Hickory, NC Spotlighted as "World's Greatest City"
The City of Hickory was selected as the “World’s Greatest City” by How 2 Media and featured on an episode of the national television series “World’s Greatest!…” airing in December 2023 on Bloomberg TV.
How 2 Media, the producers of the show, researched hundreds of cities around the globe and interviewed city leadership before ultimately selecting the City of Hickory to be featured.
Frank Oppizzi, senior producer for the "World's Greatest!..." TV Show, said, "Hickory immediately captured our attention. The more we researched this city and spoke with its leaders, the more we realized this city had a unique and remarkable story to share."

I was born there in '74 and have family there and Bethlehem to this day. After 40+ years in Texas, the Mountains calling. I feel it in my bones.

Really a great video. However, one aspect is missing; The local music scene! On any given weekend night, one can see over 40 different musical acts. I know people who have moved here JUST for the music scene.

Lived in hickory my whole life never seen that bridge with hickory on it and we aren't experiencing affordable living here in comparison to L.A I guess but it's still 900 a month for 1 bedroom and a bathroom that the door can't close on or you won't fit

Well you must not leave your house very often, because that is a new bridge on 321 and it should say “Leaving Hickory” on 1 side “Welcome to Hickory” on the other side.

It is new, it was part of a rather expansive city walk experience that had 5 different sections, this section is the aviation walk. That bridge is a walkway over HWY 321 that connects downtown Hickory with the Crawdads stadium. This section was a $20.8 million dollar contract by itself and I think at least 50 people has used it because walking is convenient with how spread out Hickory is. So, pretty much a great use of tax dollars.
