the thing I love about contemporary is that it looks really easy when you first look at it but when you try it you realise how talented the dancers really are and how hard all the technical movements are. It's my favourite style

This is so incredibly beautiful. The dance is so fluid, simplistic, and raw. I love this piece, probably one of my favourite dances I have seen.

I really love the emotion that she gives in this piece. The way she connects with it is really nice. The technique and movement in each step feels like it is telling a story. Each facial expression is matched with each move, which is a move that most dancer don’t really set properly so props in that department. Overall it was a great routine.

Wow, dance is such a beautiful thing, dances like these are exactly what inspired me to start dancing. Your emotion is gorgeous and you chose the right song for a solo like this. I dance ballet and contemporary and I love it. Aurora is also amazing, and clearly so are you. Excellent job.

So beautiful -- knowing that I am in the dance academy and I do modern dance, it's fascinating the way she did her dance performance because it might seem super easy to do, BUT ANY BEGINNER BALLERIA knows this must be hard with tons and tons of practices! I am super impressed!

This is gorgeous, Both the song, the dance and the feeling behind it really resonated within me.

The dancer looks like she's floating this whole video. And wow, the camera work on this was fantastic. The way it drifted and tilted with her movements gave the routine a touch of magic.

I can’t stop watching this video. This is probably 50 times for me. She’s so passionate in her dancing.

This is just incredible. This type of dances touches my heart so much.

I came across this video not that long ago, but I find myself coming back to it more. This dance is exceptional. You are a very talented and passionate dancer, and I think your face and body really connects to the lyrics as well. Even the quick jerk like movements of your head in the beginning are so subtle but I think it makes it that much more effective. And I especially love the parts starting from 1:33 through to 2:00. Amazing. Kudos to an outstanding performance!...

Wow, Daphne you are a talented dancer. Such a choreo is the reason why I started dancing contemporary. I loved watching the whole video. Its technically great + emotionally wonderful as well.

This is one of my most favourite dance videos of all time!! I watch it all the time and its so soothing and inspires me to get back into dancing

Your so amazing, I'm just starting dance and hopefully I'll get better. You have something special about you, I could strongly feel the connection through the music and your dance.

Beautiful dancing and choreography! Incredible center of gravity, use of turns, beats, emotion (could play up the vulnerability and inner physical fight with use of mistakes that don't look as "pretty" so to speak), composure and even the editing/cinematography help share a story...delightful to watch!

In this dance you can tell this is so powerful and the emotions are there

Constructive Criticism It felt as though you were performing the dance more than feeling it, which is shown by your facial expressions and very rarely your dance movements. The floor work at 0:50 is absolutely beautiful and unique to my eyes. I adore watching contemporary/modern dance choreography and haven't come across anything like that piece. Same again with the next few steps, during "that he's killing me for my sake." The sharp jolts need to be bigger and more powerful to give the dance more effect. In the sense that, something sharp and sudden has power over a peaceful dance. From roughly 2:00 - 2:55 involves a lot of running from one side of the stage to the other, as well as a lot of high leg movements. It seems repetitive and as though you didn't quite know how to choreograph that section? It's not always a bad thing, I just personally believe a dance is more appealing with more movements in such a part of the song. Honestly, overall I did enjoy watching it but being a dancer myself, I can't help but see imperfections. Good work and I hope you continue dance as a growing hobby/career, it's such a great stress reliever :)

SilentSecret I agree with the repeat at the end vs the unique variety at the beginning. Either follow a repeat format throughout or keep the guessing game coming! I will argue that her apathetic expression goes perfectly with the song, as she is supposed to be dead ;)

Being a dancer isn't just dancing. You have to know what to do in order to become one. It's a complex, but I still adore it. Your comment was very well put. :)

Thank you! I can't really describe how many hours, but it was in a period of 2 months I guess, including being home and thinking about the concept etc. But I wasn't working on it everyday, so it's hard to tell
