If you enjoy my small engine repair videos make sure to comment, share, thumbs up and subscribe. Thanks for watching!
Easy to follow and thorough step by step tutorials do it yourself (DIY) to help you with your broken lawn and garden equipment including snowblowers.
I do my best to teach you how to easily diagnose small engine problems the fastest, quickest and most efficient way with real repairs beyond just replacing a spark plug. These tips are for both the homeowner and shop owner.
Whether it be a handheld, two stroke, two cycle engine like a chainsaw, weed eater, weed wacker, string trimmer, grass trimmer, line trimmer, hedge trimmer, strimmer, brush cutter, leaf blower, or four stroke, four cycle units like a lawnmower, wood splitter, lawn tractor, snowblower, pressure washer, generator or a ride on mower that needs parts installed or replaced, I’m your go-to guy.
My favorite brands of spark plugs are NGK and Champion and are the ones I recommend.
I’ve been a small engine mechanic for many decades and also run my own repair shop so my videos are loaded with tips and tricks that I have learned and want to share with you. You will also find many tool and product reviews from top brands on my channel as well.

Interesting discovery! Somebody cranked on that inlet a little hard in the past presumably. Wonder if loctite 603 would be the ideal adhesive, though the jb weld looks like it did a nice job. I've got a leaf blower that's got weird size fuel line holes that I can't match, haven't figured what else I can seal it with. However it's tygon-like fuel line into plastic, which is harder than metal to adhere to. Good tip on the leak tester, I'll have to make a note of that model to get next time I need to buy from a small engine supplier: it's not on Amazon or eBay, surprisingly.

I tried to order a carb kit thinking a diaphram was broken, but the cost was ridiculous. The carb is a bit unusual so none of the China replacement are the same. I think I might do a pressure test too, it could be just started the same type of leak.

My husqvarna 562xp after running hard on a large cedar and not getting much of a brake(because we needed to get the boom lift back to the renters) started cutting out and dying when I would try to let it idle. Also couldn't get it started without holding down the throttle or letting it sit and choking it and starting it like normal. Then it would run until I pulled the trigger and immediately die. It was run on husqvarna's recommended gas that they sell. Sometimes I can get it to start like normal and it runs for a few seconds without any choke then it dies. Any ideas? It was broken in last year.

Thanks Dony. I have to get one of those pressure testers. Do you think the problem was a poor casting? In addition, I’ve used JB-Weld to repair a air tank leak and it’s been holding 100+ psi for several years.

Is one of symptoms of an air leak that a chainsaw will start and idle, but will die as soon as the trigger is pulled (compression is 160 psi and carb kit installed)? I have this problem on my Stihl 026.

I think RTV gasket maker would be a better choice where vibration could be an issue........

Enjoyed the video, thank you. Where did you order the Waldro Carburetor Pressure Tester from and approximately how much did you pay for? Can one get it in Canada? Thanks for the tip on using the JB Weld .
