This is my theory, the moon Isn't getting bigger, It's just getting closer. with the Minecraft 1.18 update coming out soon this year I believe the Hermits are planning on ending this season. The moon is their way of achieving this goal, as it will soon come crashing down onto the server. Although this season will be shorter than most, I believe the hermits were planning this end since the beginning, as they have been leaving hints throughout the whole season. One of the biggest hints being Bdubs moon base he created early on, others like grain and mumbo planning on both building night skys in their mega bases, along with Gem building moon lamp posts around her base. The last one I picked up on was Tango's giant, Fif Fi's eye could symbolize the moon, and its full name is Fi Fi THE DESTROYER OF WORLDS. Let me know what you guys think and tell me any other hints you guys might have picked up.

@@SlushLive by deleting the chunks with nothing on them and reloading them in the new update. New terrain gen will merge it in nicely. Part of the reason they chose an island is because that allows them to change the oceans without any massive chunk borders. In previous versions when you have updated terrain next to terrain from older versions you could have stone walls where the ground is higher/lower than it should be due to the same seed having different effects on world gen after changes

@@arbi9506 there actually have been hints of Grumbot in s8 Doc and Ren's lore this season is sort of like am ARG and in one of the clues we had to enter stuff into a website's terminal and it mentioned Grumbot.

Weird Game Theory: The shaking are caused by the gravitational force of the moon which indicates that it is actually going to crash into the overworld which explains why it is getting bigger. After hours of head scratching calculations i conclude that the moon will crash into the world in approximately in 5 days(in my country it is 25th november so that means it will happen on 30th of nevember). In all seriousness tho, i think this is how they will shift to the 1.18 cave update. Makes perfect sense

Alternative (but less likely option): There's an apocalypse Movie being previewed to be released in 2022 called "Moonfall" ... where the moon is going to collide with earth, and causes all sorts of earthquakes and natural disasters as it gets closer and the gravity fields start interacting. Majora's mask is a good guess though for a group of gamers like the hermits

What if the moon isn’t getting bigger, but rather it’s getting closer? It would eventually crash into the planet killing all life, I recommend you and the other boatem members dig down to bedrock under Boatem and build a bunker with obsidian walls that are at least 3 blocks thick, you and Scar can decorate the interior, Mumbo can build automatic farms for food, you should also have at least 1 stack of each block and each seed/saplings so you can rebuild the destroyed portion of the world, also you should have one pair of each animal to repopulate the destroyed part of the world, it should also be easy to access.

Idea for the floor of the chest monster: Make the floor out of glass exactly like you did for the ceiling of the cave, and add barrels that seem to go down forever, like the idea of never ending storage

Theory: the moon will crash into the hermit craft server on November 30 “making” a new island with 1.18 stuff. And a piece of the moon will go back to its original size and place

Zelda fans are having a field day with this hermitcraft season

i think it would be cool if the barrel piles in the chestmonster were each for one or a few types of similar blocks that you have a ton of. like cobblestone or something that has a lot, so you don't have to make those all confusing by putting difference types of blocks in each barrel. it probably won't happen here but that might be cool for anyone who is also building something similar

Bdubs’ narration was beautiful. The hermits should make an episode where each of them swap narration with each other, each of them adding their own voiceovers to another hermits video.

A way to make the chest monster look more messy is making invisible armor stands hold books and paper in the air so it looks like ollivanders, for good measure you can put signs under carpets to make it look like some wands have fell

My personal theory: The Minecraft world is gaining mass as it expands to the extra height in Caves and Cliffs pt2. This is increasing the gravitational force on the Moon and pulling it closer, eventually resulting in a collision.

Well that would change the moons orbit but it wouldn’t make it directly come closer it would either just simply change the orbit or make it spiral down instead of coming down directly (because of the momentum and it possibly missing it the first time)

Just some ideas for "the chest monster" - building: - cobwebs - carpet (you can even hang banners on the wall that look like those fancy ... oriental? ... carpets - wonky bookshelves (you can make the outline of it out of stairs, so it looks like wood ornaments) - weird stuff hanging down from the ceiling - a pesky bird in some corner (maybe with music) - a counter (like in an actual shop) - peculiar plants in pots standing around
