    OMG!!!!!!! I was so ready to give up on ever learning to make a pair of herringbone earrings after trying half a day with someone elses' instructions. I am so glad that I kept looking for another video. Yours is the easiest one I found.I want to start right now but I have an appt but as soon as I walk in the door I will be getting started. For my USA sisters the gauges are 20 gauge and 26 gauge. LET'S GET STARTED

    For anyone reading this in January of 2023, the 0.8 gauge wire US equivalent is 20 gauge round. This video doesn’t mention a hardness and all I could find was a medium temper. This was an issue for me and I saw that someone else had asked this question in the comments. I hope this answer is helpful.

    I have watched the same 4 seconds of video at least 50 times trying to figure out how this piece gets flipped around. 2:35 - 2:39. I am so lost and confused about she goes from bead on tail side, and on the left with working wire on the bottom to "what I want it to do is come from the top" ... She flips it around somehow and has the bead above the wrap, with the working wire "coming from the left, over the top of base wire and "from the top" to begin wrapping. I have wasted more wire trying to get this configuration and finally gave up assuming it must be error on my part or hers. It's a real shame because I love this earring but simply can't figure out that little flip around that happens at 2:37. : ( However many times I try and do it over and over again, I seem to have the exact opposite of what she has, but exactly the same every time.

  • @nylabrookes

    @nylabrookes

    Жыл бұрын

    Don't know if you figured this out but I see where the confusion would be. What she is saying is once you trace the wire along the bead wrap 2x. Then flip, trace the otherside of the bead again and cross the wire over the top of the base wire (3:45) mark. The wrapping wire should always go over the top of the base wire to wrap. DO NOT pull the wrapping wire under the base wire and wrap. Cross the wrapping wire over the top of the base wire and wrap next to the first wrap 2x flip and repeat. So just make sure you all ways place the wrapping wire crossing over the base wire when you flip. Trace the bead with the wire and repeat until you have 5 wraps. Hope this is helpful to you or someone else having the same question.
