new to check out now 😊 Also: you can see what the weapon is before you go trekking off into the cold darkness of space. You only have to save right before talking to the vendor.

They only showed up for me after I went into NG+6 after my game went t*ts up

and ya, the weapon case glitch is gone now. the new update killed it, but I managed to get another 700 weapons from it before it was killed lol I will try this one to see if I get lucky

I'm NG 10+ level 96 or 7 at this point, but I've gotten these things and mineral surveys since the beginning of the game.

My ship glitch only went away when I went to NG+

I am at level 149 and waiting until lvl 200 to go NG+. I guess I will never see one of these as the game crashes 30 seconds after starting. Have reported it 12 times over the course of 30 days now to Bethesda support and two days ago they finally responded for me to upload a broken save file so their advanced team can review the issue. Waiting for them to provide a remedy for the immediate crash as soon as I try to do any type of action to include just starting to walk around. Also still have the pet asteroid following my spaceship. I know this because I am stuck in space. Can’t land or travel or jump anywhere, I can get out of the pilot seat and walk about 10 feet before it crashes. I am also spreading the word not to buy as I spent $69.99 for a game I played for two months and have not finished and seems I never will be able to finish. Have tried all of the suggested fixes several times and probably have wasted 4 hours of my life reinstalling the game several times. Playing on Xbox X if anyone wants to know the platform.

They’ve been working on a fix for this. Basically everything in the game is issued a number in the code so the game engine can read what each thing is. Problems arise in long playthroughs that don’t NG+ because the game basically runs out of numbers to use. Until they come up with a better one Bethesdas’ fix is going to be to reload an earlier save and NG+. 😢

Numbers are infinite so no reason to run out. If a player is only allowed to play up to a certain level and then must go ng+ then that should be mentioned in the release notes. Also saves only go back a couple days as the game constantly requires saves to be deleted to make room for more. I can only keep 11 saves.

It’s a flawed system in an equally flawed game. It really could have used another year of development to test for and iron out all of these issues. I agree it’s not much good having a loot based game where you can only collect to a certain point. Personally I don’t find it worth trying to play until it’s fixed. I’ve got Ships & Weapons I really don’t feel like building/Finding again Currently.

feel for you , in the same boat level 124 just crashes every time you try and do anything . unfortunately i have not gone far enough in story line to start new game plus , even if i wanted to . only have two choices available , as far as i can see . one pray they sort the problem out ( not likely , they obviously designed the game that way thats why nothing transfers over to new game plus ) or 2 delete all my saves and start a fresh game .

Am i the only one who calls BS on this? Is this just PC? Or console as well? Why was the beginning so fast? Could barely see if he was selecting resources or aid? Buying from kiosk? You cant. Tried a few and felt like this was a "snipe hunt".

We can build any legendary weapon we want using the console command. To be serious, a legendary weapon need to be unique in design and attributes and Bethesda don't do that in Starfield.

I have over 700 hrs into game and never have seen any of these anywhere!!!! I quit playing game now, to many bugs and weird crap happening!!! Went back to nms, fallout, and more space games! Dont really have any problems with other games. Besetha needs to fix there f%@$# game. I have told anot of players not to purchase this game until they actually fix it.

I have a couple of characters, and I couldn't find any for them. A case of a KZreadr not testing it to see if it actually works. 😢

"Have you checked?" No! Never thought of it. Thought it was just books and shit so just tried it about 20mins ago and a "crap vendor" had 4-5 (ADD in it's prime, working as it usually do for me) which I bought. Wasn't legendary but instead some resources and an Osmium Dagger (which might be legendary; text doesn't tell). 🤷 But it doesn't matter since without your vid I’d might've missed this as well. 😊 Imo: all help is appreciated. 👏🙋 So the least I could do (which I did) was to throw a like + a sub if there might pop(don't wanna know what I accidentally wrote here first 😅) up something else. 🙋🤴
