@sbolt i would say that she will not walk again if she goes into that monster trampoline.I would say that in a childish way so a kid would understand. And a parent shouldnt spoil their children and if parents thinks that the child will be calm with a phone then they are very mistaken bec it just goes to a worse thing you have ever done to a child.A doctor said that it produces hormones of happiness(forgot the name) and it acts like a drug.

You cannot sign a child's wellbeing or rights away. those waivers are essentially a trick. if a service is negligent, they're negligent. You have some assumed risk doing a dangerous thing, but if they're liable, they're liable.

Well, if you bring your kids to a trampoline park, it is your responsibility to watch and educate your own kids. Actually, it's your responsibility to watch and educate your own kids no matter where you bring them. They can still hurt themselves really bad in a public park if you don't watch them. Trampoline parks just increase the dangers exponentially. But you can't just rely on the employees to watch your kids. They are still your own responsibility no matter where you go.

on of my friends almost drowned in one. it’s not that hard. three people were with me and we had a 2v2 fight throwing blocks. as we did we ended up digging a pit. our pit was deeper so we decided to do what most people think when they hop in a foam pit: How deep is it? so we decided we would dig to the floor. one friend on the other team when coming to see our pit feel in head first and other blocks fell on top of him. you really can’t breathe under those blocks, they have a fume that by the smell you know you don’t want to breathe. his legs were flailing and we knew he couldn’t breathe, there is no way to get out with the weight of the other blocks on top of him. we pulled him out and he was ok, but we definitely took a break after that

there is always a limit on the amount of children in the park at once and in the UK its usually 150-200 at my local one. the employees also have a certain amount children they have to watch (the ratio. ie: 1 adult:10 kids). if they lowered the amount of entry access they would lose money. if they hired more staff they would lose money. their only option to help that is to raise prices. i completely disagree with how these businesses work but thats how it is and about how your mum watched you, she wasnt allowed on the trampolines. she could stand on the side but couldnt physically be close enough to you to prevent you from getting hurt. a parent never knows what their kid is going to do until they do it, so if you are about to jump into the foam pit but you decide to do a flip and end up breaking your back, their is no way the parent could have stopped that unless she was running beside you telling you not to flip. also, in the UK, parent cant stand in the same room as the tramps. they sit on the upper floor in an overpriced cafe. they can only see the front part of the park as the back has a wall that covers it. the only way a parent can come into the park is if they pay for a full priced ticket. so it isnt completely the parents responsibility. when kids go to school, they go into the school responsibility. this should be the same everywhere else or they need to make places more accessible for parents to look after their kids or MAKE THE PLACES SAFER!

I work at a trampoline park. My favourite part is that when you sign the wavier, we don’t assume any responsibility of your child. You are reasonable for your own child. When you let your child run free range in a trampoline park, and don’t watch them. That’s on you. You’re supposed to be monitoring your own child. I have argued with so many parents when I tell them that they’re not allowed on the trampolines with children. We don’t want adults landing on kids. The parents are one of the biggest problems that I find, when I’m trying to keep children safe. Double bouncing, back flips, more than one person on a trampoline... that’s strictly prohibited from my facility.

Contrary to popular belief, waivers don't actually void any legal responsibility. They can be used as evidence against a lawsuit as to try and prove the plaintiff was negligent, but it won't save a company from being held liable if the court finds enough evidence to believe the company itself was negligent, regardless of the waiver.

Alright I got something to say; I work at one of these trampoline parks as a part time job and when I first started I got a lot of training for what to do when someone gets injured and how to prevent it. We are enforced to give rule speeches to all jumpers and if we see someone breaking the rules we don't let it slide, we can even ask them to leave if we see that they are risking themselves or others. There is always a court monitor watching over and keeping a close eye out, and when things happen like a child is disobeying the rules or crawling onto the pads like they showed here, it is up to the parents to watch their kids and have them understand that they cannot do that. I have seen parents even encouraging their kids to not follow what we say and do whatever they want, and it's stressful for us and then we get blamed. We are not a daycare, and we don't raise your children, parents need to teach their kids to listen more and watch over them as well with us. Also, when I tell people that they have to fill out a waiver, I always urge them to read it properly. If people don't want to read that is a risk on themselves and they need to know what they are getting into.

Funny, how this is with everything. I have heard parents trying to sue animation studios in Japan cause they didn’t get the memo that a lot of those dramas and such aren’t for kids. I do think it’s sad that parents think it’s okay to allow their kids to watch shows aimed at teens or older, and then get mad cause of what happens when you stupidly do that. Same thing here, parents don’t think and in these cases I’d say that those parents need to have their kids taken away. Moreover, if you think it’s fine to allow your kids to break rules, or watch shows targeted to an older audience then you shouldnt have kids. I blame parents for a lot of things, mostly cause if parents were smarter then my love of art wouldn’t be seen as childish. That and stuff like this would have a better community, of people who’d be into having more fun.

If I could get a dollar for every time a parent has told me "We pay to be here and we should do whatever we want", I would be rich by now. It's insane also how many people feel more superior than others because they're the customers and we are only the minimum payed workers and then we get treated like trash. I just want everyone to have a safe and smooth time, and I don't want anyone to get hurt, so please parents, follow our rules and also be polite. Okay almost a valid point if this was a pottery class or a pizza party. There is no way an average parent is going to know enough about trampoline safety to supervise a child. The staff there isn't informing parents of the risks or safety concerns. Parents aren't going to recognise unsafe trampoline designs. When the trampoline expert was at a park she instantly saw safety problems because of her experience. There were staff and parents all watching though who couldn't see anything wrong. Parents are reassured by the staff in the area and the relaxed enforcement of policies that they assume it's a safe environment. It's like a pool saying you don't need to know how to swim, you don't have to worry about your kids, and then not having lifeguards.

I work at a trampoline park. Every injury I’ve seen in the almost 2 years of working there has been in result of someone breaking the rules, not paying attention, &/or failing to assess their own skill set. A tip: watch YOUR OWN children!!! The employees aren’t babysitters. “Where were the employees??” Where were you, mom? We care about your kids & we don’t want them hurt, but no one can look out for your child like you can. Another tip: if you haven’t had some gymnastics training, don’t do stunts on the trampolines. Know your limits. Some people can do tricks safely, some really shouldn’t even be jumping in the first place. Those two tips will prevent probably 90% of injuries. (Freak accidents do happen: that’s why you sign a waiver) PS: if you are uncomfortable with any of the policies in the waivers: LEAVE! PPS: if you don’t read the waiver, you’re idiotic & clearly don’t care about your/your children’s safety, so I have NO sympathy!!!

I just wanna say I actually work at a trampoline park and most of the time the reason why people get hurt is because they either A) Don't do the research B) Don't listen or C) Don't think about what they're doing.Firstly, no matter what park you go to, you must sign a waiver. If you don't do your research and READ it, you can't claim us responsible. You signed that away the second you pressed submit on the form. At our facility we have specific rules for each attraction on a large yellow poster as well as court monitors to answer any questions on what you can do as well as tell you to stop if you are doing something incorrect. If you didn't read it or didn't LISTEN and did something you weren't supposed to, that's your fault. And lastly, the main reason why children are hurt is because of parents. Court monitors are there to facilitate the children, not parent them. If you leave, do not watch your children ir advise them to go against the court monitors orders-- you weren't THINKING of the consequences of the possibilty of your child getting hurt. I feel like this whole video is just counterproductive. Every single adult nowadays complains how kids do not go outside anymore or exercise however the one chance kids see something positive as fun, they suddenly want to take it away. I do not think that catastophic injury is ok but these parents need to let their kids and THEMSELVES the chance to toughen up a bit. Kids will hurt themselves climbing a tree, playing basketball or riding a bike. Sorry for the long speech but just realize what you are doing before you blame others.

If you obey and read instructions, you're fine. Injuries that happen because someone broke the rules isn't the company's fault. However, if you or someone else gets injured because of someone else's actions, the park should be responsible for enforcing their rules to prevent something really bad happening. It's on the company to enforce their own policies and to keep people safe, and consumers expect that the park staff know what they are doing.

Obviously, these parks are inherently dangerous, but I think the public just needs to be more aware of the limitations of the trampolines and foam pits. It's not like all these kids are trained gymnasts who are taught how to fall safely or are supervised and spotted until they're strong enough to attempt flips on their own. I guess the parents and children place too much trust into the trampolines to catch their fall.

Just small things can cause the injuries but it doesn’t necessarily mean that it happens very often - I mean if you think about the amount of kids that actually go to trampoline parks and other potentially dangerous activities only a very small percentage of the kids actually get badly injured.

i dont know, i really dont see the problem with trampoline parks. there is always a risk of injury when you engage in these sorts of activities. i think what needs to happen is these parents need to educate themselves and their children before sending them out onto a room full of trampolines. i grew up with one, and while there were injuries, my father spent a lot of time educating me on how to flip properly, and in a safe manner. it seems like people just think they can do anything, or have their kids do anything and there is no risk involved. if you dont want to spend the time educating your kids on how to be safe at a park like this there are many other places you could take them

Now parents are usually educated on the potential dangers of pools and make sure to know how strong of a swimmer their kid is. But not so much on trampolines. So like you said, parents need to be educated and kids need to be educated.

They are getting paid for looking after the park etc.. many parents just leave their kids in theese kind of places & just assume that others will pick up their responisbility, and then something happens & theese parents never blame themselves, it's always something wrong with everyone else all the time.. In sweden a lunch restaurant banned kids after many incidents where the staff has been injured bcs of unwatched kids.. but instead of asking why they where banned, the parents started screaming "discrimination" to the media etc.. The sign is small and is not in a visible area. There needs to be a consent form which indicates all the rules with putting your initials next to it and then signing the bottom. Breaking the rules should get you kicked out.

There are massive signs everywhere saying no flipping. The fact is that kids will be kids, you literally can't stop them unless you just don't let them jump on a trampoline. I went to one once when I was younger for my friends birthday and I didn't do any flips and I followed the rules. I though the people hired to stand there and make sure you're not doing anything bad were so annoying, but they did mediate. Except a lot of them just stood there and barely cared. I'm honestly a buzz ki when I go out but these places aren't fun to me, I try to actually follow the rules but all the snot nosed kids running around unattended get in the way.

broke my ankle on a field trip to one of these things back in 8th grade, employees couldn't care less. Had to sit with my ankle popped out for an hour or so before being carried to the school bus. Never did end up going to the hospital. Doctor asked why I didn't and they certainly were disappointed with the place.

As a child raised in the 70's and 80's, I can only imagine the parents of today would drop dead from heart attacks if they saw the sh*t we got up to before everyone started wrapping their kids in bubble wrap.

zain "that’s because walking and playing was second nature back then" No, it's because you didn't had internet, video games, instant socialization, mobile phones, so you got bored and did something to entertain yourself , playing outside, watching morning cartoons, going to arcades, etc. And then some 40 years old moron (that was born in the 30' or 40') would say "Cartoons and playing video arcades is ruining this new generation". I bet there is a old man that when the new generation, found out how to make fire, he said "Making fire is for pussies, in my days we ate raw meat".

Parents use these places as an excuse to not watch their kids. Watch your kids, if they aren't following rules that's not the companies fault. You don't go skydiving and then get upset if something happens!

Nichole Johnson It’s even worse if you volunteer at a local festival/ carnival, parents leave their kids to go play, the kids get hurt or get banned from the game because they didn’t follow the rules and then the parents blame the help.

I remember I went to an trampoline park, and they had this giant platform you would jump off of and onto a cushion thingy. I hurt my back really bad on it and I could barely walk for a week. I know it wasn’t that severe, but they are just so dangerous

I got stuck in something once and I'm now scarred. No injuries, luckily. I was trying to get up a "ladder" that they used if you fell on the ninja course. I fell. When I was trying to get up the "ladder", my foot got stuck on the thing that was underneath, and, eventually, we got it out, but they made me continue the course. I was nearly crying.

  • @furtim1

I agree. To clarify - They don't accommodate customers reading them. They don't want you to. They will have them presented on a kiosk, where a line is waiting behind you. They will give you the waiver to read in the brief amount of time it takes for them to give you the receipt at a counter with no place to sit or take a moment to read whatever you are signing. Or, the clipboard will be chained to the counter or there will be only a few boards, meaning you have little option but to be in people's way or just sign it and get clear. The staff is never trained to answer questions regarding the waiver or clarify anything and Managers aren't offered to assist.

One time my friend pushed me off the block at Gravity. I cut my neck and the worker was laughing hysterically. They did nothing about it. Then at Flip N Out Xtreme I was playing laser tag. I had the code name Ghost or something like that. So there’s a part where you overlook the entire trampoline park in the arena. So I went up there to find my hand covered in shards from the phaser. So obviously I ran down to the vesting room and the guy said no leaving the game this is a war. You started it so finish it. Well I showed him my hand and said well can I at least clean my hand. (The bathroom is next to the arena.) The guy said nope. I was so mad I told him bit** you f*c*k*i*n* know how to ruin laser tag for everyone. Then I took on my pack threw it on the ground and stormed out. Then the nice person helped me out with my hand.
