Ребята, если что, этот ролик не "ХотС против Доты 2", а просто сравнение моделей персонажей наиболее подходящих друг другу. Модели из ХотСа намного лучше, но есть и исключения, это отрицать бессмысленно. Если хотите узнать, какая игра лучше, то вот вам моё мнение : обе игры хороши, у каждой есть свои плюсы и минусы. Мне больше нравится ХотС. И нет, он не такой легкий, как может показаться с первого взгляда.

Мне тоже ХоТС больше нравиться, нет нудного фарма, с первых секунд игры драка.. ну и конечно ХоТС куда более командная игра чем ДОТА, соло тащить не получится, особенно если противники хоть немного командно играют... Хотя самым большим косяком ДОТЫ считаю наличие всего одной карты, вообще никакого разнообразия.. в общем ДОТЕ как первопроходцу жанра респект, но она уже безнадежно отстала от времени... П.С. еще плюсом ХоТС можно назвать персонажей, это не какие то ноунеймы с абилками, а личности с богатой историей... черт, некоторым персонажам уже третий десяток лет пошел! :)

Я только что посмотрел Dota WTF и нашел ещё один плюс хотса : нет рандомности. В хотсе тебя не застанят 30 раз подряд с шансом 25%. Да и не только стан, тот же эвейжн, криты так же работают.

The HoTs models seem to just have more detail, except murky and slark lol And no, chen is not left handed. He just carries whats more important in his right

I really don't understand why people are getting huffy and arguing like children. I found the comparisons of character archetypes and thematic similarities fascinating and I don't think the video posed the idea of any form of copy-catting or downplaying models. Very nice choices of music for each comparison, by the way!

dota dragon knight would win in the long run since he has tremendous armour and health regen, while the hots one has no armour and his health runs out, also hots numbers are higher than dota numbers, so 500 dmg in hots would be around 300 dmg in dota.

Blizzard have turned to shit. Their games are awful now. WoW has gone down a dumpster ever since Cata. Overwatch is over-rated and doesn't hold a candle to CS:GO in terms of shooters. Diablo 3 is a fucking joke, bested by an indie game called Path of Exile. SC2 has little to nothing going for it, RTS games are a thing of the past. HotS is just a lite lite lite version of DotA. Only Hearthstone is somewhat decent but that's a fucking TCG.

Sadly a lot of the particles, animations, jiggle maps, and cloth physics for the Dota2 models don;t work in SFM, so they are missing them here. The heroes are shown a lot bigger in HotS, so they would have larger polymesh and textures, it just makes sense. I just wish Blizzard stopped with the massive shoulder pads!

Dota owes most of it's existence to Blizzard, particularly Warcraft 3, while both games are different enough from each other, this is mostly a case of name brand vs best value.

It has been almost 2 years. Both games have had many new faces. Would you please make an updated version?

Beyond all the typical "COPY" comments coming from people who don't know the history of the games little alone the genre itself, I struggle to say who really 'wins' I don't think there is a winner as far as whose models are better. Yes Blizzard technically owns the models all of Dota 2 (minus the upcoming Monkey King) base their heroes off and yes it is correct that the HotS models detail far outshines Dota 2's with just the small details, the textures of the skin and clothing plus the little details like scars, clothes and objects but I feel D2 has its own merits in the sense while it may have started off as a mod for WC3 (technically the roots go back to SC:BW) but how they have designed a lot of their heroes to make them unique but still feel like the character they were originally linked to is amazing, a lot of them looking good in their own way. I can't pick a winner cause there isn't a contest here in my eyes. They are both amazing at what they do in different ways and reach out to a much different audience each way.

The thing I find interesting is that dota clearly has copied diablo and starcraft characters aswell. I mean just look at Skeleton King, clearly a copy of Leoric _THE_ Skeleton King. Im a dota player and I play hots aswell but I just find it silly that valve cant come up with their own stuff. Even newer releases has been copied :(

But the only issue i'm having is that the animation length is way to long for me to use. Everytime i export the .dmx file and import it into Blender it has about a length of 1450 frames and that's due to SFM. So how can I decrease the length of the animation in SFM, but keeping a looping animation? Thanks,

In 3ds max need use Taylor animations script, It allows you to separate the animation from each other with its name. In blender will have to be divided only manually.

Considering most of the characters in Heroes were around before DOTA 2 was even created, I don't really think this holds much water. Yes, DOTA 2 was out before HotS, but the characters themselves were present in WoW and Starcraft especially, long before DOTA 2. It's actually a WHOLE LOT more likely that the characters in their respective games were inspiration for DOTA 2's characters.

Michael Lewis nope, you are totally wrong, just because they look the same doesnt mean they took inspiration from warcraft, the only reason why they look the same is because original dota was a custom map in warcraft and so they have to use the warcraft hero models, as for skills, lore, and concept of the heroes from dota are orginal

Well they did took inspiration from blizzard but they do not have same characters though as in dota 2 they created their own lore and each character has their own traits and personalities different from their blizzard counterparts

a little surprized that Storm Spirit, Ember Spirit, and Earth spirit weren't compaired to chen's spirits ult as well. since they also looked eerily similar. also, that ending was amazing.

Do the Dota characters' capes/robes actually as stiff as cardboard in the game? Or are their ingame movements actually flowy and smooth?

I expected DOTA2 bias in the comments, but I found a lot of HotS bias instead

lucas santinos skeleton king in dota wasn't just a copy of leoric...he was leoric In dota 2 they changed it to avoid copyright of course but I think that the term "skeleton king" can't easily be copyrighted since it's a loose term...valve just did it to not get confused with leoric So yeah valve paying respects to blizzard

Are Wraith King and Skeleton King the same person? or do they just have the same sword and look similar? Also, I note that a lot of the DOTA 2 models that are very similar to the Blizzard ones have their weapons in the opposite hands.

I mean the skeleton king in DOTA 2. I'm comparing the two DOTA characters at 1:10 and 8:04. Look at that sword, with the two flanges at the top in lieu of a point, and the spinal column design down the middle, where the fuller would normally be. That looks like the same sword to me, so I wondered if they were the same character, in various states of decay.

Ive played both, prefer dota 2 but think hots has a lot of potential when they flush out the hero pool and fix some balancing and meta issues. Mostly play poe now anyways

Vilajeet Samom sometimes im think that hots players more toxic than dota players.

Given the history of DOTA, you can clearly see which heroes come from very specific Warcraft 3 units. Sure, once DOTA 2 was released as a separate game, they had to modify the models to avoid legal issues, and while they made a pretty damn good job at it (I mean, the quality of most models is pretty damn fine), the influence is insanely clear, especially for those familiar with WC3 units. What I find interesting though, is clear similarity with some Diablo related stuff.

Такое видео (Слайдшоу) уже давно есть. Модельки из варктафт 3 портировать нет смысла, зачем мне их использовать в будущем, если есть модели качества лучше (но есть исключение : Послушник и сериальчик Закат Лордерона)

Yeah but why does dota/valve copying DIABLO AND STARCRAFT character aswell? Just look at Skeleton King, hes clearly a copy of THE skeleton king LEORIC from diablo franshise. Im a dota player and A HUGE fan of dota but I just find this insulting towards blizzard tbh.

Cristofer Erlandsson again dota was originally a mod 4 Warcraft 3 so it had the benefit of bringing in other characters wether it be from the other blizzard titles or they could even bring it characters from anime if they really wanted to There's no insult in this
