She said: "You're my favourite customer" so that means he's a regular at that store and know the prices. He was just beeing polite to confirm the price, while paying. This scene shows his inner wisdom of comunication - "If you know the answer, it doesn't mean you don't have to ask". This Masterpiece is full of deep meanings in every scene😌

Sometimes when you look at something tyag may be unmarked you can sorta assume what the price could be and have a bill large enough to cover it. Usually everything else in the store would be marked but sometimes there’s that odd thing which you would want to buy which isn’t marked and you just pull out a big enough bill. Like a bouquet of flowers in a store like that wouldn’t obviously be $50,000 or something, so he must’ve had like a $100 bill ready for what could’ve been a $40 bouquet

Tommy added so much after filming by voice dubbing. He needed his character to be the best and most noble one. Tommy is weird.
