Hezbollah will cease fire if peace is reached in Gaza, its chief Nasrallah said in a televised speech. His remarks followed a meeting with a Hamas delegation and coincided with resumed truce and hostage release talks in Qatar regarding the Gaza war.
Mediators are discussing a three-phase ceasefire plan announced by US President Joe Biden. This plan includes a six-week ceasefire, a permanent end of hostilities, and the reconstruction of Gaza. However, Hamas insists on international guarantees for a permanent ceasefire.
Israeli PM Netanyahu has refused any deal that forces Israel to stop its campaign in Gaza without eliminating Hamas.
The Israeli army has ordered all Palestinian civilians to leave Gaza City after striking UNRWA's headquarters there. This followed an attack on a school housing displaced civilians in Khan Younis, which resulted in at least 27 deaths and 53 injuries.
