Because season 8 is the latest one on there, he assumed that it was the current one, and therefore assumed season 7 was the one before and season 6 was the one before that. Of course, they don’t have season 9 since it’s still ongoing, but Grian didn’t think about that in the moment (as it’s a small detail)

One of my all time favorite builds is Etho's Monstrosity, from the outside it looks like a condensed ball of random blocks but the second you land you are lost in a floating interior. (I really want to see and Etho × Grian Collab where Etho builds a floating interior and grian builds an exterior around it, maybe S10 could have everyone have base buddies if it ends up being shorter like S8.)

The reason Mumbo lit the seafloor was to increase the efficiency of his guardian farm, to make sure that all the mobs spawned in the base

except this was before 1.13, so the only thing spawning in the ocean were squid (as acknowledged at 15:27) there were also tons of light level 0 spots in between there (and at this point mobs spawned under level 7 still) the ocean monument could still have had spawns outside of the farm, except he completely emptied out the water in that part (oh also, spawns in the ocean don't just happen on the floor, they can happen at any level in the water, so lighting up the floor after 1.13 would be useless as well) (and guardians spawn at any light level) he just thought it looked nice and was relaxing to place

Scar: “I️ spent so much time working on this that I️ ended up in the hospital.” Yeah that sounds about right

Love Scar's commentary through this and his "That's an interesting view from above" 😂 Also amazing how quickly they were able to guess them all

Wow, this is hilarious, 2 silly friends messing around with things that they’re best and worst at😂

I love this so much! It’d be so fun to see it played with more Hermits, or other Hermits playing it. And there definitely needs to be some more obscure locations. I can imagine some really hard ones: inside a small room inside someone’s base (it’s hard to figure out where it is from outside). In the middle of some redstone wiring and you have to figure out which contraption it is! You could even have places that are pretty well known but are totally underground so it’s hard to tell from the surface! Or just more obscure places that are farther away, like someone’s Ice Farm or personal industrial district that’s pretty far from everyone else’s base! I think it would also benefit from having more variety. Like Grian mentioned, it seemed like a disproportionate amount of locations came from Mumbo, Scar, and Himself. It would be awesome to see more from all the other hermits. Some really hard locations could just be places that one hermit built and went to often, but none of the other Hermits ever go there.

Ultimately I had to balance the audience of the game, I initially did have many challenging places but removed a decent number because I wanted casual fans to be able to get it right too (same reason for the 10 block area for 100pts). Scar, if you read this, the mushroom wasn't the resistance base where you and Bdubs met your untimely ends. That was before the resistance was out in the open and they had the two identical bases under the shopping district...

It might be crazy to see how confounded they’d be if they had the first three seasons available as well, seeing as they both joined after Season 3

Things like these are so fun to see once in a while! The hermits interacting and having fun in different scenarios outside of the server is always lovely to see.

1. Love seeing scar and grain just exist together 2. Love this game, very nostalgia 3. Love it if they added some more obscure locations like they said, and just more locations in general, play 10 rounds and you start seeing repeats

Oh this definitely needs a hermit difficulty!! It was a lot of fun listening to you guys reminisce about earlier seasons

For someone who started watching Mumbo during Season4 I got way too many memories of his base during this, the Drone, the iron farms, the multi storey storage systems and Spoon counters as well as a the tiny industrial zone that focused on crops.

You can kind of see the power beam under the drone in the first shot of Season 4, the one in Cub’s park

"What is that" "A shipwreck?" "But shipwrecks weren't in the game yet." THAT was Mumbo's Ship in a bottle, he planned to make that base centered around the aquatic update, and so his "starter base" was a Ship he built underwater around his eventual base, he lit up the whole area with lights because he liked how it looked, or rather the dark blue of the ocean clashed with his base and he wanted something more majestic, (if I'm remembering right), also, next to that ship was Bakini Bottom, or at least Squidward, Patrick, and Sponguebob's houses. That came from a prank.

If I'm not mistaken, Docm77 used to have a series of GeoGuessr videos (some years ago now) so it would be fun to see him take on the challenge with a familiar twist!!

It is so wholesome! Honestly would watch whole series of this, with Grian and Scar and/or even with other hermits!

As always, when I'm at my lowest, one of the hermits brings something out to put a smile on my face. I tried to play it but only seasons 7 and 8 and I still didn't do all that well. 😅

Gotta see Doc do this now, as he had an actual geoguessr series some years ago!

i love seeing much more relaxed, light hearted, less planned and more laid back fun made by two friends. the more organised content on the main grian channel of course is our shining star, but stuff like this presents a much more natural and fun side that many people seek to see in creators these days. you can tell that you guys didnt hype yourselves up beforehand to create a booming introduction, and you simply pressed record and kept your usual selves going. i always enjoy seeing a more raw side to our favourite creators and i know many do too. i love this type of content, keep it up :)

The sea lanterns around Mumbo's season 5 base were to prevent squid spawning which would have made his farms less efficient. I can't remember if it was for a squid farm or his guardian farm

Now all I want is for Scar to take Grian on a tour of past Grian-less seasons.

I would love to see Scar take Grian on a tour through the world downloads for some of those earlier seasons. There's so much history that he doesn't know a lot about!

I love all the chill, friendly interactions between Hermits, but Grian and Scar's dynamic is hands down my favourite, they always bring a huge smile to my face ^.^

It's so cute watching them reminiscing and talking about different builds! Especially when Scar was explaining stuff from seasons 4-5, he sounded like when you come to your older relative and they pull out a photo album and start going through their youth (a very criminal 'youth' for Scar lol)

Me and my friend spent hours playing this a couple weeks ago and our best score was 500 points in 58 seconds (Mostly just from memorization because she'd only seen a few videos) (we also kept naming ourselves Mike for some reason)

This was so fun! I would love to see a session with Mumbo too.

Some of Mumbo's season 5 stuff was just one minecraft update too early in a funny way, he made a shipwreck build that looked terrible without the new waterlogging mechanics and lit up the entire seafloor before there was any reason to do it, or a fast way to swim..
