Heuston Station is one of the main rail terminals in Dublin, primarily for services to the west and south of Ireland. It is located at the western end of Dublin city centre, between the River Liffey and the Guiness Brewery at James's Gate. Across the Liffey, at the northern end of Heuston Bridge is Parkgate Street ( • Parkgate Street Buses ... ) and the Phoenix Park.
The station is well connected to public transport. Two city routes and one airport route terminate at the station. One of these routes, the S2, started under Bus Connects in 2023 and provides new connections between the station and points around the city. Beside Heuston Station is St. John's Road West, which is the main artery between Dublin city centre and the west and south of Ireland. As a result it is well served by both city, regional and long-distance bus services. The Luas tram provides connections to Tallaght, Saggart, Connolly Station and the Point.
