I love this arrangement so much. 2 years ago my little boy went up to heaven in a shocking stillbirth when I was 9 months pregnant. His name is Jude and whenever I miss him I listen to this song. It's such a beautiful and happy rendition of this song.

Edited - What I feel about Shillong Chamber Choir As a silent user/viewer, I barely give comments unless it's imperative. But right now I feel the urge to use this comment section as a platform to vent out my feelings towards these beautiful young souls. I apologise beforehand if I can't keep it short. 🙂 I remember praying wholeheartedly for Shillong Chamber Choir during those nerve-racking yet exuberant nights of India's Got Talent 2. Their win, did make Meghalaya and the rest of North Easterners proud. Needless to say, now that they have come a long way, I am extremely happy for their outstanding achievements and awards, not to mention the positive impact they have made on other individuals and society at large through their melodious vocals and a varied repertoire of music. Through the passing years, I have been watching their videos from time to time. Listening to Pritam's Gerua with the music re-arrangement by Mr. Neil Nongkynrih or as one may call him Uncle Neil, along with the euphonious voices of Iba and William gives me chills every time. But I'll admit that I was just a mere admirer, until recently when they dropped this video. Let alone how much I Iove both the music numbers, this rendition is so darn good that I lost count of the number of times I hit replay. Lately, I have been getting to know more about the choir and its members by reading some of the articles as well as watching their documentary and other affiliated videos uploaded by different establishments. Unanticipatedly, my love for them has grown exponentially and I have become such a fan! It happened right in front of our eyes that after winning the talent show, they have since travelled and performed on big stages in front of large audiences, from big names to rickshawalas (no condescension intended), across the country and around the globe, securing a place in the hearts of many people. What allures me is not only by their musical talent but their singing in different dialects and languages with style and ease, that too without looking at lyrics or notes. Remember, Hindi is not their first language, neither is English nor the other regional or international languages but they always sing with pure passion and emotion, embodying every piece of their music with their soul irrespective of the genres, be it folklore, classical, opera, contemporary or bollywood. The unsung heroes are the background musicians who have a stake in making the choir a notable influence. I applaud them for making good music. Leaving aside the music, the female members in particular always look stunning in their dresses/gowns (including the one which looks like a computer brush 😄) without looking contrived. Having worked together for more than a decade now, I reckon the attitudes of these talented and gifted women deconstruct the stereotypical notions about women. This shows the love and respect they have for each other is pure. It's no doubt that over the past years, the choir has set a standard of choral excellence. They are on another level! But what truly amazes and inspires me is their discipline and unity aside from their dedication towards their common goals. Above all, it's their humility which enthralls me the most. I don't see them flaunting their status nor exploiting their fame for their own ends. Rather they are laid-back yet intelligent, professional and elegant. This shows how much Mr. Neil Nongkynrih, the catalyst, loves and values this band because without a true leader, there isn't a standard to follow and group integrity eventually crumbles. Not only does he undeniably make excellent music but also instills a sense of loyalty, confidence and gratefulness in each and every member of the choir. I have nothing but respect for him. I wish and pray that each member excels and goes a long way in their respective future endeavours, even more so as a band. May God bless you Shillong Chamber Choir. PS: Iba, you are awesome!! Shillong choir you are Blessed to stand apart from the rest with the beautiful music arrangement. Primarily for the way you raised up your stage presence through decency and order. There still exist certain kind of audience who love stage discipline and you provide that. The order of personality maintained by you guys emotes around a dignified aura through singning, posture and costume where we are bound to respect your choir. I am from Shillong and proud of it, so finally shillongites are understanding that to get recognasation you have indanise yourselves bcos you ate Indians first then your ethnic diversity comes, historically it was always there but we see it eye to eye.
