@@sambuma That was the whole point of the contraption. It was set up to routinely break, so Etho would do the maintenance. Instead of being a farm you would forget for the rest of the season and leave it run in the background, he wanted it to be visited constantly.

When that sugar farm blew up, that brought me so much joy and laughter. Not because I like seeing Doc, or anyone, fail, but because it reminded me no matter how much of an expert you are in a given field sometimes things just blow up. Thanks for the unintentional motivation to keep going, Doc!

If I remember correctly, the centre of the perimeter would be occupied by the Drowned farm right? So instead of making the arena down below, make it high above. Like y=80 or 90. That will allow a good view of the entire perimeter and everything around it.

Maybe he could have a nether portal leading directly to the inside of the arena and have the other hermits only enter through there instead of flying directly into the perimeter so they don't accidentally spoil anything that Doc's building.

​​​​@@andrewbloom7694 It probably would be hard to figure out....on the other hand we've got a fanbase that math'ed up the seed based on coordinates of some bedrock in the Nether ceiling...😅 ...on the _other_ other hand, how much of a problem are spoilers these days? If anything, little glances mostly just build hype, and Doc has a pretty consistent upload schedule so it's not like there'd be weeks of speculation before a reveal. There's way more regular livestreaming on the server in the past couple of seasons, yet I rarely hear complaints of spoilers...I assume they have a system in place to warn each other away from any major (potentially disruptive) spoilers. Easy enough to just alert all the game masters that the perimeter is unavailable for a week.

I love everything about Doccy being a mini-Redstone prodigy.

If there was a way to build a bridge from some floor of your main base to the arena, it would give a reason for visitors to use your elevator, which is WAY to cool to be sitting there unused!

You should definitely build the arena under the perimeter in the void. This is total not a bad idea.

@@enolopanr9820 Youre not supposed to be able to. But using glitched shulkers (the mob, not the boxes) I think there might be a way. However, building an entire arena in the Void would be a technical accomplishment that makes the Arrow Cannon or capturing and moving the Ender Dragon look like child's play. Problem is, although I think it might be technically possible, every time you get shulkers to teleport you cant control where they go, they just teleport randomly. So maybe if you manipulated thousands upon thousands of shulkers to teleport into the Void maybe eventually youd end up with a configuration that MAYBE could be usable, but the amount of time and effort required might very well be on the scale of walking to the Far Lands. Long story short, maybe possible, probably not before the season is LONG since over though. I dont know, the Hive Mind makes a force of nature look weak, so maybe some kook out there will make it feasible.

I love to see you make an anvil launcher, so you can hit almost anywhere in the TCG arena in the perimeter! Edit: I put this message when doc was first talking about the arena but now later in the episode it sounds like that's what "project falling skies" will be.

This "perimeter arena" idea gave me another one: thematic arenas. One in a cold biome, other in the nether in the middle of a pool of lava, and so on.

If everyone is building their own TCG arena, you could theme them like Pokémon Gyms! and give out custom badges for beating your best deck! Doc, you could be the Prankster Gym!

One reason to not build the arena in the perimeter is because I think the epic perimeter views you get is because of your client-side caching plugin. Those hermits that don't have that may have a considerably more janky view of things in their videos.

Great placement for the arena. You should integrate some Easter eggs with it for the perimeter. Maybe some switches, farm status, options for controls in the farm, secrets to send anvils on players, and of course like others have mentioned the arrow of doom.

A really important thing to remember if you’re going to put the arena above a farm is to make sure it is not directly above, or else it will ruin the height map and destroy the rates of the farm.

I think the arena should just FLY. Making the arena somewhat high above the perimeter floor and giving it the design of a mechanical flying machine (doesn't need to be an actual flying machine, just need a cool design) will make it fit in with the theme of the Perimeter and furthermore provides a decent amount of area underneath the arena for automation and card shuffling.

An arena with a pit that opens into the void would be great. Sending those who lose into the shadow realm.

You might consider building a bat-mobswitch. And this as a gift for Tango with his Decked Out. Those bats are driving him batty lol. And it would be a technical build I have not seen on HC yet ;)

When I started playing my youngest created a teaching world for me, they'd set up displays with different mobs, followed by a test with with multiple choice questions on signs. It was so cool.

You can put the tcg arena in the sky above the perimeter, and make it so that nothing can spawn on it. Plus it will still overlook the perimeter

I think you could build the TCG arena in the middle but elevate it, so the space BELOW can be used as a farm! and also a floating arena in the middle of the perimeter will look EPIC!

I'd place the TCG Arena in the hall of GOAT. Having the board flanked by those massive statues would be such a vibe.

Well...even tho it's sad that the old arena is gone, i like the idea of having a TCG arena in the middle of the perimeter... But since we don't know how big in hight future farms will be... My little ones had been practicing with the balance bikes for a while and just last year finally got the hang of pedal-bikes. (It's a little more common, I think, in the US for people to start kids with training wheels, but I think that's a little counterproductive as it doesn't teach them to balance the bike themselves) We haven't been riding lately due to the cold weather but looking forward to new bicycle adventures in the spring

You should build it so that it’s a room along the elevator. It would be fun to have the card room on one floor and the arena on another floor. Just an alternate idea. Could be a cool view of the perimeter as well.

Hearing your plans for docy regarding redstone, it brings to mind those the family dramas revolving around expecations and having different wants than your family. Great idea to create a TCG arena. I think you should add a mod to it, I recommend the Random Rule mod. After both players have added their decks to the game they press a button that randomizes a game rule. Possible game rules: - Normal game - Switch places. You play with the opponents deck. You do not get to keep it after the match - Strengths are weird. All strengths reverses, you are strong against classes you normally are weak against and weak against normally strong classes - The floor is lava. All played hermits take 20 damage each turn, both AFK and active hermits - Armour up. All hermits have armour, taking 20 less damage than normal - Cards galore. At the end of each turn you draw 2 cards instead of 1 - Minimal board. You can have only one active and one AFK hermit on the board at any time - Unsafe AFK. Even AFK hermits can be attacked, but takes only half the damage

I think a glass floored arena above the perimeter would be far better. Easier viewing, and allows for a (slightly less efficient) farm underneath as a centerpiece!

TNT harvesting sugarcane is actually a really cool idea. It never obstructs the growth of the sugarcane, though at the cost of space efficiency.

My son was the one who got me into Minecraft. This was years ago, early minecraft days, when he first started to play the game he was just exploring hiding in dirt holes, running away from mobs. He had no idea that crafting was even in the game. As Dad i knew there had to be more to the game, so I did the research and had to learn how to play myself to lead him down a fun path I knew was there. Now we are 10 years later and I am the one still playing and watching Minecraft Videos :)

I just had a big brain idea, get some tadpoles and add them to the perimiter pond. Then when they grow up, breed them some and you will have an army of slime eating frogs.
