I watched this film last night at a London preview screening. It doesn't matter if you are black, white, conservative, liberal, neo-Nazi white supremacist, male, female. It's a brilliantly told, fantastically acted story about three black female maths and engineering prodigies who made a major contribution at NASA in the 60s, 70s, and 80s. I have absolutely nothing to do with the production of this movie. Everyone should see it because apart from anything else, it's just fantastically entertaining and moving. Clearly, neo-Nazi white nationalists are not going to allow themselves to be moved by this film, and will almost certainly go out of their way to dismiss it as white, liberal, guilt infected political correctness/propaganda even as they refuse to go and see it. They will no doubt regard these remarkable women in the same way as a recent West Virginia mayor described Michelle Obama. Spare them a second of pity for their inability to think beyond their own paralysing ideology, and then go and see this film when it comes out. You won't be disappointed.

My only concern is that this movie will give disproportionately too much credit these women, as if they weren't working among dozens of other white men who made an equal contribution, and as a result SWJ's will walk away saying, "White people would never have gone to the moon if not for these black women". It's too predictable, actually

1202_ProgramAlarm Your disingenuous (I prefer to call it for what it is - racist) concern might be more credible if: a. you could correctly spell the acronym for the pejorative term "Social Justice Warrior"; and b. you'd bothered to see this film before commenting on it. Don't be afraid, terrified white person scared that "others" are trying to take credit for what your kind (and yours alone?) achieved at NASA, for this film features many, many more white men being brilliant than black women being brilliant, as well as many, many more white men being able to use a toilet very close to the room where they worked than black women, and many, many more white men able to drink from the coffee urn in the room in which they all worked than the single black woman in there (she gets her own kettle to drink from you'll be pleased to learn, just in case the 'darkness' on her fingers rubs off on the white men's urn). The film merely tells the story of the contribution made by the black, female mathematicians at NASA during the 60's, but not at the expense of all the white men. Jeez...you guys pretty much run the world and yet you're still so terribly paranoid that others of a darker hue might get the credit they deserve - and somehow, always at your expense. How sad to be simultaneously so in control of everything, so grasping, and so scared to your boots that other skin tones might be your intellectual equals. By the way, I'm white and neither an SJW or an SWJ, or whatever dumb term you like to spit at people who dare to question the status quo in any shape or form. I just like a good movie about something I didn't know about. Go and see it and broaden your mind. That you almost certainly won't is what is too predictable, actually...

Simon Block Glad to see you're so hung up on toilets and coffee makers; The important stuff! Oh, while we are on the subject of correcting others grammar, you should have started your first sentence with "you're", not "your." I am glad to hear this movie correctly credits white men (mostly Protestant and Catholic, but some Jews as well) for putting man on the moon.

1202_ProgramAlarm Dear sir, your correction of my grammar is entirely inaccurate, I'm afraid. My use of "your" in my first sentence is correct. I wasn't writing "you are - ( i.e. you're) disingenuous" but "your disingenuous concern might be more credible" etc., with a sub-clause included within those brackets. I'm not hung up on toilets and coffee-makers but if you'd bothered to see the film you'd understand that it showed how black women suffered prejudice in even the most petty aspects of their lives at NASA, by being forced to walk nearly a mile to use a "blacks only" toilet, and being forced to use a small kettle designated only for them and not the larger one for "whites only". It's important stuff if you're at the receiving end, and showed that even in such an intelligence-fired arena such as NASA racism persisted. It clearly doesn't show this to someone such as yourself since people like you sadly choose to think all that prejudice against people who don't share your skin colour is the natural order and consequently perfectly reasonable. Yep, the movie (you really should see it) does credit white men (yes, wow, even some Jews) with putting men into space and on the moon. But we knew that already. What we didn't know, rather shamefully (but no shame in your case as you'd prefer to pretend all the good stuff was done by Whitey) it tells us what most of us didn't know - that a really significant contribution was made to the Space Programme by some absolutely brilliant black women who would have made you and I look like burbling idiots.

Perhaps if you had read into the question more precisely you'd have realized that I was hinting at the fact that saying its immoral for a black woman to be attracted to a white man is ignorant. Therefore, you must be ignorant or bored!

Think about it for one second: they're going to make an entire mainstream movie about this woman being black when in fact - according to you - she's white? Why would anyone short of a wild conspiracy theorist do that (and how in God's name would they hope to get away with it?). By all means peddle your weird racist ideology around youtube if it gives you kicks, not to mention your complete ignorance of the range of skin tones that exist within the black community, but back it up with something a little more substantial than ""Really - she looks pretty white to me". Yes, and no doubt to your revisionist white nationalist buddies who can't accept that anyone from an ethnic group might be vastly more intelligent than they are.
