@@shawermus I don’t know how birthright would affect the reflection. It would probably have tainted Lazarus’s dead and alive version have their own individual reflections. Or maybe not because the other version appears as a ghost? I would have to test it out at some point to see for myself.

Damn I just got a crazy idea. Imagine if while wearing either Spelunker hat or Host hat and getting Damocles'd you were left at half a heart and the item protecting you disappeared along with Damocles. Would be a cool mechanic

an interesting sort of thing I remember about sanguine bond is that the spikes are also in krampus' room and can hit flying enemies just like the sac room spikes, the result is krampus' getting bent because they share the same spawn tile

My guess would be it was planned for the glitch chests to actually be able to spawn and be openable but they decided not to do that but just reused them for the broken motem effect and didn’t realize it was possible to actually open them lol

if you turn into lost by touching white fire place and take “lost soul” item, the lost familiar will gain holy mantle for the rest of the run.

About that last one, invincibility frames in this game are directly correlated to how much damage you take, so if you take 2 damage from the BIG champion, you also get double invincibility frames

This is true until Chapter 4, where Every source of damage becomes Full heart damage. The Invincibility frame rule still applies though, So if you are in a situation where you can take a regular or Champion hit, Taking the Champion hit is grants more I frames.

The Tainted Lazarus bug with Bone Spurs also applies with the Boney and orbitals from Book Of The Dead, giving you an army of Boneys

If you use keepers box in a boss room after using satanic bible, it'll cost soul harts for items or have spikes around consumables, this even works retroactively if you use the satanic bible after and reenter the room

hey I found a neat interaction to break the game the other day if you use Keeper's Box to spawn a shop item and have Restock it will generate a new item when you buy one from the shop but the price doesn't increase. You have to buy a key or heart or whatever spawns first but then it turns into a pedestal item. I had a Steam Sale so I was able to continuously generate money, buy items for 7 cents, buy Chaos, then break the game. Makes the Keeper's Box much better imo. I think using the restock machine made the generated items disappear but I was already broken at that point so I didn't do too much testing.

Crow Heart trinket prevents from losing bone heart containers as long as it still has red health (OP with Forgotten).

Actually, for the ipecac one, it’s ALL damage that deals a full heart which gives you longer invincibility frames, not just ipecac !

It's not an IsaacGuru video without fatty slaughter. Anyways, these are actually pretty cool, especially the found soul, and I think anything that gives soul hearts directly might work, but I am not sure

I love how the brimstones from locust of war were actually smaller, even having a different sound, just like how it usually behaves (the small explosion sound effect)

Found a cool one in a run I had the other day. You need both Hemoptysis (tainted Azazel's sneeze item) and the Best Friend active item. When you put the Best Friend down and hit it with the Sneeze it will become magnetized to enemies for some reason. It works really well on early game bosses. I don't know if its a bug or intended, but it was cool to find for sure

Hidden item effects: "Sissy Longlegs" can charm enemies when she touch them "Lil' Dump" make synergy with "Ghost pepper" or "Bird's Eye" , spawns flames when he farts "Luna" tears bonus persist in the Knife part 2 puzzle

Tainted Jacob can survive another hit in his lost form if he has an eternal heart. (Will not work if he has soul hearts) (Does work if he has only half a soul heart without any other containers)

not sure if this was mentioned already, but heartbreak can essentially give “lost” characters extra HP since it will protect them from lethal damage. works especially well on t. jacob. cool video!

Isaac spawns flame when he farts and has an item 'Bird's eye' or 'Ghost peper'. Hovever he also does that when mucormycosis (spore shot) procs (farts). This synergy usually leads to a room filled with flame

3:14 The first time i used blank card on my first file i had the double active card on me so this happened, i was so confused that i thought that teleporting to the error room and then disppering was what blank card did, so i never used it until like 3 months later when i realised what it actually does.

Fun synergy: Knockout Drops + My Reflection = Hook Punches Can be combined with luck ups for more consistent punches, shot speed means faster punches, etc.

I experienced a glitch with Tainted Lazarus when playing with my brother. We got Poké Go and a golden heart. Every time we flipped we got the coins from the Golden heart and a Vis would spawn (sometimes in groups of 5). The game kept crashing

Not an item, but in Downpour II, the soul of cain [if used in the same room as the mirror] demolishes the mirror

I think it’s cause of the way opening doors with items works in the game, you don’t actually open doors in an uncleared room or leading to the to secret room, you literally destroy them with bombs or some item, and all other doors need some other item to open and when you offer that item they actually open by themselves after you insert it. But the mirror doesn’t use an item to open, it needs you to use the white fireplace and already has free access for Lost, Forgotten, their tainted versions and kinda T Jacob. So the soul of Cain just uses the only item interaction the door has, which is a bomb.

5:29 this might be explained, since T.Laz flips between alive and dead he can possibly be dropping his bones, but thats extremely unlikely

I got that broken modem glitched item interaction totally by random a few weeks ago! I had no idea what triggered it thanks for the explanation!

I feel sorry for pointing out that he said “tron pocket” last time and now he made the trinket name into “Tron pocket” and the description saying “You misspelled it!”.

Best bud, the fly familiar that appears when you take damage, does the most contact damage out of all familiars in the game, including sac dagger.

I hate the name of this item, literally the least cooperative familiar that comes out only after you get hurt (tied with dead bird and fat bird I guess) is called Best Bud, a guy named Intruder is more willing to help.

The amount of time the creators invested in synergies with damn near countless hidden mechanics is what makes this game so replayable, fun, and mysterious. Thank you for the hardwork on your videos. I just got this game and I love these vids for learning more.

In similar fashion with "we need to go deeper", holding "the red key" or "red key piece" can help you find more easily secret rooms as they show where you can open a red room.

Death's List is guaranteed to pay out in trap rooms, since there are no enemies to kill.

The glowing hour glass + more options combo also works with the alt path items

10:34 isn't this because flushing enemies stops them from being killed, similar to the Uranus + Death's List combo? Knowing this, Ecoli could potentially pull off the same stunt. Similarly, Berserk + Uranus is a terrible combo, as Uranus's freezing effect prevents you from killing enemies to increase Berserk's timer. Lusty Blood + Uranus may also be a terrible combo for the same reasons, but I haven't encountered that in game.

Using Glowing Hour Glass immediately after using Alabaster Box will activate the effects of the Alabaster Box in the previous room while not consuming it. The reason for that is because Alabaster Box has some sort of "activation" delay and this "activation" delay will not get canceled by going back in time one room.

Not sure how "hidden" it is, since most bomb items also work with Dr. Fetus, but I'm peculiarly fond of the Dr. Fetus + Rocket in a Jar combo for the ability to shoot actual rockets instead of bombs, removing most range penalties from the item. Great series, very informative =)

1:29 fun fact: if you have the faded polaroid gulped it doesnt open the ascent door

Something I found in Greedier mode, if you have multiple copies of Guillotine, the damage and tears increases stack for each copy, and can even exceed the soft tears cap by itself - I found it our by using Guillotine with Box of Friends as Lilith

Super fun bug I encountered: The Forgotten with ipecac and pluto. The knockback from hitting an enemy can let the player walk over holes. If you switch to the soul then back to the forgotten while over a pit, it gives the forgotten flight for the rest of the room (most likely as an anti-softlock feature)

esau jr's familiar is actually more than twice as strong as abel (like if you were cain) and unlike abel cannot overlap itself

Using "Book of the dead" as T.Laz creates so many bones, that it's impossible to actually get hit

Just a clarification on the Ipecac damage regarding half heart/full heart damage and invincibility frames; The i-frames are based on how much damage you take, regardless of the source. A full heart of damage will always give more i-frames than a half heart.

Terra + The Finger The Finger acquire Terra ability to break rocks, much faster (it's tick based) and wirelessy!

Tron pocket is such a weird throwaway joke to put at the end of the video and I love it

Best isaac series I've ever watched.

(Again, this is from an older version so IDK if it still works) 1. "Ace of" cards also turn friendly monsters into the respective pickups. Including monsters spawned by Friend Finder and the Pokeball 2. Ghost Bombs make your bombs have spectral properties - you can push them through stuff, not to mention that Dr Fetus takes advantage of it

Not sure if this is a bug on the Switch version, but as T Laz if you use any item that gives you a familiar, it will double them up every time you flip meaning you can get an easy win pretty much every time. For example if you have Book of the Dead and get a bony, when you flip it will give you two bonie, then 4 then 8 etc. It also works with Friend Finder, soul of Apollyon and Book of Virtues. It was basically the only way I was able to get Boss Rush done in time as I could never be powerful or fast enough to make it to and through boss rush.

So many hidden secrets and such in this game. It’s so cool how they spent this much time doing all this.

4:18 Seems that this is caused by More Options forcing a different two-item treasure room layout when you rewind time, rather than just rerolling the items (so the same layout will always have the same items). Wonder if it still works like that in AB and AB+? Hey, thanks for putting my comment in. Esau Jr. is a silly item, so I'm glad more people can learn about its silliness. I hope you don't mind longer comments, I prefer to make long comments instead of multiple shorter ones. Anyway, here's some more trivia: - Magic Skin's item replacing effect also affects Lemegeton (meaning it can spawn Magic Skin wisps) and Modeling Clay (meaning it can turn into Magic Skin). While they don't let you spawn items, they do count as holding Magic Skin, meaning that it'll stop replacing items while active. - If Modeling Clay turns into Birthright while playing as Tainted Lost, it'll give you infinite extra lives for the room, similar to how it works with Lemegeton. It's much less useful, since it only applies to the room it happens in, but hey, still something. - You know how Hornfel drops bombs or a bomb item if you kill him after breaking his minecart? The helpless Hornfel spawned by using the Meat Cleaver on the Horny Boys does so too - but only if you kill him last. If you kill him before Loki, he won't drop anything. - Great Gideon has unique waves of enemies if you fight him in Downpour/Dross (through the Emperor? card). - If you use an Emperor? card while in the mirror world, it'll return you to the regular world. (You still get teleported to the extra boss room like usual, just in the regular world instead of the mirror one.) This can crash the game when combined with stuff like the Red Key - Red Rooms only exist in the world you create them in, so using the Emperor? while in a Red Room that only exists in the mirror world will cause a crash.

I don't know if this was posted before but if you change between character select menus, the classic isaac icon on the taskbar will swap between isaac and T. isaac

I know I'm late, but the synergy between flush and death's list might be for a different reason. a similar thing happens if you have death's list and some freezing effect like ice cube, where an enemy is not counted as "killed" if it is frozen instead. If you freeze an untargeted enemy, the skull will still remain. I think enemies getting flushed or turning into poop isn't considered the same as normally killing them, so the game just thinks you did it in the right order because it didn't see you kill anything in the *wrong* order

I don't know if that's been said before, but padlock trinket also allows you to open the ascension door in depths 2 or the heart door in mausoleum/gehenna 2, all with a single bomb!

We thought we were screwed until we found faded polaroid and tested it and it worked. very awesome moment and yes we unlocked tainted Azazel.

If it wasn't patched out already bone spurs isn't the only bugged interaction with this, anything that can add a number of supporting entities can reappear and double when you flip (friend finder and jar of wisps are example I've encountered, that duplicate until their maximum). I'm playing on switch, so it might've been patched out with newer versions

You can donate to the donation machine multiple times even if it jams with glowing hourglass because you can reverse time, unjamming the donation machine, but keeping the progress and donating all the coins again

Something about Hallowed ground that wasn't mentioned before, is that its aura effects stack if multiple auras overlap. And this includes the chance to negate damage, which makes it even more useful for cheesing demon beggars and blood machines. (Unless the stacking thing was changed in repentance).

This is not true. Neither the stats or damage negation chance are stacked.

Watched every video to make sure this hadn't been talked about yet. But with the item, Immaculate Heart, the orbiting tears are just far enough away from Isaac that he will not get damaged by them if they are Ipecac shots as the explosion is typically out of range. It's possible to get hurt by the explosion if you're moving a ton, but I've only seen it once or twice when I found it.

Use spin to win with wisp book (forgot name) and walk between rooms. When you enter room when use spin and has less charge wisps not remove

Esau Jr. grants flight. This effect of flying remains active in The Knife Mineshaft. Also it causes weird item trading effects if multiple characters use that jar.

Tainted Lazarus can actually duplicate any “followers’, so if you manage to get wisps as him you can switch between forms and it will cause the followers to duplicate. Examples include blue flies/spiders, friendly dips, and, best of all, wisps. Additionally, esch time you switch to a character with a golden heart, it will cause the golden heart to activate, giving massive amounts of money very quickly and easily. Both of these things happen on the console version, so I’m unsure if they still work on PC however.

Idk if you have done this one or if it counts as one but jacob's ladder + mom's knife + technology. Mom's knife + jacob's ladder only procs on hit, but adding technology gives mom's knife an electric trail and constant sparks at the end of the knife regardless of hitting something or not.

Bloody bombs (item that leaves red creep after exploding a bomb) can be placed down even if u don’t have any bombs. But at a cost of 1 red heart.

D-infinity combined with butter will cause every type of die to have the same amount of charges as the last one used, so if the player has butter when first picking it up, while it has two charges, then every other die will have two charges

Suplex damage scaling with size is almost certainly a reference to Seismic Toss from Pokémon

Aquarius synergizes with Homing effects, the creep starts homing in on enemies with stuff like spoon bender

There is a glitch that is not recorded on the wiki for t laz on the switch. If you have a friendly monsters from friend finder or wisps or friendly poops it will duplicate the familiar everytime you flip

It seems that, at its final level, if Blood Puppy charges into a boss, it can sort of attach to that boss and continuously deal damage to it. Edit: Note that it can happen with normal enemies too, it's just usually only noticeable on bosses because regular enemies die too fast.

The gnawed leaf is very useful in characters like the lost or t the lost, but with t the forgotten is much better because you can move with the soul and you still immortal, but when the body shoots the effect ends

Just found out that if you combine spirit sword and the wiz, your spin attack is doubled (you spin round twice rather than once)

Wait…so if Flush adds downpour-like water to the room it is used in, does it make that room share the same synergy that jacob’s ladder has in the downpour/dross levels (more lighting chains and longer chain reach)?

Isaac Guru, Im not sure if this was mentioned before but here goes: "Found Soul Trinket comboes with Anima Sola and uses 2 chains as opposed to 1."

Fruit cake has a lot more hidden effects, even the ones that do not correspond to actual items, e. g. some shots can turn enemies into poop, or teleport them in the random spot in the room, or the most broken one, it looks like it has a chance to spawn a rune on hit! Im not sure how exactly it works but I had a few runs with it where runes just started appearing out of nowhere, can you investigate that pls?

Yep you're right. It can also spawn cards and coins. I remember a Hush fight where runes and soul stones just kept spawning and it was pretty op

Unsure if someone has mentioned this, but if you shrink shot an enemy (for example, god’s flesh), and have a stinky effect (for example, Leo) you can crush enemies. I’m unsure if it’s certainly-sized enemies or not, but it’s worth a showcase for sure.

Honestly think black candle should make cursed trinkets become a pickup with similarities like cursed penny would turn into a penny with a high chance of becoming a dime instead or cursed skull turns into 2 bone hearts

using the poop while having hallowed ground spawns a holy poop without taking damage

I don't know if everyone knows this, but i will tell it if it's going to be a next part Broken glasses (trinket) has a chance of 50% of revealing the blind item in teh alterns path

It may only be the PlayStation version but Tainted Lazarus has another glitch involving golden hearts. If both have 1 golden heart and different amounts of health, every time you switch it acts like you broke the heart and money appears, without actually losing the golden heart. And I'm unsure if it's related but every time this happens it also doubled my spiders and flies.

I believe invincibility frames are determined by the amount of damage you take in the game. For example, if you were to take 2 hearts of damage through that one enemy champion version that's double their average size (idk what they're called, so I'll call them Giga champions) you have a much more longer invincibility than if you were to take half a heart of damage, or a full heart of damage. Unless everyone already knew this lmao.
