=== 🎖️ About Channel 🏆 ===
My goal is to bring old, vintage American tools back to life. I hope to motivate, support and build a community of garage and restoration enthusiasts.
While this channel focuses on American-made tool restorations, the techniques can be used on any of your restoration projects. You will also see that my restorations are tools that I use around my shop. My passion developed over the years from being raised near the American automotive industry in Detroit, MI and Toledo, OH.
Thank you so much for your support in growing this channel to help more people restore their vintage tools!

Happy Thanksgiving!
Thought you were gone forever. So glad you're still around. Great restore. Please keep posting fixing American tools.
I just ordered new climbing pins, handle etc. for an old hi lift a buddy gave me. I'm gonna restore it and put it in a samurai I'm building. By the time I checked out with all the stuff I needed I could have bought a new one on the amazon hi lift store for $23 more.....oh well, it'll be fun. Thanks for the video.
So glad you're Back !!! Great restorations, American made tools ! You are awesome 👌 keep em coming !
That is a snazzy Jeep at the end!!

Yes!
Welcome back! I've missed your videos. Was about to ask Alan where you went!
Beautiful!
Enjoyed the resto. Never seen that hood mount. Pretty cool.

It's a pretty ridiculous flex. It slightly blocks the windshield washer fluid and it's super exposed to the elements. Inside back seat/floor is preferred 👌

Pretty dangerous... A big lump of skull crushing metal right in front of your windshield. Handy for spectacular crash fatalities.

I couldn't agree more. If Hi-lift hasn't been sued for this kit, it must have an excellent track record. But I'd still be nervous.
This helped a ton. I appreciate it

They aren't terribly expensive to get new either
Thanks for this video. I've got one of these old hi lift jacks. That I been trying to get it to function properly. It's all froze up. I didn't know they sold rebuild kits for them.
The Hi-Lift's predecessor was invented in 1905 and sold as the Automatic Combination Tool. The original jack was commonly known as the Handyman or Sheepherder's Jack, and years later it was renamed the Hi-Lift Jack.
Looks great.👍

I appreciate the support!
It screams 70s or 80s. Just a guess
I have the same exact model. The only difference is that mine also had two pawls on it that allowed the user to pull wire tight with the jack. I contacted Hi-Lift and was told that they stopped making these particular jacks in the 1950s, so yours is probably of the same vintage.
Is that paint or did you powdercoat it? Looks nice and thick.
I’m about to rebuild my dad’s old jack for my son. It’s over 50 years old and has the decal instead of the cast lettering so yours must be even older. I wish it had the cast lettering and that I had access to a sand blaster. I have replacement decals.
Thanks for sharing. Looks good. What red is it?
Dad bought a one new in 1977 and his had the decals
@One Nation Restorations was that just soapy water for the scrub down of the begging parts ? also what was that Lubercation wax or grease / used on the pin shaft rods. ????? thank you im doing the same thing with Almost the same jack !
Nice resto. What brand of ratchet wrench was that? Looks cool! And where can I get them?

SK Professional Tools - X-Frame. I bought them directly from the manufacturers website. Surprisingly, they're much cheaper than when they first came out.
I want one

Got one!!!
It not that old, the way older one didn't come with a removable handle. I have a few of those from pre 70s is my guess,
Typical black ads before the video.
