I was 19 yrs old living in a rental home with 3 other college girls. My little chihuahua dog woke me up barking barking by my head. She wouldnt shut up so I got up to put her out of the bedroom. When I opened the door I saw the house was filled w/smoke. A log had rolled out of the fireplace and was smoldering on the wood floor. Little dog saved us all from smoke inhalation as we slept.🐕🐶

My border collie saved my life when I was 14. I was home alone, and started feeling bad. Didn’t think much of it. I was tired. I sat down and he kept barking at me. I let him out, and he’d turn right back around and bark at the door. I let him in. Same thing, in my face barking while I sat. Let him out. Barked to get in. This happened 3 or so times, at this point I was starting to throw up. I went out with him, and sat there till my parents got home. He sat in front of me quite. I told my parents I felt sick and tired and went to lay down. A few mins later my mom came running in and woke me up to go to the hospital. My dad had come to find out our furnace had back fired, and I had been breathing carbon monoxide for hrs. The detector we had, had died sometime that wk. Cause they had just checked a few days ago. He was such a good dog.

My dog Sammy was a shar-pei that saved me from getting bit by a rattlesnake when I was 16 years old just out of nowhere I heard the rattle and froze up not knowing where the snake was in the high grass he ran up to it and got bit I saw it and killed a 5 foot 4 inch long rattlesnake. It struck him in the face my dog survived though the vet said if he had been bitten anywhere else my dog would have died.

I remember a "Rescue 911" episode about a parrot that saved a family from a gas leak. In 1983 a broken gas regulator resulted in an over-pressured gas system in East Boston which damaged furnaces which aren't designed for that pressure and resulted in gas flooding into many homes in an entire neighborhood. The parrot freaked out and woke up the family. In 2018, a Boston suburb had a similar overpressure issue making me wonder about the quality of their gas infrastructure.

@@AccidentallyOnPurpose Apparently most birds lack much of a sense of smell. However, some birds have well-developed olfactory glands. Those birds include vultures, seabirds, kiwis, and... (drumroll) parrots. It's possible the parrot was reacting to the mercaptan added to natural gas that gives it that rotten egg smell of warning. I like to imagine the parrot was trying to say, "I'm not going to be your !@#$-ing canary!"

When I lived in Spain I shared a apartment with a friend and she had a cat - Roka- who had been rescued as a kitten. One night the cat instead of running into the bushes like she usually did after escorting us out of the apartment complex she followed us down the road to the local bar. She would not go home no matter how many times we tried to get her to go home she wouldn't leave us, We sat in the bar chatting to our boyfriends who were working there and the cat sat outside under a table looking in at us. A half an hour later the heavens opened and a deluge descended on the town. After 30 minutes of this our boyfriends told us to go home because all the lights would go out in the streets. Halfway up the hill to the apartment we were plunged into darkness, we could not see a thing. to the rescue came Roka meowing and we looked in the direction and we could see her eyes glowing.... Roka would meow after walking ahead a few paces and stop and wait for us to catch up them she would walk on.That little cat took us all the way back home in the pouring rain.

Luna definitely knew it was danger and was definitely trying to alert her family. She is a beautiful amazing great girl🐕🐾

My cat Jake did the very same thing, I'd started sleep walking and would cook while doing so. I must have left the stove on cause I woke up to smoke covering my whole bedroom. Jake had been meowing and furiously brushing my face. I panicked cause Jake and his sister Ginger had just had two little kittens so I was about to break the window in front of my bed. God told me not to but to follow Jake, I crouched down under the smoke and followed him to my kitchen with him stopping to make sure I was still close every few steps. He led me to the stove which had been smoking because the grease left on the stove while I was sleep walking was burning but had not caught fire. Jake is loving in a selfless way that I don't see in most cats and I've had several. He's been a father several times including to kittens that were not his which is odd for a male cat but he was protective more so than their mother! When I brought in orphans he'd take them under the couch until they needed to nurse and he would allow Ginger to nurse them and then he'd go back to them! He even waits for the younger cats to eat first then he'll eat! He is just amazing and I know he was a gift from the Lord without a doubt.

I lost a cousin to carbon monoxide poisoning. It makes me wish his family had had a pet. He sensed something was wrong & went to go check a machine in the basement. All I remember being told is that the machine sort of "blew up" carbon monoxide in his face. The whole family went to the ER, and everyone made it but him because he'd had more contact with the gas. 😔

This cousin of mine was much older than myself and my little sister. A while (idk how long bc I was too young at the time) before his death, he was at my house when my parents got into a 4-wheeler accident. Somehow he had just sensed something was wrong and he sprinted down the driveway. (we lived very rural & had a driveway over a mile long with a right angle turn in it so at a certain point you couldn't see the driveway anymore) He came running back & told myself & my sister that he had to take our parents to the hospital. They both had multiple broken bones and had flipped the 4-wheeler just out of sight from the house. I sometimes think about how that day would've gone if he hadn't been there. My sis and I were too young to have done anything to help..

I love cats and dogs.......they are definitely angels on Earth.

This is why people should listen to their pets because once when i was a kid i was standing and walking on ice and when my dog barked at me i did not move and then moments later i heard the ice cracking and i fell though and i got out safely then went home.

The fact that Luna saved her family has nothing to do withe her being a Malmut mix. There's literally several, not just dogs, but animals that showed the exact same behavior as hers. Most dogs will be persistent in showing their owner that there's danger in their house.

My Dad saved the lives of my Sister and her twin 2year old son's, when he went over to visit, and found them all passed out. He carried them outside and called 911. Thank God he went over there! Actually, the reason he went over in the first place, was to apologize because my Sister was mad at him for taking the boy's to get their hair cut, " it was driving him nuts" 😵 when he SAID he was taking them to the park. Needless to say, after that! All was forgiven😊

I cannot swim. But I went to far out in the river. My companion dog surrounded me in the water and lead me out of the water. She saved me. She was so awesome.

Animals are great heroes. I had two dogs that were both heroes. Ledger and Art. I will never forget them or what they did for me. They protected me and loved me.

I am scared to death of dogs in person. I have scars on my face and legs because I got attacked by a dog (my grandpa’s dog) when I was 4 yrs old. I love watching vids like this because I wish I had a dog like Luna and not be scared. Animals truly are amazing little family members.

I am sorry that you had that bad accident with your grandpa´s dog. But it is totally great that you watch videos like this to lose your fear. :-) I am sure that you will be able to have a dog - maybe you could start with a really small one like a Pomeranian? They are soo cute, one simply cannot be afraid of them :-) but they are also intelligent, brave and protective.

@@ninny6296 spend time with someone else's good boy or girl if possible. The dog that attacked you was probably traumatised as well. No need to be afraid. But never be embarrassed. Some of the toughest people i know would cross the road if they saw a little pup on a lead. After spending time with my great dane and cautiously feeding her a bit of goat. One guy went on to own and raise over 11 puppies 😅

Yes I know this is late but once when I was 9 I taking a shower and a creepy family friend was in the house while my parents went shopping he pulled me outta my shower and started molesting me after a few minutes I broke free of his grip ran down the halls and grabbed a kitchen knife put it near me then grabbed my dads gun I had shot guns since I was 7 at trees and old bottles. Even though I was traumatized my overly innocent self at the time did not want him to die so I shot him in the leg before shooting him in the other leg. Then I called the police and put some cloths on. I broke down like a baby crying after the police got there. After about a week I started to mentally recover. Then a year later when I was 10 someone broke in the house and threatened me for my family’s money when they weren’t looking I shot at them I was not as afraid as last time they fled and they where arrested shortly thereafter. Your not alone when it comes to trauma I wasn’t that traumatized or maybe I was and didn’t know it however I still was overly happy smiling and just relaxed like nothing had happened after that first week that first week I went through hell and back. However once in a while it would all come back to me like in a flashback. The way my brain handled trauma was weird I even would talk about it in school to friends. I never let it bother me except during those flashbacks. My point is every handles trauma different some people get more trauma some less I was lucky to not get as traumatized as most people my age would. You got to do what you think would help. If you really want to own a dog that bad then if you feel like your ready try to go to a place that trains dogs real well and just be around dogs on leashes for a bit get your brain used to being around them after a little while once your more comfortable around them then try buying a dog. Even a small dog that you could pick up at would work. If you are not ready for a dog mentally then maybe try seeing a therapist and they might be able to help you out. 😀

My dog would watch while the kid broke the eggs then had eggs for breakfast 😂

Winnie was not just a cat but a true heroine! And considering her owner took her in and raised her as a part of her family and in turn she saved her family from deadly carbon monoxide. This goes to show you that if you do good for someone then someone will do good for you in return. One good deed deserves another! God bless her soul and her beloved family! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

My dog Micki saved us by waking my mother up when there was a fire in the attic. Micki , a well-behaved mutt, would not have normally jumped right up on top of my Mom, licked her face, and BARKED right at her.

This dog is amazing.Mine was Nera and she was killed by car many years ago...She protected me i always had a feeling im not walking a dog...it was im walking the wolf...One time huge agressive german shepperd run towards us his body was in attack mode...i freeze from fear for her...but what had happened amazed me...2 meters away from her he stopped like he knew she is not a game...she just showed him her teeth...no sound,nothing...and he nist turned back and letft...I had many dogs but malamute dog is the most amazing i ever had...she had a puppy and the puppy had been smaller but very smart and brave like her mom...sooo protective for owner,amaxing for kids...

I had a Husky...They are incredibly Loyal. They can be rough..But they are smart and he might have saved me. Coyotes were stalking us I couldn't see them. But he constantly made a MEAN Growl...I basically followed him home. Then, I seen the coyotes following us.

@HeyIt'sAmanda yes in the situation I'm referring to if a dog was just taken into a home, they'll raise the alarm more out of self preparation we all have a strong survival instinct human and animal, its strange you reply to this right now, my cat woke me as she was freaked out my husband had died in bed beside me two nights ago, he had mark's on his face where she was trying to rouse him when she couldn't wake him she came woke me, when someone dies at home the police need to come I was worried they'd think I gave him a few slaps across the face...I just uploaded a tribute to him, ikr my channel is about Macaw but lots of my subscribers would have seen him in video's..

I had a similar experience. I raised Shetland sheepdogs, at the time. One day, when I looked out my window, I saw my Shelties digging furiously along my fence line. That was strange because Shelties aren't normally diggers. It was obvious something was going on so I went out to check. As I got near them I smelled gas. I called the gas company and they sent someone out. The dogs had discovered a leak in the gas line to the house. The line was promptly replaced. It was a near miss because people walked along my fence line all the time. Many of them would be smoking as they walked. It was the quick detection, by the dogs, that kept the incident to just a hair-raising event.

Kids go outside to play and mum's like "Luna's in charge okay"

Regarding the dog and the natural gas leak.....I have a very good sense of smell, noticing natural gas leaks long before other people do. However, one time I was wrong. I thought I smelled natural gas, but it was a dead cat under a vacant house we owned. So, I'm guessing the natural gas might've smelled like a dead animal, to the dog. Nothing's more fun for a dog than digging up dead critters and rolling in them....lol. I'm guessing that's why the dog was digging at the gas leak....not to protect the family. Obviously, dogs do protect their people. But, this time, it might've just been digging because it smelled something like a dead animal. But, you never know.....

That is so cool. I had a dog that was really smart she was like a Houdini! Very smart. One morning he was barking like trying to get my attention. When I went to check her I rean into a spiderweb that was about at least 10 across. When I backup up I noticed 2 great big tarantula looking spiders coming down the web towards. I froze!!! My dog was barking and he literally broke his enclouser to get my attention. When I realized that the spiders were like 6 feet above my head, I ran screaming!!! with my dog right behind me we went inside to get help from my brother. When he saw the spiders he was shocked. we threw rocks and we didn't see the spiders anymore after that.

dogs are a human "invention" thru selective breeding, dogs' ancestors the wolves could care less abut humans, thank the people who long ago decided to keep and breed the most tame offspring that evolved into the 150+ different dog breeds we enjoy today.

I've noticed that in a few episodes of these, in fact, it's not really just this series either; there are a number of other series that detail animal type rescues and cats are always given the short straw and looked down upon. As someone who deals with severe depression, I wouldn't be alive today without my cat stopping me from doing the unthinkable (twice)

My pointer and mastiff saved my life because when I was going for a walk my pointer kept acting funny so I followed him and my mastiff was walking next to me.For half an hour we finally maid it to where he wanted to go there was a vicious pack of wolfs and they charged at me and the wolf and my dogs were fighting and luckily I had my gun on me so I shot all of them and I took my dogs to the vets and the pointer had a broken leg and the mastiff had load of scratches on him but they recovered BUT I STILL LOVE ANIMALS

In both of these videos 1 think is apparent, gas leaks are also known as the SILENT KILLER because humans can't smell it but dogs can and in some cases it will explode and sometimes here in NYC it's in the news and sometimes people die, sad but true and usually it's kids and the elderly

Of course she smelled the danger just as they can smell rotting tissue in humans etc.all animals can tell when a human or animal is dying, its part of their survival instinct. It's nothing new . Always listen to your cats and dogs,cats astral travel they deserve the same noteriety it's part of their daily existence.

Winny would have had to be taken to a vet, there is no way. CO is more toxic to cats than it is humans, I'm surprised she was conscious and could still meow.

Yeah, most likely, and she could probably smell it. Animals usually die first from carbon monoxide because it takes far less to kill them than humans, so I think she was really feeling it.

Gas rises so the cat wasn’t as affected yet but knew something was wrong they can sense are vitals so when they changed she could also tell.
