A mechanical version of how our large intestines work! :) I often wondered what walking floor trailers were - examples seen on the road are Jenkinsons forest products and Fred Sherwood. No doubt many other companies too. Scrap metal, Tyres, anything loose, quickly loaded and unloaded! I do remember the potato bulkers that have a conveyor belt in the bottom of a vee shape floor driven by a mains motor that you had to plug in. Thank you for sharing.

Always wondered how they work and what's its like to operate. Useful video. I was in Ilkeston the other day had to take a 4axle low loader to Manners Ind Est where you were, that hill is a brute. I stopped at the lights and my DAF is a manual, took some getting off the mark 😂. Then brought another 3axle low loader out of there and took it too Matlock 🙄

Very educational. I'd seen walking floors tipping on the landfill when I used to drive the site tractor there but never knew how they worked. I wouldn't mind a go at that as it'd be something new and more experience. And yeah watch the doors when opening, the landfill was crazy about safety and mentioned numerous cases of incidents where loads were pushing against doors when opening. But then if it's loose the load is going to shift so I'd expect on training to be told to be prepared for it.

Thanks Sam, be minded that the vast majority of Brits end up coming back from Oz. I'd go for an extended holiday first and see if you fancy it. It's a long way from your family and friends.

Does it not have a physical strap that has to be fastened after closing and released before opening?

M25 yep a joke alright - the amount of traffic on these roads is phenomenal, it only takes one breakdown, crash, (I don't like calling them accidents) to cause literally hundreds if not thousands of vehicles to come to a standstill. I was coming back on the A14 today eastbound not far past the welford turn - An artic(didn't notice and remember the brand) and trailer parked on, obviously broken down on the westbound carriageway - in lane 2. The tailback was back to near enough rothwell! All I do remember was saying "You can't park there, mate!" to myself lol.
