Theres nothing more irritating than having to take care of a kid and cook for ur man only to have him complain abt it. Its age old commonsense that men shd just swallow whatever their wives cook bcs they cook it with love. Whether or not its tasty is secondary they need to appreciate the effort first by finishing the food

i think so many of you have missed the point of why she doesn't cook for him. He's really judgmental of her cooking skills and that could really easily discourage a person. I mean yea i'm still young and i'm not married but i have a man who loves to eat and i cant cook but guess what?!.... my man has me in the kitchen with him every time he cooks something so i can watch and learn and i've been able to cook him several different dinners for us over the past months. I'm learning because he facilitates it, he encourages and corrects me where necessary but he has never told me that its not good enough or its simple not good at all. instead he says how i can fix it and i appreciate that a lot. Maybe he should try that approach, just saying

Carnival food is not dinner. It requires little to no cooking skills. As a woman, even I understand why he was complaining. She needs to put some effort into it. There are plenty of recipes out there that are easy to make and yet so delicious - lemon parmesan chicken piccata, mongolian beef and broccoli, pepper steak, honey garlic teriyaki chicken, tuscan butter salmon...there's almost a week's worth of dinners and they're all ridiculously easy. They just require EFFORT, unlike hot dogs.

She's not cooking because he's being too critical of her cooking. He's far better at cooking than she is... he takes pride in his food. So the standard is high and she's not going to live up to it but he wants her to and he's going about it the wrong way. She's never going to cook as well as him but he needs to just appreciate her for whatever she makes or shut up and cook the food himself... unfortunately, that's all that's going to happen. She simply doesn't care as much as he does.

If she makes the effort to cook, you say thank you, sit and eat. I love my wife's cooking. She's from the Philippines, so her food was a little strange at first. I got home from work and she'd spent all afternoon in the kitchin. I sit and hands me my plate and I start eating... the two things I hate in life... star anise and liver (Don't ask what she cooked, I have no idea or how to pronounce it). One mouthful and bam... I look up and the look in her eyes, I couldn't say anything negative. I finished my plate and thanked her, even had seconds. It would have hurt her feelings if I told her the truth. She still cooks it for me now and again... we've been married for nearly 11 years, she still doesn't know I hate it, and she never will, because I love her!

I don't know her, but as a Filipino, I know that filipina women who cook have wide varieties of dishes stored in them. I assume by liver, you meant Adobong Atay(Chicken Liver Adobo/Pig Liver Adobo) because it's the only type of dish you can cook with star anise, I don't hate it that much, I like the broth, but I don't like the consistency of the liver, so I feel you. Ask her what's for dinner, if she said it, ask for something else. Maybe probably tell her stories on your first reaction when you tasted that dish for the first time during dinner, she'll probably change her mind.

Nathan I think women should force men to be accountable for themselves and hold them to their word no matter how hard it is for them to uphold. If he is being unappreciative I would not enjoy cooking for him either, and my husband eats well daily. He has never belittled what I cook for him and there are days when we both are exhausted from WORKING OUTSIDE OF THE HOME. There are days when he cooks and days when I cook, because cooking is not sex specific and my amazing MIL taught my husband the importance of knowing how to cook and not rely on anyone to baby him. This couple needs some counseling, and he needs to focus on affirming his wife and she should learn to cook to feed her family. I do not agree that this is all of western women, because not all of us are the same. That would be the equivalent of me saying all western men are lazy, pot smoking, gang banging, abusive assholes and that’s not even remotely the case. There are some amazing men in our society, I married one!

He should stop giving her money and cooking her food if she doesn't want to learn to cook the way he likes. Women wants equality, but when it is their responsibility to do something, they all stop looking for equality, and start talking about manner, reverse treatment and patriarchy bs. If your husband is working hard for your needs, you better work as hard for his. As for most, yes in fact most western women are lazy and irresponsible, that's exactly why you see men running and marrying females from other countries, it is not just a few, most are, therefore most should get their things together before they find no men at all.

@@Mzmissy215 Based on the information both of them had provided, it is safe to assume that she does not work. It is not the only possiblity of course, but is is the most probable. Now, yes there are other things to do around the house, but as a spouse you have a responsibility towards your children as well as your partner. If you don't work, the least you could do is cook for him. Microwaving food isn't the same as cooking, and refusing to want to get better at it is just selfish. Let's say he was working, and they were in a bad shape financially, and she was doing all her responsibilities around the house, including cooking, cleaning, taking care of him and the children. And he refused to get a full time job, or work a few extra hours to provide for them. The same would be said, it is selfish to ALWAYS put yourself first in a relationship, and even more if it is a proper family with a child. Unfortunately, she is doing just that in regards of her partner. He provides her with a good income, a nice comfortable life, fancy things and she refuses to get better at cooking because "If you don't like it then don't ask me to cook". Which is a very good way to damage the relationship on the long term.

    @ladderallthinking87903 жыл бұрын

My wife, who I've been with for twelve years, insists she didn't know how to cook *anything* when we met. Now? 8-12 home-cooked meals per week (and I'm not talking about instant pancakes, oatmeal, or prepackaged spaghetti--I mean cooking from scratch with dishes like stir fry, homemade pastas, homemade soups, homemade bread, barbecued ribs, sweet & sour anything, fajitas, cottage pies, fried rice, etc..) So take that into consideration as you read my perspective on providing feedback to home cooking. I've always found honesty to be the best policy when it comes to commentary on family cooking. But you have to pretty much stick with highlighting the positives, especially early on, so that means not TOO MUCH honesty. Real, honest-to-God home cooking is as much art as work, and it's impossible for an artist to express themselves when they anticipate a negative response from the consumers. Be honest, just don't be BRUTALLY honest. And forget the micromanaging--let her do the cooking her way, and if she does a good job, lavish her with genuine praise for the effort. If a particular effort comes up short, praise the good stuff and don't lie if asked about the bad--just soften it a little until you've developed a rapport to where she trusts you're not going to hurt her feelings if she inquires. Whenever my wife asks how I liked a given meal, I'll always point out the positives even if they're not that high (e.g. if the fried chicken wasn't all that flavorful, i might say 'the breading on this fried chicken is really crunchy. I like that!' I don't need to rag about the lack of spices, but if she asks about that part, I'll say, 'It could probably use some more cayenne pepper...or maybe just black pepper?'). She already knows when she cooks something great and she knows when it's not great, so I don't need to tell her if it's great or not. I just need to tell her what *is* great *about it.* That always opens up the dialogue and makes it a lot less confrontational when the inevitable 'Yeah...but I think I overcooked the _______" or "I know I added too much salt," parts of the conversation come around. That's where you get the chance to make suggestions, but be careful when doing so, and always ask yourself one question before you do: 'Was this a better deal than we can get at a fast food place?' If the answer's 'yes,' you should probably keep your mouth shut even if you're sure the meal could be better. If the answer's 'no,' then use your own judgment in how you craft your diplomatic suggestions. When we cook for our loved ones, we're committing an act of love. As diners we know homemade meals won't always come up aces, but we also know that they're a really wonderful way to bring people together, both during production and consumption. Nobody wants to cut those interactions out of their life unnecessarily, so a little politicking is important around the dinner table. Family meals are the centerpiece of my growing family's daily interactions, and we all recognize the importance of it. As the man once said: Honesty is the best policy. Don't lie. Just remember that too much honesty is usually worse than not quite enough.

Okay I'm a woman and I do believe that whoever doesn't work outside of the home should cook. However what a woman does domestically is an expression of love for her family and and her man. Moreover you will not talk to me like you crazy and think that you going to get those expressions of love from me or any other woman for that matter. That's just how it goes. If you're going to tell her what to do how to do it and when and all that well then like she said you might as well cook for yourself. Regardless if she can cook or not. A husband is his wife's greatest influence and the things that he may have said about her cooking made her feel inadequate as a woman so therefore she says okay since you feel it should be done a certain way you cook it. End of story.

Agreed, but if she's that bad a cook then why doesn't she take that as a way to improve herself in her cooking? I mean that guy is clearly eating A LOT as it is, so I doubt his standards for "good food" are THAT HIGH. So she probably really sucks at cooking and throws something lazy at the plate. He should have been nicer and should apologize, YES, but instead of her not taking criticism, throwing a tantrum and not cooking anymore, maybe she should just admit she can't cook and do something about it? Not everyone is good at cooking but lets be real: it's really easy to cook great food without much effort. If you suck at it then it's your fault. (we're not talking about 5 star restaurant meals after all) He should have been nice enough to teach her if she's that bad or maybe she could take cooking lessons... It's such an easy thing to fix. I mean I kinda understand his point and frustration, having to work all day and then he comes home tired and has to cook his own dinner... (not that he needs dinner XD) But criticizing someone saying they suck at something and not providing any help or suggestion to improve that weakness isn't really the correct way to do it. Now this ALL changed is she's got a job like him, which I believe is not confirmed. If they both have a job and have to work all day then they should divide house chores and take turns cooking or cook together.

@Notre Aira : who said women needs to serve men for the rest of their lives? Everyone has a role. The role of the male has always been to protect and provide whereas the female would look after the kids, prepare food and clean. Women and Men are not and has never been equal. We are not meant to be equal. We have different roles to fulfill. The society has a problem when women wants to be like men.

@Yemi What is wrong with us women today? Ummm... idk.. we're just being women. We were NEVER natural in-grained providers EVER. We are here to birth children from the love, care, protection, provision, giving, selfless, faithful, loyal, honest, kind loving adoration from our future husbands. That's all. "SOCIETY" says women are here to cook and clean but that's not a natural trait of a woman but of a man. He's the provider. A woman bears children from a husband that is overfilling her in love, protection, friendship, kindness, niceness, honesty, faithfulness, provision, and so forth and so on and that in return MAKES a woman want to settle down into motherhood. That's why women are here and that's why women are blessings to their husbands or as Steve says, "The Prize" I mean you can honestly choose to ignore this truth and that's perfectly fine. But, don't say you never heard it because #imjustthemessenger sweetheart. That's the answer of how women settle into motherhood. I promise you this narrative from the topic of men NEEDS a SERIOUS change to men wanting to be better men and husbands to their wives or future wives. That will so create better and healthier relationships among men and women.

In the beginning they gave me bad reactions which made me feel really bad and made me embarrassed and nervous to cook anything. I simply told them hey, I'm learning to cook and I'm feeling really bad about sucking at it. Maybe you can teach me how to season things better and in the way you like. Teach me a few dishes that are your favourite. They did and I learnt only two dishes in the first month and cooked them many times trying to get good at them and I did. Then you slowly add dishes.

Everybody keeps assuming this woman is lazy, but we don't know if she works or not. She said she DID cook more, but apparently he doesn't like the way she cooks. Why? We don't know if she tried to change the way she cooked for him, but maybe he's a picky eater. We don't know how much weight either of them pulls at home. He could go to work, but leave her to do literally everything else. We don't know if he's lazy. Why are we assuming she's the lazy one? Not to mention, this man embarrassed his wife. He went on national television and said "my wife doesn't cook for me" and expected another man to take his side because they're both men, but Steve is going to give the woman the benefit of the doubt until he gets more context. Yes, whoever stays at home should do the main cooking for the day, house, whatever, but the other person also has to be reasonable. And, again, we DON'T know if she works, too.

Well I mean, if she has a job like he does then I'd understand that they'd take turns cooking and splitting tasks. At my house, for example, since both my parents have a job, they divide the house chores among themselves and take turns cooking. But if he's working all day and she doesn't have a job and stays home all day and doesn't even cook, THEN WTF IS SHE DOING ALL DAY!?!? Cleaning? That's not an everyday activity unless you're a germophobe or live in a huge house! Washing the clothes and dishes? Once again, not an everyday activity and it certainly doesn't take that much time since they only have 1 kid. So honestly, if she doesn't have a job, WTF DOES SHE DO MOST OF THE DAYS? Sit around on her ass watching TV and eating? He looks like he's been eating plenty, but so does she. Marriage is a partnership, both members need to be equal. But if one of them is working while the other is using their money and doing almost nothing all day, then that's not a partner, that's a parasite. Btw, him criticizing her food is still not very nice and not everyone is a great cook (although that's mostly due to laziness since even with little time you can make very tasty food). I understand he's probably a bit frustrated coming home from working all day only to find some nasty ass food to eat... He should have been more subtle about it and found a way to teach her instead. So now she doesn't even cook, so she probably sits her ass all day at home and he has to come home tired from work and on top of that he has to cook his own meal. But once again... He seems like he's actually eating too much XD Maybe he doesn't really need dinner anyways.

I found it a little rude with how blunt he was about how much he didn't like her cooking and how she should learn how to cook better. Not everyone is a good cook. I agree with her decision that she made mostly because it's seems that all the joy if she found any in cooking is gone. If he going to harass her about the food she makes then if he thinks it's so bad maybe they could have a bonding experience and learn how to cook together. That way they could try taking turns making meals it would be more productive and it may fix their problem.

@Thelondonbadger- I have seen your comments over and over again, and decided to say something. You are right, people have different tastes. I LOVE certain foods that my SO doesn't. He just can't stand the food and never has liked it. This is the same food that everyone else I have cooked for loves and begs me to make them a plate to take home for leftovers. Now, my son and I love this food, and we have tried other foods (pintrest has been my friend in trying new ways to make the same proteins) and refined the things we like. We have a more worldly palette where my other half has a very meat and potatoes palette. I have made accommodations, and when I want a meal for myself that I know he won't eat, I make sure to settle a plate of food he will eat. HOWEVER, just because I am willing to go an extra mile for my other half, doesn't mean everyone should have to. Sometimes, when complaints are too much, people just give up and stick with the meals they know will work. If that happens, the person complaining has three choices, accept the food that is known to be enjoyable over and over again, become more open minded or add whatever missing seasoning is needed, or cook it yourself.

Listen, if a woman expects to be pampered, wined & dined, romanced, be provided for, taken care of, etc, and her man is willingly doing all of those things, the least she can do for him is to learn how to prepare a delicious warm meal for him to enjoy; not ramen noodles and tacos. Don't be a little girl; go and learn how to cook. Jeez! I think it's fair to expect a stay-at-home spouse to cook a dinner for you after work and keep the house clean during the week; especially assuming they agreed that would be part of their responsibilities. I currently have a injury so I'm home full time and I take care of 90% of the domestic tasks; it makes perfect sense that the person who's home takes care of the home. It wouldn't feel right to me if my bf had to come home from work only to do more work to get something to eat while I had access to the stove all day; that doesn't sound fair and equitable to me. The man just wants to have his dinner taken care of. Yes he should definitely be a lot nicer about his criticism, but he just seems frustrated that he's upholding his end of the deal and she isn't. I totally understand not wanting to do something when you get criticized every time, but she may need to try harder to improve her culinary skills if the food is that bad. His expectations need to be reasonable- especially if he knew she couldn't cook when they were dating- but she needs to make sure she's putting in her share of work. Steve's answer was definitely what he thinks his mostly female audience wants to hear, and I don't like when he tries to do this because the answers are always stupid and it makes women in general look bad for cosigning that nonsense when they clap. If his answer was just meant to be humorous since he's a comedian, it should have at least been funny but it wasn't since it didn't even make sense. This whole clip was a mess chile lmao

@@God.sDaughter lol I do have my own money and my husband brought me a new car in 2017 so I am able to travel as I please. Our 16 year old daughter was in a lot of different programs in school so I felt it would be best if I just stayed home to keep her busy with her school activities. She is a LOT OF WORK!!!🤣🤣

Steeve is playing it safe. He clearly doesn't want to upset his female audience with the feminist movement now in full force.

@- kool - just because you, women, put something on the pot doesn't mean y'all are cooking. Obviously this man is saying that his woman's cooking is not up to par. Obviously she's not taking the hint to better herself in that area.

Women don’t have to do anything nowadays. Relationships nowadays seem like men have to work for everything and women just get spoiled.

It's also because women have a hive mentality. Someone complains about a man and all women gang up on the man without even getting the other side of the story. I know. I'm a woman. This is doubly worse when the women are radical feminist sjws
