Orthodoxy has its own music and its psaltic music. Unfortunately you can't really combine the spirit of Orthodoxy with rock, or pop music or, mabey any other instrument music.

You can certainly combine Orthodoxy with instrumental music -- just think of Tchaikovsky and his Hymn of the Cherubim, for example -- but it's much harder to do to good effect with rock music. I think some of the Russian rock singers-songwriters may be able to pull it off, but again, not for liturgical use.

This is not representative of Orthodox or even Hesychasm, why do you even have that word in the title.

It astonishes me, that anyone would put this video together with such mayhem for music! The "music" itself here completely contradicts all the visuals and the text of what is being prayed! God is not a God of confusion, mayhem, and disorder! But this music definitely is, and is therefore an affront to Almighty God!

brother, don't let your own misunderstanding of art, such as it is, blind you to the purpose of this music. even if it's metal which you find confusing and disorderly (i'll tell you honestly, compared to popular satanist noise "music", this is VERY neat and orderly) it comes from love for our God, not hate. the organ and chant section in the middle of this video is downright inspiring. surely you aren't letting man-made rules and ideas of what is and isn't "good music" dictate to you what art God does and doesn't approve of?

@@BarvGwydh i'm both. it can be done better and it can be done worse, but it's not automatically bad just because it's not centuries-old chants, nor should we let the enemy tell us what is his and what is ours. i've made one such attempt at this exact pairing before and i've, not to be arrogant, probably brought more youth to being interested in Christ than yet another gregorian chant would have. you should go check it out.

Just search progressive rock volume and would you see how similar they are compared to this video. @@TristanLouisino89 it really doesn't matter, it's splitting hairs at the end of the day. search up "black metal is surf" or "surf is black metal". people compare the 2 genres which can seem completely different, black metal is often very similar to surf but with more distortion etc.

These people do not really understand Orthodoxy. Why put rock which is aggressive music and most of the time evil in a video in a video about the teachings of Christ? This might be confusing for people that are not Orthodox.

Really? This "orthodox" song is way too protestant. Don't add instruments that are not sacral to give glory to the only God!

Can't approve this as an orthodox, the loud music is deafening the holy words of the scripture that is silent in the background... I mean cool concept but not appropriate, you can't mix the words of scriptute with such loud music that is used in diabolical stuff. Not approved 👎☦️

If that’s supposed to be an excuse for the music, it’s a very poor one

Please remove this. It denigrates our faith. Orthodoxy states clearly that the human voice is the perfect and only instrument for chants and hymns. Worldly instruments cheapens Christs message. As a former metal head it must be kept separate.
