This seems intriguing in theory, but the top bowl needs to be bigger so they can get to the water. Their whiskers are very sensitive. Also, my cats would knock this over in 5 seconds. It needs to be more stable on the sides to prevent tipping.

This principle will work if you used huge barrels the cat wouldn´t tip over and a kitchen sink on top so your cats whiskers were untouched. OR!! OR!!! If this was just internal mechanism and was covered in a heavier casing, that would also prevent from tipping. Boy, imagine the possibilities... This person made a simple presentation on how it works. If he made some fine wooden casing some people could comment that there is an electric fountain hidden inside and that it doesn´t really work like that. Think please... DIY stands for "Do it yourself". So DIY better and to your liking.

I was just thinking of something for my cats that doesn't need electricity, your awesome! But can this be modified into something healthy for cats to drink out of, like an aluminum bowl, a filter, and something to hold it together as the stuff used in the cracks of fish tanks?

I really like your video. Very Interesting. The reason your cat didn't drink was because of whisker stress. They do not like drinking out of anything that will touch the edges of their whiskers. The bowl should be large enough in diameter where their whiskers do not touch the bowl on either side. So, if the straw was long enough to reach over the side into a larger round bowl she would drink. Thank you for the video.

0% Logical, Not sure why people are just sugar coating. It's totally useless. Be honest. There's no way Cat can drink from it.

probably like this: gravity makes the water go from the top bottle to the bottom bottle -> water level at the bottom forces the air from the bottom bottle to the middle bottle -> increasing air pressure in the middle bottle forces water in middle bottle to go up to the top bottle

How long untill the water stopped pumping?

till the bottle out of water then you have to flip it again and it should work

A minute or two. It depends on the size of the flasks and how high the top straw is, but not very long either way.

It will stop when the air came out take like 1-2 minutes then you flip back to fill in air and you will have another 2 minutes
